The Feast

Darius was very pleased to see the two of them, he embraced them both in his arms and thanked the fool.

"You were magnificent Luce, I've never fought anyone as strong as you before."

"Thank you, I'm flattered you think of me so highly."

"Of course who wouldn't."

He laughs and coughs some blood out upon doing so, he covers his mouth to not show disrespect towards his guests.

"Are you alright?"

"Do not worry this is merely nothing."

"It would take a lot more than that to kill him Novis, trust me I would know."

"Exactly, now where was I at" He recomposes himself.

"Right, so what are your plans then Luce? How do you feel about taking the role of King in my Kingdom?"

"Although it is a great offer, I do in fact have other plans, speaking of which I was planning on leaving the Kingdom today."

"TODAY? HOW COME?"

"Well, I have some business with the Sound Kingdom."

"Oh, those people, I wouldn't recommend going there if I were you."

"How so?"

"Sure their Kingdom is nice and all, but it seems a little too unreal how things operate there."

"Could you explain a bit better?"

"Hmmm, I'm not much of an explaining kind of guy, I mostly fight and that's about it really."

"𝘏𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯."

"Maybe It's better I find out myself then."

"It wouldn't be the worst idea but just be careful, Solatido Is quite the strange man, whenever I meet him I always have the feeling he's staring at me from many angles it is off-putting, but alas, how about you Novis? Wouldn't you like to be King?"

"It sure is a wonderful offer but I think my purpose is to stay with Luce, I would also like to see this plan of his unfold."

"Well, that's a shame, how about I create a nice feast for you two before you set out on your adventure?"

"No no, really It's fine. It's not that big of a deal."

"WELL TOO BAD I'M DOING IT ANYWAYS, THE WHOLE SCHOOL WILL PARTICIPATE AS WELL."

Novis and the fool look at each other and just laugh

"YOU TWO CAN'T JUST KEEP REJECTING MY OFFERS. I'M THE KING OF THIS PLACE SHOW A LITTLE RESPECT."

"Alright alright, more food for us then."

"I don't really mind either, I hope Vanessa comes as well."

"We will have it tonight then, as a nice farewell to my strongest of friends."

"Would you like me to heal either yours or Erastus's wounds?"

"We'll survive, so do not worry."

"If you say so, well we're going to go back to Vanessa's house to let her know what's happening, see you at the feast Darius."

"Bye Darius."

They both wave as they leave the King's throne room.

"I bet you didn't expect this to happen did you Luce?"

"An entire feast with the whole school? No not at all, I just wanted to get to the Sound Kingdom."

"Oh come on It'll be fun, and I'm sure Vanessa will be happy to hear about it."

"Maybe, I guess I'm just not used to this sort of, appreciation."

"Really? You seem like the type."

"Well, the Thunder Kingdom was alright, though I'd rather not talk about the Ice Kingdom."

"Why's that?"

"It's a long story Novis, and not a happy one either."

"You know you can tell me anything right Luce?"

"Of course Novis, either way, that's in the past, and right now we should think about the feast."

"Exactly, speaking of which, do you think they'll let me keep the uniform?"

"Why not pick out a new outfit?"

"I could, but then again what if I pick a bad one?"

"I'm sure you'd pick one that looks good, actually, change of plans we're going to the clothes store."

"What? Why? Luce, it's fine really-"

"No no, you can't back out of this one Novis, we're gonna go get you a new outfit."

"Fine fine."

Instead of going straight to Vanessa's house, the fool and Novis went to go pick out some new clothes, he may have shopped for some clothes before but a new signature outfit would be perfect for his new journey with the fool.

"How's it going Honor?"

"Oh if it isn't Novis. How may I help you today?"

"I'm just going to look for a new outfit, something that stands out and works well in battle."

"Isn't that a little hard to find here?"

"Honor can have many many things here, you never know what you may find."

At first, they picked out clothes at random and tried them on without really thinking too much, though after a while they realized it wasn't the best of ideas, especially after considering that Novis is going to wear this for a long long time.

"I don't think that looks too good Novis, sorry, I like the scarf though."

"Better than nothing I guess."

Novis started to slowly give up on the idea of changing outfits, that is until he found quite the particular clothing.

"Honor? This looks rather important, are you sure I can buy this?"

"You've got quite the eye, some say it came from a Kingdom yet to be discovered, although the style is in accordance with the legend, I highly doubt it's true."

"Well, I'll try it anyways."

It was a little tough to put on at first, it was quite heavy, but after some time he finally showed the fool.

"Um, what do you think about this one Luce?"

"Oh wow, wait a minute."

The fool starts to really look at Novis, more and more from many different angles without saying a word.

"Can you just say if you like it already?"

"The more I look at it the more I'm interested, It genuinely suits you perfectly I'm so surprised."

He knocks on his chest.

"Is this armored too? Wow, Impressive."

"So do we keep it?"

"OF COURSE, IT'S AMAZING."

Novis was thrilled and full of excitement, he was so happy to have finally found something that suited him, even though he looked a little out of place.

"Let's go show Vanessa then."

"If you say so. Thanks, Honor, here's the money."

"No It's ok, this one's on the house, I don't think I've seen something that suits you better."

Novis started getting red at the compliments he had been receiving and just quickly thanked Honor and left.

"I'm getting a couple of weird looks Luce."

"They're probably just jealous don't worry about it."

"If you say so."

"𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦."

Finally arriving at Vanessa's house, the two of them knocked three times until someone answered the door.

"What have you guy's been doing, what took you so long?"

"I think you can guess."

She stares at Novis for a second, he doesn't exactly know what to do and just waves at her.

"Look's pretty good, well come in then."

"Well actually, you're going to have to come with us."

"What? Why?"

"The King wants to throw a feast with the whole school invited, as a goodbye gift."

"What a strange man, I mean sure It's fine but what about the lasagne?"

"You can just bring it, I'm sure your mom would like to come to the feast as well."

"MAMA! DO YOU WANT TO COME TO THE FEAST? LUCE AND NOVIS ARE LEAVING FOR A LONG LONG TIME."

The mother yells back. "GIVE ME LIKE TEN MINUTES AND I'M THERE."

"You heard her, I should probably get ready as well, so you two can just sit on the couch in the meantime."

"As long as you don't mind."

They both entered and waited in the living room for both of them to finish.

"Everything alright there Novis? You seem more embarrassed than usual."

"W-What? Shut up alright I'm fine I feel great."

"Thanks for keeping the scarf, by the way, the blue and white of it looks great on you."

Novis pulls the scarf up to cover his face whilst looking the other way. "Whatever."

After more than just ten minutes, the mother and daughter finally finish and walk down the stairs together.

Vanessa wore a nice green dress with earrings that seemed to cost a lot, her mother on the other hand wore a red dress that was quite sparkly.

"We're done now."

"I was just about to take a nap as well."

"We have to look good in front of the King alright."

"If you say so, I doubt the King will even be dressed with the number of wounds he has."

"And that's thanks to who again?"

"Hey, I asked to heal him, and he said no."

"If you say so, let's just go now."

"Let me go grab the lasagne then."

They all left the house together, Vanessa stood closer to Novis whilst walking on the way there.

"Quite the interesting design you've got there Novis, what's the drawing on that?"

"I'm not too sure myself but apparently It's from another Kingdom."

"I doubt it is, also It's meant to be a Dragon by the way, in case you didn't know."

"A Dragon? Doesn't that give bad luck?"

"You'll be fine, and if anything my good luck will rub onto you."
