Chapter 9: Techniques

I checked the soldier in front of us who are now lined up in their armor and standing in straight lines, the arena was not small, but with all of the soldiers both the eastern and western combined, it truly look magnificent.

"Who in your team will go first?" I asked General Colin looking over to their soldiers, he smirked and face his soldiers and looking over the sea of men he spotted one and called him out

"You over there" He pointed a very tall and muscled man "Come here" he said

the soldier was about 6'5 and purse muscle, he was clearly someone who trains every day "Tell me your name soldier" He asked

"It is Samuel sir" He bowed

"Raise your head soldier and ready your sword" He said to the soldier he then faced me and gestured me to go on

I raised one eyebrow and faced my soldiers, looking over them, I am looking for a soldier who I trained with since I was younger.

"Ah!" I spotted a dear friend whom I was fond of

"Gappy!" I smiled and called his name out

He look surprise but nevertheless smiled and shake his head

Gappy was about 6'1 and well built, he was a person who valued discipline and practice. He was someone who taught me the importance of controlling habits and prolonging patience.

"Lady Adelia" He bowed

"Gappy, you will be demonstrating the Eastern technique style" I smiled at him

"It is an honor" He bowed

As me and General Colin sat down next to Prince Ryker, the two soldier take center and facing each other. I observe the arrogance in the western soldier while Gappy has a no emotion to his.

"Ready!" I shouted, both soldier took their stance

"Fight!" I said

Both began hitting their sword

I first observe the western style in fighting and one thing was obvious, they heavily rely on their brute force. Samuel is constantly charging and charging using so much energy and force, while Gappy is dodging it was monitoring his every move

"Hold still you!" Samuel screamed

As soon Gappy saw that samuel began losing energy, he then began attacking. Samuel was to close, Gappy did a front kick after following it up with his sword slashing his armor. Gappy did not stop there, he strike Samuel in the chest with his foot and pushing Samuel onto the floor. As soon as Samuel made contact to the ground, Gappy pointed his sword towards his neck.

"You have great muscle mass but poor formation" He said

"Halt!" I said smiling, as I stand up and moving towards them "Great job Gappy" I said and as I look over to Samuel "You have a lot of potential. Use this as a learning opportunity" I said

Samuel looked relieved by my words and as I look over to General Colin, he had a look of awe struck in his face

"General Colin?" I called him out

Prince Ryker gave him a nudge as he finally snap out of his day dream

"Ah yes!" He said standing up and going over to us.

"It was a great learning experience to see a western style of fighting" I said smiling

"Well it was also a educational experience for us too" Prince Ryker said

"I admire the use of strength and I like the great style and fighting technique that really focuses in the sword" I said

"But if I may, I would like to voice out my opinion" I ask the prince

"It would be an honor for us both" He said

"Well, when fighting, we are not limited to our capabilities but mixing it with Martial arts and different techniques could potentially widen the different ways in defeating the enemy" I said

"Focusing in fists and sword alone is not enough, the body is a weapon we can use that could potentially create a better outcome, muscle and strength is not enough but with the use of speed and observation can be an advantage" I looked at them both

"Gappy here first observed his enemy, since he was encountering a warrior not from this nation, he should first inspect the weakness. He saw that his enemy gave in huge amount of force and strength and he knows that the opinion will lose a big amount of energy. And in terms of height he is aware of that disadvantage but he uses his legs to give blows and dodge the sword." I stop and bowed my head

"If you find my words are very disrespectful then I apologize" I said continuing bowing my head

"No, you are right" I raised my head, it was Prince Ryker who spoke up

"I admire the techniques and respect the sword art of your nation and it is the greatest honor for me and my men to be trained under you" He said and bowed

I immediately bowed back lower to show respect to the Royal member

"His majesty is right, the eastern nation technique is both admirable and we are thankful to be here learning under you" He said bowing

"Well we have 2 months to train and Adelia here is a competent leader and I assure you we can win this war" Keilian came up to the podium and following beside him was Renakel and Wei

"Thank you" I smiled at them

"When do we start?" Prince Ryker ask

I look over to the sea of soldier all excited to train with a gleaning hope in their eyes

"We start in 15 minutes" I smiled looking at them.
