Luo Meng and Luo Xian'er

"Follow me to meet the person in charge, sir."

The receptionist said, walking ahead while James followed behind and looked around curiously. 

After they arrived in front of a room on the second floor, and before the receptionist could knock, there was an old man's voice from the inside, 

"Come in." 

James immediately scanned the room and was surprised when he scanned the people inside while unintentionally smiling viciously, as he informed Little Fluffy of his plan. 

James walked inside as the receptionist opened the door and gestured for him to enter alone.

As he walked inside, James saw an old man in a white robe with long white hair sitting in a chair, stroking his long white beard as he looked towards him.

The old man was surprised when he examined James, as he couldn't detect his ranks. A few seconds later, the two beautiful women who acted as the maids also showed surprised expressions. 

After James stepped inside and sat directly in front of the old man, one of the beautiful women, who was younger than the other, immediately prepared a glass of tea and poured it in front of James, while the older one was pouring tea for the old man. 

The younger maid was gorgeous, with a graceful body that was already quite mature, and silver hair that was just slightly longer than her shoulder. She was dressed in a black and white maid's dress. 

The older maid, who appeared to be her sibling, had a similar face, though her hair was longer and her body had already matured compared to the younger one. 

"Hello, since this is our first meeting, let's get to know each other first. My name is Luo Bai, but you can just call me Old Bai. I was recently transferred here from another kingdom to act as the manager of this branch." Luo Bai, the elderly man, smiled kindly while introducing himself. 

"Ohh, nice to meet you, Old Bai. I'm James. I only want to auction these treasures, how much do you think these items could be worth if they were auctioned?" James asked, getting straight to the point as he cupped his hands and immediately took out the treasures he wanted to sell.

When Old Bai saw these treasures, he maintained his smile while a light flashed across the depths of his eyes, secretly wondering whether this young man named James either had solid nerves or simply wasn't afraid at all. 

However, knowing he couldn't even detect James's rank made Old Bai cautious, assuming this young man had a special high level treasure and a really strong background.

"Hmmm... I don't know the exact price, but I'm pretty sure that the price of these items would be higher than usual due to the large number of people attending because this auction might be considered one of the largest auctions in this city in recent years." Old Bai responded.

James nodded in response and immediately asked, "Can I have a few small requests? If I am satisfied, I might add a few higher level treasures than these three." James smiled as he calmly looked right into Old Bai's eyes. 

At first, Old Bai frowned upon hearing James's request, because even the strongest person in this kingdom wouldn't easily ask for a favor from the branch manager of the Luo Heng Chamber of Commerce, let alone multiple requests at that. Moreover, he himself was not a 'normal' branch manager. 

However, he returned to calm after thinking for a second. Of course, it wasn't because of James's promise to add a few higher level treasures, rather, he was curious about what this mysterious young man was up to, so he decided to listen to the requests first. 

Unknowingly, the two beautiful maids were staring at the Old Bai, as if they were waiting for his response.

"What is it? Tell me about your so-called small requests first." Old Bai smiled and stroked his beard softly. 

The two maids' eyes lit up when they heard Old Bai's answer, as they had not expected such an answer. 

However, they quickly concealed their expressions and looked at James as if anticipating his requests. 

"I would like to buy materials for two peak rank 8 breakthrough pills and one material each for refining swords with water and fire attributes at peak rank 8, 

as well as each material for refining armors with water and fire attributes at peak rank 8. I want these items delivered to me at most before the auction begins." James requested.

Old Bai was taken aback by James's request and wondered, 

'Does this young man have a background related to alchemists and blacksmiths? 

Does he come from a big sect? But how could he have peak rank 7 fire magic books with him? Is he also a descendant of a big magician family somewhere? 

But then, why did he want to buy these materials? Did he intend to use it for himself after requesting an alchemist master and a blacksmith master? 

However, based on his face and appearance, he appeared to be in his twenties at most, therefore reaching peak rank 8 at that age was impossible. 

Fuck, I don't want to think too much and guess anymore, his request is nothing anyway.' 

James smiled while waiting for the answer and looked at Old Bai's expression, which seemed like he was thinking about something for a while. 

James also noticed from the corner of his eyes that these two gorgeous young maids appeared to be observing James and Old Bai's response, but he pretended not to notice, and it's not like he cared about it either.

"No problem. I can even give these items to you now, as I happen to have them with me. What else are your requests?." Old Bai threw a space ring at James. 

James caught the space ring and immediately instructed Little Fluffy to check the items.

After confirming that there was nothing wrong with the items, James made his next request as he looked at the tea on the table, "Can you give me a good wine? As I prefer wine over tea." 

Old Bai was quite puzzled by the request, but he waved his hand, taking out a bottle of wine from his space ring and placing it on the table. He then glanced at the younger maid as if instructing her to pour it for James. 

The younger maid quickly prepared a glass and poured the wine for James. 

"What a gorgeous maid! May I know your name?" James smiled as he looked at the younger maid. 

The younger maid was stunned and froze for a second, surprised that James was suddenly speaking to her.

However, she quickly regained her composure and looked at James, 

"Thanks for the compliment, young master James. You can call me Luo Xian'er." Luo Xian'er smiled gracefully towards James. 

"Is she working as a maid here?" James asked Old Bai. 

"Of course, not only her, her elder sister is also working here as a maid." Old Bai replied calmly while stroking his beard. 

"Hello, young master James. My name is Luo Meng." The older maid cupped her fists and bowed while introducing herself after Old Bai mentioned her. 

James simply nodded at her before turning back to Luo Xianer, "Why do you want to work here as a maid? Why don't you work for me instead? Don't worry, I'll pay you more than you currently earn." 

Old Bai immediately frowned when he heard it and spoke to James with a serious look, "Young master James, we don't do that kind of business here." 

"Ohh.. Really? I've heard that once a young master took a fancy to one of the workers here and paid her a high price to let her work for him. 

Do you think that I couldn't afford it compared to those so-called young masters?" James smiled playfully, glancing at the old man as if waiting for his response. 

Before the old man could respond, Luo Xian'er asked James with a slightly forced smile, "This... What kind of work would I be doing if I worked for you? Why do you want me to work for you? Can you tell me the reason?"

"Well, it's basically the same as here, as my personal maid. As for why, I simply felt like it." James answered while smiling at Luo Xian'er. 

"No, what happened previously was not under my command. I just happened to arrive here yesterday and took over the position as the branch manager, so I'll be in charge of everything that goes on in this branch. You could try at another branch, but not here." Old Bai interrupted their conversation. 

"Alright then, I appreciate your decision. Here's another item that I want to auction, take a look at its quality. How is it?" James took out another item and placed it next to the others.
