Lydia Haller (1)

After we joined the club we talked for a while. We just chatted, nothing serious or important, just casual talk. I realized that moments like this bring comfort to my mind, I need them more in my life.

I didn't realize how much I pushed my mind for these last two days, three if I count today too. I constantly think of a way the used mana better than before. Not just this, after the encounter with the trio that searching for mana stone I have been on edge.

I am just a kid. I need more time to relax. Maybe I should do meditation from now on. Anyway, I am hopeful of this whole club thing. Just talking with them made me feel refreshed.

After our little chat everyone left for home. Right now is early September so there is still some time before it gets dark. I'm planning to practice more about mana string tonight. I put water drop training on hold for now. Mana string is more useful to me for the moment. But I have to find a way to increase my mana reserves soon enough. For the moment I can create only two strings. And that is with all of my mana. It is a sad fact.

"Goodbye guys, I need to go home."

"Goodbye!"x2

Hope and Jason excitedly shouted. I don't even know what they find exciting about saying goodbye. On the other hand, Lydia just wawed her hand but she has a complicated expression on her face. I wonder what she is thinking. I have a slightly uneasy feeling about her. But mana training is more exciting than her. Yup, let's go and practice mana strings.

After I separated them I walk faster than normal. When I was walking in front of the supermarket an interesting idea come to my mind. I haven't done any experiments with the liquid mana. What if I mix it with other liquids, preferably drinkable liquids. Like water, sports drink, fruit juice, and more. It is certainly an interesting idea. Worth trying.

I bought a sports drink, orange juice, and a coke. I can hardly wait for the experiments and results. I will try to mix them starting with little amounts. I know that mana has no direct bad effect on my body. From the outside, the only thing I do may look like practicing mana but I also observed my body carefully.

So far there is nothing wrong with my body. Not any notable bad effect either. But there are several good effects. First is my healing speed. It is amazingly fast. Second is, I'm not sure about this but it is better to be sure, speed of my thinking and processing thoughts has become better too. I'm not counting the temporary enhancement it gives.

Frankly, I know the things I listed not yet can be trusted. After all, I only had one day to research. But by the end of the week, I will continue to observe and make a final conclusion. It might sound hasty and impatient, it is impatient, but it is not the case. Mana spot was filled to the brim with mana, and I fell right into it. And to a lake of liquid mana at that. If mana was something dangerous to my body I would have died there.

That's why I think it is harmless when it is inactive. After all, there are many streams of mana around us but it does nothing to us. This morning while coming to school I observed the streams. There are places that have more streams and fewer streams. School is one of the places with more mana streams. And yet no one at the school gets sick because of mana.

While thinking of my theories I didn't notice someone blocked my way. When I caught a glimpse of her I immediately stopped. After mana enhanced my eyes my field of vision grew larger but that makes it harder to focus. Anyway, who blocked my way is someone I know. It's is Lydia.

"You are lost yourself in thoughts again? Is it often happens?"

"Not often to bother me. Did your home is also on this street?"

"No, it's not."

So she just followed me. But I was already walking fast. Is she faster than me? Or she gets in front when I was in the supermarket. Either way, she is fast. She has weak looking body build but it is packing quite a lot of speed.

"I want to talk with you."

"It must be something important that couldn't even wait for tomorrow, right?"

I asked that with a smile but both of us knew that it wasn't a real smile. It irritated me that she interrupted me on the way home. Right when I was thinking about mana. That's odd. Normally I am not like this.

"Today I tried to talk to you but I was too nervous. In the end, only know that I could talk with you."

"t I really have to go home. I have a lot to practice. Can we talk tomorrow?"

"..."

When she didn't reply, I had a sudden feeling of unease. Her eyes narrowed at me. I wonder what she is thinking. It can't be about magic or anything, right?"

"Is it about your eyes?"

It was like a whisper but enough to make my heart skip a beat. Not for any good reason. My eyes glow faintly blue when I use them to see mana. I used them to observe people around me. I used it today at classes too. Did she see them? But no one else noticed!

"I saw them glowing blue..."

It is true! She saw me! Did someone else see me too?! Wait, I have to understand the situation first. I grab her started to walk.

"Come with me."

"Okay."

Does she sound, meek? No, she sounds calm. But there is something else in her voice that I couldn't understand. I will think about that later. First, I need to find a place to talk. The closest and safest place is my home. Mom is still at work.

In just five minutes we reached home. During the way, she didn't talk. She just followed me. I didn't let go of her arm but it looked strange so I hold her hand. This we looked like a couple but this is the last of my worries. I opened the door and walk inside. We went to the living room. I sat first and she sat right in front of me.

"What do you know?"

My voice was low and cold. I catch her shiver for a moment. But she recovered in the next moment. Took a deep breath and focused on me.

"I saw your eyes glowing blue. Then I looked around me but no one else seems to notice it. I didn't know what to think. So I waited to talk with you."

She calmly told everything. Even without activating my eyes, I could see that she is trying so hard to keep calm. Is she really telling the truth? I activated my eyes and looked at her. But what I saw caught me unprepared.
