After the holidays, things returned to somewhat normal except for Jasper and Marco. They were tiptoeing around their feelings. I thought kissing under the mistletoe would help them figure things out, but it didn’t.

Then our parents showed up out of the blue one day. Why? It’s because of money. It’s not like they give a shit about me. When someone knocked on the door, it set off a chain of events. I opened it to find them standing there.

/"Hello, Maggie,/" my dad said.

/"Brian. Tricia./"

/"That is Mom and Dad to you./"

/"Since when?/"

He gave me a look as they walked past me.

/"Oh, come in./" I rolled my eyes.

I shut the door behind them. Nash was coming down the stairs and stopped before retreating to get Nixon.

I stood before them. /"What do I owe to this unpleasant visit?/"

/"Can’t a parent come and visit their child?/"

/"Since when?/" Someone asked.
