webnovel

The first step is to be expelled from the academy.

I was reincarnated in a novel, yes, just as you hear it, but at least I was reincarnated as a handsome guy from one of the most important families in the empire; my life is already solved, right? I wish it was, the problem is that I was reincarnated as Arthur Reclesia, a useless bastard worthy of playing the villain who appears at the beginning to make the main character look good and then dies in a pathetic way, although if that was the only problem then it would be easy; just don't act like a jerk and that's it, but the Reclesia family I come from are not only traitors allied with the demons, but in the middle of the novel they are discovered and the whole family is massacred without leaving anyone alive. Damn, I didn't even finish reading the novel

A perfect hit

N/A: I know I never said this before but thank you very much for your power stones, Although I really don't know what they are for, I understand that they are valuable. 😅

How do you think teleportation magic works? Do you simply move a person from oneplace to another?

Well, let me tell you, it doesn't.

First of all, coordinates have to be established. If you try to teleport without having specific coordinates, two things could happen.

You either teleport a few meters away from where you were or you end up miles away from where you were.

The teleportation magic works by creating a "path" that joins the mana of two different zones, to give an example.

Let's say I am at point A and I want to get to point B. Then, first, I would have to set specific coordinates to specifically get to point B, and then, following those coordinates, I would have to create a "path" joining the mana from point A with the mana from point B.

Although it is mentioned that the mana from two different areas is joined, things are not that simple. What really happens is that it is the magician himself who uses his mana to form the connection with the mana of the place where he wants to go.

This clearly requires very large reserves of mana, as well as extreme control and concentration. There is also the detail that the farther you want to go, more mana is going to be required; the same happens when you want to take a person.

This is why to perform the magic of teleportation, you usually use several magicians instead of one, especially if you want to take a large group.

So why am I explaining all this? Well, for the simple and plain reason that I used these requirements to my advantage.

Before the start of the test, it was mentioned that the places where the students would be teleported would be completely random, but as we saw before, that is impossible. What would happen if one of the students appeared at the bottom of a cliff, at the bottom of a river or, worse, in a cave full of monsters? If a student was eliminated from the test simply because he was unlucky enough to show up in a bad place, that would be very unfair.

That's why safe coordinates were established all around the forest so that the students wouldn't be overwhelmed right after the test started, Where they would show up was not clear but could be predicted a little bit.

Then, with some bribes and some threats here and there, my team of noble classicists and I got them to give us a map with the exact coordinates where the students would appear, We also got them to teleport us in nearby places to be able to regroup more easily.

From there, we formed several groups and during the entire test, we dedicated ourselves to one thing only

Hunting the commoners and the "traitor" nobles who allied with them.

Also, using the name of the Reclesia family, I managed to bring a Fenrir from the northern lands without anyone noticing it.

And you may ask yourself, how the hell did they not notice all this?

That is another important point: this world is no longer a novel but a reality.

In the novel, all this was possible because the plot required it, As long as the story progresses, things can happen without sense, as the original Arthur put all this together without anyone noticing it. Arthur, at the slightest problem or disrespect, preferred to act before thinking.

There are many things that could have gone wrong during this operation: the professors could have discovered it, the bribes and threats could have worked, the Fenrir could have arrived on time due to an accident, etc.

That is why I prepared myself enough to be able to circumvent all those possibilities. I asked Livia to investigate the professors and wizards who would be in charge of preparing things for the test, looking for any dirty background, crimes, tax evasion, buying slaves, or anything else that could be useful to "convince" them to help us.

I also asked Professor Vivian to cover for me with some things since she was the one in charge of organizing this test; most of my problems were solved that way, and for the Fenrir, I only had to ask for some help from Miss Lissa to verify that everything went well.

With everything solved, the event went as expected, Kein met Ben and they had a confrontation that was interrupted by the Fenrir that had been placed in the forest days before the test began, They found Leticia and formed a team to defeat the Fenrir, Kein got the clue to access his hidden power and finally the brother and sister duo made their appearance, defeating the Fenrir in a crushing way.

As for me, I was hunting commoners and defeating some monsters with my group of classist nobles—that is, until we met Beatriz and her group, who found out what we were doing and confronted us, obviously ending in our defeat.

After that, not much else happened, Beatriz probably told Kein and his gang what I did and now they will be more vigilant during the second test.

The results of the test appeared the next day, with Alexander in first place with 10.000 points and Kein in second place with 8.976, an overwhelming difference but it was to be expected, Alexander surely bombarded the whole area where he appeared with magic, thus eliminating all the monsters and the poor students who had the bad luck to appear near him.

I was now training with Professor Lucius to learn the limits of my body.

Although acquiring an exponential improvement in strength may seem like a good thing, in reality it is not so favorable. You don't know how much strength you can exert, how fast you can move, how much you can perceive, or how high your stamina is. The huge increase in my mana was also not an easy thing to deal with; controlling the water in a spleen is 100 times easier than controlling the water in a river.

All this creates a very unfavorable imbalance; if you are not able to know your own limit, then you will not be able to control your strength, and an uncontrolled strength is a useless strength.

That is why, during these weeks, I have been training to know the limits of my new body. Now I can run 200 laps around the field before I start to feel tired, whereas before, running 100 laps was enough to leave me exhausted.

Thank God I also managed to control my improved instincts. It was hell trying to sleep while listening in great detail to the creaking of furniture, the wind, and Livia's breathing in the other room, and even if things got a little quiet, I was able to hear my heart beating and my organs moving inside my body. During class time, I would get headaches from simultaneously listening to hundreds of conversations, to the point that I would miss several days because I couldn't stand it.

The same thing happened with my sense of smell, with me almost vomiting in the middle of the street from sniffing the waste of a restaurant or the excrement and urine of animals.

It was pretty horrible to adapt, but after that, it was all advantages. My specs became extremely high, to the point where I could consider myself the best first-year student as far as physical capabilities were concerned. My improved instincts gave me a very big advantage in combat, as well as my mana, which was now so abundant that I could easily fight for hours without exhausting it.

I also noticed other minor changes, like my appetite; I had to eat the equivalent of 5 people if I wanted to feel satisfied; my body temperature also changed in a strange way; my body was warmer than normal people, to the point that at first I thought I might have a fever; I tried to cool down somehow by immersing myself in ice water; but even so, my body was still hot, and in fact, I barely felt the cold of the water even though it was full of ice. Although I have not felt bad with this, Livia said it was comfortable to hug me, so I think it's fine.

But the most important thing, without a doubt, was that I was now able to see the currents of the flow; however, I haven't done anything with it yet. The most important thing was to adapt to the capabilities of my new body, and handling something like the flow was too risky without the proper preparation.

Clank-! Clank-! Clank-!

Now I was fighting Professor Lucius as a practice to fully master my body.

Clank-! Clank-! Clank-!

Moving my sword at a speed imperceptible to the common eye, I was attacking Professor Lucius, who was effortlessly defending himself from all my attacks.

"Make the mana circulate faster through your body; the force with which you attack is inconsistent; concentrate on your movements and the swinging of your sword."

"Yes!"

While Professor Lucius was correcting my mistakes, I was doing my best to correct them.

Concentrating on the circulation of my mana, I made him move more fluidly and quickly, letting him move naturally without forcing it, The grip on my sword strengthened and my movements became smoother and more powerful

Clank-! Clank-! Clank-!

"Good! Keep it up, a little faster!"

"Yes!"

The fight continued until Professor Lucius considered it enough and we stopped to rest.

"You did very well, Arthur; compared to last week, your progress has been very fast."

"Thank you very much."

I thanked him as I wiped my sweat with the towel Livia had brought me.

Professor Lucius suddenly stopped talking and looked at me with a serious look.

"Is something wrong?"

I asked him but he didn't answer and kept looking at me for a few more seconds before he smiled

"Good! I have decided! Arthur, I'll teach you a new technique."

"Huh? So suddenly?"

"Yes, your body is much stronger than before and I believe that this technique will also help you to adapt faster to your new constitution."

After saying that, he took one of the practice swords we were using and walked a few steps away from us.

"Watch carefully."

He said this and swung his sword up and down in a simple motion.

Woosh-!

However, that simple movement generated a powerful gust of wind and the ground in front of the teacher showed a deep cut mark that extended for several meters.

"What the hell are you trying to teach me again?"

"It's a technique that every experienced warrior knows and only the strongest are capable of mastering, what I just showed you was a normal sword hit, however, it harnessed 80% of his strength."

"What do you mean he took advantage of 80% of his strength?"

"When you make an attack with whatever—a punch, a sword, a spear, a knife, anything—you never harness 100% of the attack's force, Many things influence this: wind resistance, the angle of the weapon or the strike, the stance of the attacker, and even the contraction of the muscles—all these things are what prevent you from harnessing 100% of the force of an attack."

Woosh-!

He explained as he performed the same attack as before and although powerful, it was nowhere near as strong as the previous one.

"However, a warrior who has fought on countless battlefields, wielded his sword thousands of times and accumulated combat experience is able to notice these interferences and correct them. Adjust the angle of the weapon, the posture, the breathing, the grip, and contract and relax the muscles at the perfect moment in order to generalize the greatest possible power, or in short "generalize the greatest possible power.

Gripping his sword with both his hands, he slowly raised it, his eyes focused, and the air around him changed completely as he swung his sword up and down

Woosh-

This time there was no gust of wind, not even a breeze; however, a line began to become visible on the ground in front of Professor Lucius until...

Boom-!

A huge slash mark became visible, extending far beyond the training field, Professor Lucius' sword began to crumble like dust and he turned to look at us with a smile on his face.

"A perfect hit"

My eyes widened like saucers as I was completely dumbfounded.

I could see it, and I could understand it a little thanks to my enhanced senses, but even with that little comprehension, I could understand that what Professor Lucius had just done was complete and utter madness

The blade of his sword was completely straight, his grip on the hilt was absolutely firm, he wasn't shaking in the slightest, and his center of gravity was completely centered, I doubt that even a typhoon would have made him wobble even an inch. When he swung his sword, the blade followed completely straight, without deviating even a millimeter, Speed, strength, stance, grip, everything—everything was absolutely perfect, without a single flaw.

"Professor..."

"Yes?"

"Who the hell are you?"

"Me?"

A smile appeared on his face and he replied in a simple tone

"Just a normal person who worked very hard."

"I don't think a normal person would manage to do that even if you let them train for a thousand years."

Livia said skeptically as she looked at Professor Lucius.

"Hahahahahaha! that's fine; let's practice the technique a bit, I'm not asking you to achieve 100% but it will be useful for you to get used to it faster."

"Alright!"

Already coming out of my stupor, I started practicing the technique and Livia also joined in, We swung our swords hundreds of times until it got extremely late and we had to go to sleep

It's clear that we couldn't even come close to what Professor Lucius did.
