The sound grew closer, making Serena stop her hand movements. She looked carefully at the reflection in the mirror. As the door behind her slowly opened, Jolie appeared with a big smile on her face. She looked cheerful, with her hair always styled so neatly and fancy clothes that always made her look striking.
"Serena, darling!" exclaimed Jolie in a booming, cheerful voice. She walked quickly over to Serena, as if she couldn't wait to deliver the news.
Serena just smiled as she glanced at Jolie in the mirror. "Mommy, what's wrong?" she asked, trying to sound as casual as possible despite her discomfort.
Jolie approached and stood behind her. She then placed both hands on Serena's shoulders, while her eyes were fixed on Serena's face reflected in the mirror. Jolie smiled, she really felt lucky to have Serena. The woman had a truly beautiful face, and it was truly a gold mine for her life.
