Picky Eater

Wen Tjong first contract spirit beast was a Tenghuang a horned flying fox, his second battle spirit beast was an emerald poison spiders which was a quarter bloodline of demonic blood, he was a level 8 spiritual master.

The plan was to get a decent part demon spirit beast over at the dark land, contract demon beast can get into the protected barrier because they are protected by their master spiritual signature which has a blessing of Baihu.

As soon as they cross the west barrier that protected the central plains of heaven descent continent, they demonic essence was brimming from the ground, this pressure was a heavy dark aura. "This dark demonic aura is here because the demonic side has loss countless demon generals in this place!" Tiangou telepathically told Wen Jin.

"This dog is clever! Where do you get it?" Wen Tjong.

"I borrowed it from an expert spiritual hunter, he said that this dog is a failure, but i don't think it was seeing this!" Wen Jin.

Tiangou was held back a bit, Wen Jin speak highly of him to his father.

Suddenly a breeze of pressure was coming from a direction, a pack of wind shear wolves was coming!

"Stand back i got this one!" Wen Jin felt if his father sense something wrong with the dog he borrowed, the whole quest would be compromised. A vortex appeared behind his back, a giant claw made their exit, Xiau Shi was a bit bigger than last time he get out! His father was amazed by the size of the spirit pet, the Rui Shi charge to the pack of wolf.

"Uh! He is smacking them around like flies!" Tiangou.

"Now you know you are barely qualified!" Hongfa.

"Someone is eyeing us from high place!" Jingwei.

"So this is a test, ordinary wind shear wolves never bother with passer by!" Hongfa.

"Please be careful master Wen, this is a scheme, don't show our cards yet!" Tiangou send a telepathic message. Wen Jin nod at him and he did know something was eyeing them, that is why he asked Tiangou to fall back. Wen Jin knew if Tiangou was to act other than his father, the enemy would smell something on them.

"Act easy when an enemy was expecting, but act hard and decisive when they are less expecting!" Wen Jin thinking a loud.

Soon enough the pack was taken out by Xiao Shi, killing the alpha seems to taken care of that!

"Ah! You can contract the alpha, it was a good spirit beast!" Wen Tjong.

"It's to common! I am not interested, my first contract spirit killed it easily!" Wen Jin smiled.

"At least take the beast core to sell why do you left it behind!" Wen Tjong asked one of the porter to harvest the core.

"Here you are sir! It's a mid grade beast core!" The porter handed Wen Jin the core.

"Keep it, sell it for your family!" Wen Jin.

"Thank You sir!" The porter bowed to him.

A middle grade core beast could sell quite a price able to feed a family with decent food for a whole month! There are three porter, the porter looked at his friend "we split this three ways when i sell it!" Two of his friends smiled too.

"Let's Go!" Wen Tjong shook his head.

They walk towards a small hill, that hill was barren with only a stack of a mountain of dirt.

"Ant hill!" Wen Tjong automatically drop his head down, the porters was shocked. One of them whispers to the two others "Corpse eating giant ants.." the faces of the three frowned in fear!

This type of ant is a picky eater they only eats human remains! Every human they meet was meat for them, there are hundreds of them on that ant hills. Each ant hills in average size corpse eater giant ant has about four to five hundred ants, their queen has the biggest ant size.

"Look at that barren field, it was their domain!" Wen Tjong "Let us go a round it, it would be safer than to cross it!"

"You all to late! The ants has detect you!" Jingwei

A swarm of ants suddenly lift up one of the porter! "We are dead! Run!" The other porter was scattered!

"Watch out!" A vortex formed behind Wen Jin, Da Shi jumped and a shoot of fire spewed at the ants, on that moment two ants suddenly appeared next to Wen Tjong.

There are gap holes from the ground "Entrance! We should clear out this area!" Wen Tjong.

"Help me!" The porter that was picked up was being taken to the nest entrance!

"Do not go after him, let him taken!" Wen Tjong.

Each of the ant was a level 2 spirit beast, it was a low tier beast, the ant it self was a earth element insects with a thin undead element traits, so Da Shi fire element attack was fending them off!

"Father i just want to save the porter! I will hurriedly back! We meet at that peak!" Wen Jin pointed to a rocky hill a high place that was a rather far from the barren field, but visible to the eyes!

"Jingwei, Tiangou watch my father! Hongfa come with me! Da shi guide the way!" Wen Jin telepathically then went inside the nest trailing behind the flame spewing Rui Shi.

"Jin!" Wen Tjong worried face frowned.

"Woof!" Tiangou bark!

The bark bring back Wen Tjong to his senses "okay! Lead the safest way!" He ordered Tiangou. Wen Tjong knew the dog was an expert guide, from the looks of it, it was telling him to follow it to a safe place!

The tunnel of the nest was winding and steep, Wen Jin was surprised the nest was rooted deep on the earth layer. The red fur cat was now in a form of a red haired slender man "i will use a sealing formation to camouflage our scents, the low level beast could not tell the difference!" A formation of rune glowed on Wen Jin fore head and Hongfa. Wen Jin asked Da Shi to get back to the spirit beast space, Hongfa was enough to guide him!

After quite of time he met several dozens of giant ants they are about four feet high and six feet long, about a size of a burden carrying donkey. They are stronger and can lifted a burden ten times of their weights, with Hongfa seal they can not be detected, even when they are brushing body to each other, to the worker ants they all were ants.

"A white ants with two legs, and no antennae!" Wen Jin thinking aloud again.

"Do not speak! You would blow our cover!" Hongfa warned Wen jin with a telepathic communications, Wen Jin nod at him.

"Blood! Fresh blood!" Hongfa telepathically then pointed at the ground.

They both followed the blood trail having some hope the porter still alive after all this!

The trailed of blood stopped at a room, Wen Jin can feel a very strong pressure of strong aura behind the wall, many worker ants goes into the room and come back what it seems to be eggs!

On that room the porter was found mutilated, he died in pieces!

"Damn we are late!" Wen Jin telepathic and look at Hongfa who looked down to the porter body and shook his head "his chance was slim anyway, we better got out fast!"

Wen Jin saw something glowing near the dead body of the porter, it was a unique golden egg and several ordinary black ant eggs.

"A future queen egg!" Hongfa telepathically told Wen Jin, he surprised and stand next to Wen Jin with a gaping mouth. Suddenly Wen Jin has an idea "brother Hongfa can you lend me one of the cage that you have to catch the Jueyuan!" Wen Jin.

"Sure!" Hongfa let out an artifact that could imprison evil beast, since the ants was partly undead by element they can be caught using this cage and preserved in frozen time state! Wen Jin knows this because he got the quest details that were given by Baihu. With careful he took the golden egg and a dozens of ordinary corpse eating worker ant eggs. After that he give the cage to Hongfa "store this for me!"

Hongfa obey him without saying anything, they suddenly the room shook! The terrible aura detected on the next room was moving towards this room!

"Who dare to kill my daughter!" It was the corpse eater giant ant queen, that has a golden body, she was sensitive about anything that was changing suddenly on her nest!

The golden egg and the queen was connected in some way, when Wen Jin taken the egg into the cage and store it, the link was broken, the golden egg aura just stop abruptly that the queen felt her eggs has been destroyed or killed by something on the eggs nursery chambers!
