The Royal Family

Chapter 13

Eliot wakes up to his three friends and a doctor , "Where am i?" , "Your safe now bud , seems you collapsed while speaking to Elder Samra , she sent her best regards" responds James. Eliot processing it all "Thank you guys you all mean a lot to me" , expressing a weak smile through the terrible migrane.

As the village slowly recovered from the shock of the demon attack, dark rumors began to swirl, linking the terrifying event to the royal family. Whispers of discontent and suspicion grew among the villagers, with many wondering why the royals would unleash such horrors upon their own people.

Back at the castle, Prince Alaric and Princess Elena were receiving a hurried report from one of their scouts. The scout's voice trembled as he recounted the failure of the demons to subdue the village, emphasizing the unexpected defeat by a seemingly ordinary villager named Eliot.

"His power was unlike anything we've seen," the scout explained, his eyes wide with fear. "He commanded the demons, forcing them to retreat with mere words imbued with a terrifying authority."

Prince Alaric, tall and stern, with a calculating glint in his dark eyes, exchanged a look with his sister. Princess Elena, her delicate features hardened by ambition, nodded slightly. "This Eliot, we need to learn more about him. His power could be a threat, or it could be instrumental in our reign. We must bring him to the court."

"Indeed," Alaric agreed, his mind racing with plans. "But let's not reveal our connection to the demons. For now, we will extend an invitation of goodwill. We will present it as an opportunity for him to join the royal advisory council."

"I heard father has already failed in thus , Eliot is not that fond of us" elaborates Elena.

"If kindness does not work then you throw stones and rocks at a individual until they finally break.." Alaric declared. His voice carried a chilling resolve, signaling the lengths he was prepared to go to ensure their rule was unchallenged.

The following morning, a royal envoy was dispatched to the village, bearing an ornate letter sealed with the royal crest. Despite Elder Samra having restored the village with her healing abilities, there was still much to be done in terms of organizing and strengthening the community. Eliot was at the heart of these efforts, discussing plans and improvements with villagers in the town square.

The royal envoy stepped forward, clearing his throat to gather attention. "Eliot of Glenwood," he announced, his voice echoing slightly off the stone buildings, "Prince Alaric and Princess Elena extend an invitation to you to join the royal council as an advisor. This position offers protection and prosperity for your village."

Murmurs rippled through the crowd. This was a significant proposition, and all eyes turned to Eliot for his response. He paused, wiping his brow with the back of his hand before addressing the envoy.

"I appreciate the honor," Eliot responded thoughtfully, "but I must decline. My place is here, with my people, working together to strengthen our community."

The envoy's smile faltered, replaced by a stern look. "Master Eliot, it is unwise to refuse the royal family. Such actions can lead to... complications," he cautioned.

Eliot met the envoy's gaze firmly. "Then let these complications come. My duty is to these people, right here, not to a throne that doesn't see beyond its own walls."

With a nod, the envoy turned and left, his departure leaving a tense silence hanging over the square. Eliot returned to his discussion, but the gravity of his refusal weighed heavily on him and his companions. While his friends realising how confident Eliot has become.

Back at the castle, Alaric was upset when he heard Eliot had said no. "Get ready for the next step," he told his advisors sharply. "If Eliot won't join us by choice, we'll make him. Get a secret team ready; let's see how tough he and his village are against the crown's power."

Elena looked at her brother, worried. "Be careful, Alaric," she said. "Pushing them too hard might make them dislike us even more. They really believe in Eliot."

Alaric waved her concerns away. "They'll learn their place soon," he said coldly.

As the castle's dark plans were made, a storm was coming that would test Eliot's bravery and the village's loyalty against the royal family's threats.
