"I thought you were dead!" I yelled. "Well, many people thought I was dead but people believed that I actually lost to that puny dragon. They underestimated me." He said in disgust. "You however, posses the same ability as me and I cannot allow that, it will ruin my reputation for such a weak human being possessing a powerful ability, so you must die."

The moment after he said that the door literally broke down and Gerald and Lissy came in with terrified expressions. But before they could do anything they froze in place. Everything was frozen in place except for me and Mondred. "This is Time Stop, one of the abilities I stole, as you can see it has stopped time for everyone and everything except for you and me." He explained. "I want you to experience what death feels likes, so tell me how it felt after I kill you." He said. Mondred gave a wide and evil smile and laughed. "Die." Daggers materialized from thin air and were pointed at Gerald's, Lissy's, and my throat. The daggers inched towards our throats. Is this really how in going to die? I failed Lissy and Gerald. I costs them their lives, all I ever did was be a disappointment. I started sobbing "Don't worry, I'll make this long and painful." he said in a pitiful tone. "Stop!" I yelled "Is that really all you can do? You're weaker than I thought." he said in a mocking voice. Then in an instance the daggers were gone, and for a split second I saw what might've been flashes of light entering my body. "You..., annoying human!!!" He yelled. Mondred started to punch and kick me but I dodged with ease and blocked his attacks. I wondered why he wasn't using his ability, then it came to me that I stole his ability! I got ready to punch him back but before I could he turned into a pile of dust. "Damn it!" Gerald yelled. "What's wrong?" I asked. "He cut off his life force." He said. "What does that mean?" I questioned. "It means that the abilities you absorbed are now gone, plus, he used his life force to weaken your body substantially." Now that I think about it, I felt extremely exhausted. I started to see black dots in my vision, then I passed out.

I opened my eyes to a bright light in my face. I sat up and looked around. I was in a hospital-like building, there were bottles of colorful fluids on the counter. I noticed in my hand was a note, it read "Me and Lissy went out to stock up on food, we'll be back by soon - Gerald" The door opened and a nice women greeted me, "Hello, your friends brought you here to the healing center, your injuries aren't major, your body is extremely exhausted and you may experience major headaches. No worries though, you'll be back in your feet by no time!" She said. "Thank you miss." "No problem!" She replied. The lady turned around and closed the door. In the back if his mind he was still thinking of the moment he activated his ability. He felt a rush of adrenaline, he felt overwhelmed by how powerful he can be. But the moment Mondred died all that power was lost and he was his old self again. He felt weak compared to his powerful state. I want to get stronger.

Gerald and Lissy came in. "Now that Mondred is dead there are only 3 Elites left, there would be an imbalance in power and this will most certainly be the time the Demon Race will strike us, and this time we might not be able to fight back." Gerald said. "So what do we do?" I asked. "What can we do?" Gerald looked at me and smiled, "I've got an idea but it's very dangerous and might be our only chance to defeat the Demon Race." "What is it?" I said. "First, you must undergo the Trial of Courage and then the Trial of Heart. If you succeed you could receive power beyond our comprehension." He explained. "What do you mean by 'could'?" I asked alarmed. "Well, it's not a 100℅ chance that you'll get the power we're looking for, since that story is only a myth, but it's better to try than give up. Plus, you'll be popular with the ladies if you do managed to achieve that power." Gerald said that last line with a wink. "Hahaha, well what are we waiting for? My future harem is waiting" And with that, our search begins for the mysterious power.
