June was resting against one of the stone pillars within the barren halls of Worth Street Station, or at least the remains of what she hadn't destroyed due to the humiliation given to her by Wukong's Fake. Yet, the sound of a Bifrost Portal raining down from the Heavens awoke her from The Cobrivite brief rest as she glanced over to the new arrivals. "Oh, Fucking Hell No!" Declared Malbec as she recognized the Demon Duo that brought themselves before her. These were The Silver and Gold Brothers, named Ginkaku and Kinkaku. Famous Arcane Tech developers as well as powerful demon warriors among The Jade Realm of Euvis. "I am NOT working with you two morons!" Hissed Malbec as she extended her acidic wrist blades in a threatening manner.
Kinkaku simply responded with a finger wag of disapproval before explaining the reason for their arrival; "Listen here Miss Malbec, if you don't want us to assist you in the bounty hunt for Princess Esmeralda. You gotta take it up with Emperor Ryequar, not us. It is doubtful that you would though consider the guy's short temper." Remarked the Golden Demon with a smudged smile adorning his face. However it was quickly wiped off as June was not amused by this and slammed her tail onto the stone ground, cracking it with a great degree of force. Yelping in terror from this threat, Ginkaku took the lead with an angered sigh.
"Look, we have our own beef with Macaque anyhow. The Monkey brat humiliated us like you when he took over guiding Tripitaka back when." Explained The Silver Demon as June closed her eyes while retracting her blades, "Plus we know how to use the guy's hearing against him too. He may hear everything yet that also means surprisingly that same hearing is extremely sensitive to him." Ginkaku added on as this detail intrigued Malbec as she raised a scaly eyebrow with curiosity.
This was soon followed by a sly grin as June's fangs became visible as poison dripped from them. "Such a powerful Stone Monkey yet with such a ridiculous weakness for one to exploit so easily." The Cobrivite announced as both demons laughed in amusement at her delight.
"Tell me about it. Just wished we knew about this sooner during our encounter with the Shadow Conjuror." Ginkaku replied as he turned to his brother with a gesture to pull out their gadgets for their quest against Macaque. Kinkaku soon pulled out a bag that held their tech, bringing out a set of technological discs which glowed with mystical energy.
Kinkaku handed one over to Malbec to examine before debriefing her; "This is what we call Cliodhna Screamers, named after The Banshee Queen herself. These bad boys can produce a sound with a max total of three hundred decibels. More than enough to incapacitate the Six-Eared Monkey." Gold bragged before showing an expression of extreme caution, "Though... I would not recommend using it at the max level..." This level of power was not something to scoff at. After all, the closest example that can be compared to the force of Three Hundred Decibels is The Krakatoa Eruption which took place during the year 1883.
"Talk about overdoing it... That would do more than just incapacitate the Monkey you know... That would also destroy our eardrums along with his, if those ears of his are even left from enduring the sound." June announced as she messed with the dial of the Screamers, ensuring that they won't be on the highest level for their safety. "I would need to inform you that I haven't been tracking our target since I contacted Ryequar though. Thought it was best to lay low until reinforcements arrived. We are gonna need to do some tracking to catch up to them." Malbec advised as the brothers groaned in annoyance as tracking was not their strongest suit.
Elsewhere with Tyrik and his company of friends, upon arrival at The Redwoods King Canyon National Park. The first thing that Tyrik Recognized within the parking lot was his mom's FJ Cruiser, rushing over to check on the off road vehicle. Yet as Tyrik came closer to the car, he came to see the car being absolutely destroyed and torn apart by what looked like massive claws. Though, Claws were not the only thing that ripped apart the FJ Cruiser as there were signs of it being torn apart with inhuman strength as shattered glass and scrap metal laid across the black pavement. "Holy damn... Someone does not like Toyota vehicles..." Joked Tyrik with a frightened gulp as the others were stunned by the wreckage before them.
Kathleen promptly approached the destruction as she took a swig of the alcohol within her small container. "let me look throoehgh dis and 'ead into de woods to see if you can peck oehp ahn Amari's trail. Be carefoehl dooehgh. Dooehbt dat whatever flayed de car into swess cheese wooehldn't be far behend...[Let me look through this and head into the woods to see if you can pick up on Amari's trail. Be careful though. Doubt that whatever flayed the car into swiss cheese wouldn't be far behind...]" She advised as Washta began to grip the sidearm that she carried. The Schawnee Woman had an idea of what had done this. Yet... She could not believe that it was the fabled monster that often plagued The Tribes of The Great Lakes.
Hell, Washta could not even bring herself to even mention its very name within her own thoughts. As the Creature had many names and titles, an emblem of a Sadistic Hunter and Devourer of Flesh. To bring up the malevolent being's name was a taboo in itself. 'But it can't be that devil... The stories stated that it can't leave the Algonquian Regions...' Washta convinced herself as terror grew upon her.
Judy was quick to pick up on Washta's terror as she gave an expression of worry for the Native American Woman. "You okay? You seemed shaken by all of this..." Miss Joyce asked with concern as Washta immediately waved this behavior off. Stories of monsters could not be real, even if her tribe were spiritual and took caution of the tales of their myths.
With that Esmeralda, Tyrik, Ricky, Washta, and Judy took off to venture into the depths of the Redwood Forest. The journey within the woods was peaceful as the wildlife within went about their routine in life. Ranging from foxes, quails, woodpeckers, and various other critters that lived within the National Park. These sounds had helped Washta to relax from her terror regarding the monster which had beleaguered her mind earlier. Taking in a deep breath of the fresh air with a smile adorning her face. "Praise Mishe Moneto. Even though we are here to uncover what happened to my sister and Tyrik's mother. Hiking within the park is quite refreshing." Washta declared as Tyrik became intrigued by the mention of Mishe Moneto.
"My apologies in advance if I end up butchering the name, but who's Mashina Momento?" He asked with pure curiosity regarding Washta's Culture among her tribe.
"Mih-sheh-muh-neh-toh, Tyrik." The Shawnee slowly pronounced to help Tyrik understand the appropriate way to say The Great Spirit's name. "That is the name of my tribe's take on the Creator of all things. It is one of the deities of the culture within my tribe, The Shawnee." Washta explained as Tyrik tried his best to absorb the information regarding Washta's culture. "My tribe can be divided into five groups, known as The Pekowi, The Mekoche, The Kishpoko, The Thawikila, and Chalaakaatha. The Pekowi can be simply explained as Religious speakers while The Mekoche is practicers of our ways of healing." The Shawnee Woman continued on while being surprised by the interest that came from Tyrik. It wasn't common for others to show genuine interest regarding the Native American Culture, yet it was always nice to come across those who wanted to learn about her Tribe and others among them. "Next up we have The Kishpoko who are the Warriors of our tribe. The final two, Thawikila and Chalaakaatha, focus more on the political affairs of our tribe. Can't imagine how people can tolerate the stuff surrounding politics though... Even everyday people have a hard time wrapping their heads around that kind of stuff." Washta finished off while rubbing the bridge of her nose.
"I can understand that level of bullshit and stress regarding that field..." Esmeralda declared as she could not bear to think over the level of stress that would come accompanied by the role of being a Princess. The conflicts she already had to settle between Alfheim and the other domains within The Nordic Realm was frustrating enough. Though, it did help that each Realm within Euvis had agreed to handle their own affairs. The Divine and their Egos did not like the idea of sharing their denizens as well as those who would worship them. Though there was once a time when they needed to put that aside to fight against an enemy long ago.
"Hey! I think I found something over here!" Exclaimed Ricky as the others rushed over to examine the find. Though... What it entailed was a bit disturbing... "What do you make of this? Because I don't see anything good when it comes to broken trees, slash marks, and blood stains..." The Filipino announced with dread as the crew came to see a region ahead consumed by mass destruction.
Multiple trees that had stood strong for ages were either shattered or showed signs of being sliced by massive claws. It did not matter how thick and tall the tree had grown to be as their trunks were cleanly cut through akin to a heated knife slicing through butter. Or they were broken apart by inhuman levels of strength. The scent of blood was indeed present among the massacre of redwood trees as someone tried to fight back against the attacker. However, they were injured to a degree that was not easily described from the scene before the group. As Judy began to utilize her goggles to examine the scene further, Washta was growing pale from fear and confusion. Judy worked quickly with her gear to record what she could as Tyrik caught wind of Washta's terror. It was becoming clear that she might know what had the ability to pull this off.
Yet, like your common Marvel Movie or Shenon Anime, this was cut short as Kathleen shouted aloud as a form of warning; "Dahse White Star Fahlks managed to catch oehp to oehs! Get down oehnless you want to get 'it by fireballs![Those White Star Folks managed to catch up to us! Get Down unless you want to get hit by fireballs!]" The Irish Woman Exclaimed as several spheres of infernos flew towards the group of early twenties kids. Each one of them yelped in shock in their own fashion which ranged from common sounds of a surprise to a few girlish screams. One particular came from Ricky himself as Lin Chao and his team approached them.
"Since When Did People Just Throw Fire Like Some Gandalf Parody!?" Questioned Washta as she managed to barely dodge the flying flames. The Native American was absolutely grateful that her athletic training came in handy for once. "Also why is some mega-company after us!?" Washta further questioned as she tried to wrap herself around the insanity that is now transpiring.
Though, Lin did not care that some rando was now accompanying his targets as his eyes began to show signs of Heat Vision charging up as he glared at Tyrik. Though, Tyrik's Warrior Instincts once again kicked in as he managed to dodge the intense beams of fire. "Guess your still butt hurt that I so easily kicked your ass, Monkey Man?" The Dragon Hybrid mocked with a cocky smile as it enraged The Stone Monkey Hybrid.
"I'll Show You Asshole! I was going easy before and I won't make that same mis-" Lin Chao announced before the Roar of a Giant creature rang out. Soon one of the destroyed trees was thrown through the two parties with great force as it destroyed more of the forest. Soon the monster came into view as Washta screamed in pure terror as she saw the monster. The creature was tall in size yet was covered in glowing mythical runes across its body. The head of the monster was the remnants of a transfigured human skull which had morphed to mimic one belonging to a deer. Antlers formed in a nightmarish shape as eyes glowed with a malevolent aura, massive razor-sharp claws swaying in an intimidating expression as it approached the group. The form of the monster showed signs of great decay like one belonging to a zombie, but it was clear that it was far more than just a mindless undead monster.
"Ok! The Dental Benefits are so not worth dealing with whatever that thing is!" Shouted Steve as he opened fire at the rotting monster. But it was fruitless as the creature only snarled in annoyance as it soon charged at poor Robert before Lin Chao used his staff to intercept it.
"You know... I don't have any damn patience to tolerate whatever your D&D title is! Eat Fire, You Bastard!!!" Shouted The Flaming Monkey Warrior as he summoned a massive torrent of flames toward the monster. Roaring in great pain, The Monster soon was incapacitated. "When did White Star create that thing, Alex?" Questioned Lin as he looked over to one of the other agents while Washta began to relax from seeing this. Yet this sense of relief was dashed away as The Monster grabbed Lin Chao with rage and smashed him through a nearby boulder, causing him to cough up blood as he felt several bones breaking from the attack.
"How The Fuck Did That Not Kill It!? Fire Is The One Weakness That Atchens have!!!" Washta Screamed Aloud as she drew out her handgun from her belt, clearly was scared out of her mind to see the monster before her. The answer to why The Atchen had survived was soon made clear as the burn marks that adorned it were slowly healing as the runes glowed with energy. The Runes began to allow the body to grow more powerful as it recovered, building muscle upon the boney corpse by the second. As if the fatal assault only helped it rather than damaged it.
"Guess whoever created this thing had to modify it to endure that weakness, Washat..." Esmeralda announced as she began to conjure her scythe through her magic. "I really hope we aren't dealing with some Resident Evil Adaptation of an Atchen and Nemesis combo..." She announced as everyone present readied themselves to fend off the Demonic Entity as blood dripped from the fangs upon the skull head of the monster. Though... What terrified everyone was the sinister grin that it began to express. As if it was a Hunter about to tear apart its prey, ready to satisfy a neverending sense of devilish gluttony.
