Erin planned for me to meet my parents. Parker went with me for support. I was rambling on the way there because I felt so nervous. It was a habit, and Parker reassured me he would be there and to calm down. Yeah, sure, that’s like telling a cat to calm down when you want to bathe them.

We arrived and got out of the car, making our way into the diner. Erin was with a couple, and I could see the resemblance. We walked over and took a seat at a table.

/"Selena, this is Brad and Louisa Mitchell, your parents,/" Erin introduced us as I stared at them. I didn’t know what to say.

They looked at me as I looked at them.

/"We know you don’t know us, but we would like to get to know you,/" Louisa mentioned as I continued to look at them.

/"We missed so much with you,/" Brad added as I could hear the sadness in his voice.

/"What happened?/" I asked, wanting to know how someone could snatch me.
