A Familiar Face

From afar a woman notices our two heroes.

"𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦? 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘰𝘩 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺'𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵? 𝘈𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨."

Slowly she approached them, her skin was completely blue and seemed frostbitten, and most of her clothes were ragged but she seemed pretty content with herself.

"H-Hello there?"

She had a smile on her face though she seemed nervous, yet still waved eagerly.

After wiping their tears, Luce asks.

"Hello? Don't you hate me?"

"Me? Hate? Why would I hate anyone, I haven't seen anyone in forever, in fact, I don't think I know anyone, do you perhaps know who I was? Sorry, I'm asking a lot of questions, that must be rude."

"No It's fine really, what's the last thing you remember?"

"Hmmm, I woke up in this deserted land, my clothes seemed damaged but it didn't really bother me."

"Wow, well, sorry I know this is an odd request but, could you show me your back quickly?"

"I'm not sure if I trust you that much and all."

"I assure you really, I just need to check something it's mainly to make sure you are who I think you are."

"I do want to know who I was, I guess I don't really mind."

She turns her back towards him and pulls her hair up.

It was very obvious that this was in fact the Ice Queen, the O mark could be seen on her back.

"I guess you really are her."

"Can I turn around now?"

"Of course, so, how badly do you want to know who you were?"

"Well, I could live without it really, but it would be nice to know, I'm quite happy with my life right now."

Luce turns to Novis quickly whispering to him.

"Should we tell her who she was? I kind of need her to come with us."

"Luce, you need to strive to be better, don't you dare manipulate her into coming with us."

"Well, fine alright, but I will slightly alter the story ok?"

"Just, fine but don't alter it too much."

He turns towards her.

"You were once known as the Queen of the Ice Kingdom."

"Me? A Queen? That doesn't exactly sound right."

"Well you were, you were quite strong too, but eventually at some point some man appeared in your Kingdom, he got very mad and ended up destroying the entire Kingdom."

"Why would he do that? Or, did I do something that bad?"

"You... You killed his family, and after that, he decided to take out his anger on your Kingdom."

"I could see why he would do that, do you know who this man is?"

"He's uh, quite far away, no one exactly knows where he resides."

Novis stares at the fool with disappointment.

"I don't know if what he did was right or wrong, I never exactly thought that much, but I would like to apologize to this man, although what he did was terrible, what I did was horrible in its own right."

"Well, it was the old you."

"Old me or not, I still did it, I hope I ruled my Kingdom nicely at the least, but after hearing this, I must've been pretty bad at my job."

"I'm sure that-"

"OH WELL, That is a thought for another time, now why are you two here?"

Novis steps in.

"We were actually searching for you, would you mind coming with us on our small adventure?"

"I don't really have too much to do, so I suppose I wouldn't mind."

"Great, we're actually going to the Rock Kingdom, I'm sure you'd love it there."

"Is it? I haven't exactly been anywhere else, right are both of your names by the way?"

"My name is Novis, and my friend over here is Luce, what's your name?"

"Do I have a name?"

"Well everyone does, do you not?"

"Not one I could remember, but, how about Alma?"

"Alma? It sounds quite nice."-Novis

"I like it, I think it suits you."-Luce

"Do you have anything to grab before we go, Alma?"

"Not really, could we go now? I'm pretty interested."

"Of course, do you want the fast way or the slow way?"

"How about a bit of both?"

"I think I could make that happen, Novis, could you make two big walls of Water? Preferably attached to each other, also make them curve as if you were creating a house."

"Whatever you want Luce."

Novis does exactly as Luce says and creates two Water walls attached to each other that curve.

He sets it on the ground having one wall face the ground and the other still being a normal regular wall.

"Alright, could you all step on this platform with me?"

"Are you really going to use that again?"

"Of course."

"Listen, Alma, just hold onto something."

Luce starts to create an electromagnetic field, strong enough to repulse the earth's field, sending them flying in the direction of the Rock Kingdom.

"But there's nothing to hold-"

"WOOOOAAAAAAH."

"THIS IS THE WORST SPELL YOU CREATED."

"WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT, IT'S THE BEST."

They all safely balance themselves and sit down enjoying the view.

"I never would have guessed I'd be seeing a view as beautiful as this one."

"Whenever you're with Luce, you always end up seeing the most random of things."

"What can I say, I'm just an interesting person."

"You two are so full of personality, I'm quite the empty husk."

"Don't say that Alma, come on, what kind of stuff do you do every day?"

"Well, I made a small garden, It's not the easiest thing to handle since the Wastelands are quite harsh."

"See? That's plenty impressive, anything else you do?"

"I enjoy knitting, although it's quite a hard hobby, I found some knitting needles one time during my many scoutings, and I rarely find anything important, every now and then I find some spare pieces of yarn, right now I'm trying to make a puppet of a wolf, I'm not sure why but, wolves seem important to me."

"So for how long have you been surviving the Wastelands like this?"

"I'm not sure I didn't really count, but I mostly ate the beasts within the area, found whatever water I can, and every now and then I would scout for anything of use."

"Thankfully you're going to the Rock Kingdom now, I'm sure Darius won't mind you too much."

"Darius?"

"Right you don't know all Kings, Darius is the King of the Rock Kingdom, he loves fighting and can be quite the loveable guy."

"Ooooh, he sounds great, what's this Kingdom like?"

"There's a lot of stuff really, out of all the Kingdoms it seems like the most developed really, or well the wealthiest."

"Why's that?"

"I'm not too sure, technically the Sound Kingdom would be the most advance, but they have some problems there right now, also I know most of the important people in the Rock Kingdom, and knowing them, I'm sure they'd improve the Kingdom more and more."

"You're giving this place a lot of praise."

"I was born here, usually most people hate where they're born but, after Luce helped me, I've been enjoying it more and more."

"What do you do Luce?"

"Oh me? Well, I'm about to finish this plan of mine actually."

"May I know what it is?"

"You'll find out soon really, I sort of need you for it."

"Why's that?"

"You have a lot of magical power."

"You're quite vague about this aren't you."

"Don't bother Alma, he's been like this for the past couple of days, but we're really close to finishing this plan, we just need Darius and then we should be able to finally finish it."

"Pretty much yeah, oh, look's like we're almost there, now, how are we meant to land."

"Luce, please tell me you've thought about how we're going to land."

"Well, I was thinking that maybe you could you know, make at least like, ten Water beds?"

"COULDN'T YOU HAVE SAID SO SOONER?"

"NO, NOT REALLY, NOW GO ON."

"FINE FINE."

Novis touches the floor and starts to create as many beds as possible both below the wall and completely around him forming a massive sphere of beds.

"HERE LET ME AT LEAST TRY THIS."

Luce tries to control the magnetic field to slightly push the sphere of houses away from the ground reducing the impact.

"I'm going to survive right?"

"OF COURSE YOU WILL, DON'T YOU DARE UNDERESTIMATE US." They both say at the same time.

"WHAT?"

"JINX."

"DOUBLE JINX."

"TRIPLE JINX."

"SHUT UP YOU TWO AND FOCUS ON OUR SURVIVAL."

"I'M TRYING MY BEST ALRIGH- QUADRUPLE JINX."
