Chapter 30
“George,” I said, “you’re not old, you’re timeless.”
It worked, somewhat. He came over and kissed me on the mouth, as was his wont.
“Thank you, Keith. Now, let’s watch the movie.”
It was my first time watching Now, Voyager, and I found myself greatly affected by the self-sacrifice ending, which was powerfully done. I cried my way through the last half-hour of the movie. George, I knew, didn’t mind that. My tendency to react strongly to movies had been the thing that had first attracted him to me.
