Prologue

Humans of Earth have dominated their world since science and human ingenuity started developing. Whether it be other terrestrial creatures, or nature itself, man would find a way to overcome it. Unfortunately for man, it wasn't meant to last. In 2030, a surge of unknown energy was detected by satellites closing in on the solar system and when it hit, it changed the very foundation of society.

Electricity, the greatest technology that allowed modern man to control nature and stay on top of the food chain, was no longer able, to be generated. After a month, and no one understanding why this is, something even worse happens; nature decided to hit the world while it was down. This phenomena woke the planet up, causing a series of natural disasters that would go on to wipe out modern civilization as we know it. Which included devastating earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, and dormant volcanoes suddenly erupting. This destroyed every major city of the planet and killing billions in the process.

The few that survived this chain of events thought themselves fortunate. They thought they could rebuild only to realize that it wasn't the end. The Earth was going through a transformation of its own and these disasters would plague its surface for the next hundred years. These events would send the majority of the remaining population underground into bunkers across the globe. In which time, the land mass would increase by 20% due to one of the worlds largest volcanoes erupting in the Pacific.

Many thought it was the end but eventually these unnatural disasters ceased completely and what awaited humanity was a world that was completely transformed most towns and cities where either in ruin completely collapse or washed away by the oceans. But, the worse was some of the atrocities committed by people. Whether it was robbing their fellows or being ruthless and killing any that would challenge their rule society took a massive step back where power reined supreme.

When people started coming out of the underground shelters, out of the dark it was a completely different generation these people had never known modern society and had never seen the sun. The only light they had ever known was the fluorescent stones installed by their forefathers in their underground world. After being trapped underground for so long the oldest that survived to return to the surface shed tears and the youth could only stare in wonder at the beauty of the world.

A dozen of such shelters were built across the globe not all had survived there exile underground and not many had peaceful communities not when food was scarce. So when the chance presented itself many ran off disappearing never to be seen again.

Most of the youth wanted to see this wider world, that they had only heard stories of. But they soon realized, that the outside world was filled with dangerous animals. Which had multiplied at an extreme rate. From what they had learned these were not the creatures of the past. these seemed far more intelligent, far more aggressive, and far tougher. The few guns and weapons that they had were only able to slow down these beasts. Many feared these beasts and could only hide in there respective parts of the world. Some choose to develop underground burrowing deeper into the earth. Others, choose to become masters of the forest. Some choose to live by the sea which only become a greater source of food since the sea's had repopulated themselves. Some found themselves in frozen wastelands having to hunt the roaming beast for food. Which more often then not ended unsuccessfully and the hunters dying making it so there were a few less mouths to feed.

Everywhere across the planet one thing was constant among all these different groups of people only the strong survived.
