"Can we go now?" she asked with something Kathleen recognized as a mischievous smile.

She threw her a warning glare to which Cheryl raised her hands in mock surrender but didn't fail to add, "I'm innocent of all the charges you want to level against me."

She took a deep breath and exhaled. 'Could my life be any less dramatic with all these kinds of people around me?'
