The Hex, Part 2

The Hex. The third energy source I learned about. It works differently than both mana and aether. It had both similar and different uses compared to mana. As I continued to read about it from the grandpa's journals I noticed a certain thing about it. A person needs an organ called Hex Organ to be able to use this energy or produce it, to begin with.

This Hex Organ, I remember hearing it in my nightmares. Is it just a coincidence? Nope, I don't believe it is. It is time for some truths to be revealed. But I couldn't find the answers I'm looking for in these journals. So I did the next thing I could do. Practice using or producing hex energy.

Since my body is already capable of producing this energy to some extent I must have Hex Organ somewhere inside my body. The last time I did it was when I was fighting against that strange man and it was accidental at that time. So I have to figure out how to use it without absorbing it from the necklace.

I sat cross-legged on the ground. I took a deep breath and focus inside my body. According to the notes of my grandfather, you should be able to feel the strong energy hidden deep inside your body. He says that it should be easy to sense this energy but hard to tap into it. So if you were able to tap into it even if it's by accident it should be relatively easier to access it.

I could only sense the mana inside my body. I felt some of it circulating throughout my body within my mana paths. I never pay close attention to my mana paths this much after Kairi first created them. Their circulation seemed kind of sloppy. They just cover my body and allow some circulation. I should improve them later.

I continue to look deeper. Because of all this mana, it's hard for me to perceive the hex inside my body. The amount of mana easily dwarfs the hex inside my body. I focus more on my body to perceive anything different than mana. It was harder than I thought. After an hour of continuous search, I still couldn't find anything.

"I still can't figure out how to find it. Grandfather said in his notes that it was easy to notice for us but because of my familiarity with mana I can't find it."

After an hour I finally took a break. I'm doing just as grandpa described in his notes. Did I miss a step somewhere? I checked but there weren't any steps I missed. Then this way just doesn't work for me. What to do about it? Hmm... I have an idea.

I absorbed hex from the necklace. The amount of hex inside the necklace is almost finished. I should refill with when I activated mine or it won't work as a key anymore. Anyway, I absorbed the hex, and slowly circulated through my body. I looked for any kind of reaction. And I found what I was looking for after thirty minutes. I felt a strong force try to draw the hex I control towards my heart.

I found where to look at. Turns out Hex Organ can be anywhere inside the body and it can be in any shape. So it is different for everyone. Also, it might be fused with any other organ from birth, turns out mine is fused with my heart. I focused on my heart and this time I can feel a slight difference compared to the rest of my body. I think this is because of hex.

Now it's time to activate it. This is the hard part, you have to take control of it and learn actively use it not let it control you. I tried to unleash it little by little but I wasn't able to achieve it. It was like a sturdy wall blocking my attempts. I don't know why but I suddenly remembered the mana surpassing seal Kairi put on Lydia before.

Is it possible that someone placed a similar seal on me that surpasses hex? Unfortunately, I can't just deny this. I can't reach hex properly and last time I reached it while I was about to die. I can only think of grandpa who would place such a seal on me. Since hex shortens life span perhaps he did it to protect me.

Kairi thought me a way to lift the surpassing seal I just hope both seals are working with the same principles. I draw a runic word with runes I know. It means "release" and just like its name, it released a wave of mana inside my body. Thankfully it worked and the seal surpassing my hex was released. A second later I felt the now-familiar sensation of the hex.

"This feels amazing. This feeling might be even better than magic. I can feel my body improving quickly."

According to grandpa's journals, hex should gradually fill every cell of my body. If the person doesn't have some special hex ability it's not really circulating or moving. But I can feel the hex inside me circulating throughout my body. When I focused on the circulation of it I can feel something like a thin channels hex is used to circulate. That's amazing. Maybe I should combine mana paths and hex channels into one thing.

Well, aside from the hex channels I discovered something else. And this is a huge discovery. I discovered my own special hex ability. The moment I noticed it I was overjoyed by it. Also, its description roughly appeared in my mind.

Third Eye Of The Insight: It gave as much as insight the holder can handle. It eases the perception of the world around the user. It also gave insight into any and all energy types, spells, abilities, and such.

It isn't a flash ability that can defeat any opponent. But it's an ability that lets me master anything quickly and understand things normally I wouldn't. In the long run, this ability will help me overcome almost every limit placed upon me.
