This was what Malik was drawn to see by the guide as he sat resting within the dungeon. He had expected something like this though.
Everyone in the world had this moment. A moment where the world itself and the system pushed them to choose a class. Not many people his age would reach this level. Especially since they did not fight enough to get to level ten so easily.
Only those with families that pushed them to do so or that brought them out to fight real opponents would reach level ten and have a chance to fight for a class. But this was odd, from what malik remembered, many people would do so at level fifteen, not ten. Or maybe he was wrong.
Regardless, he looked at the message from the guide and the system as a whole. He had to make his choice. "What are you focused on? I thought you would be resting or meditating." Jen had not left Malik's side. She saw how he was too tired to really move. She also understood why.
The depths of battle he had fallen in to was not just because he was fighting to get stronger. She understood that Malik had fallen in to his own form of enlightenment where he needed to fight. Even though she did not know about his quest from the guide, she felt that this was the reason for it. He was solely focused on battle because of his own personal desires.
"I was going to meditate. I am eating the clay man and clay golem cores. They are good for me to get stronger with." Malik sighed. He knew that he was also gaining a better understanding of earth mana manipulation while he did so. The more he meditated, the faster he could fathom the new information benign engraved in this body. The new information suddenly appearing within his mind.
"What do you mean eat!?" Instructor Jen had heard that Malik had eaten goblin flash since he thought it was food. She also knew he was fine after eating it. But a monster core like a golems!? That was ridiculous.
"It's hard to explain but it will help my earth resistance. It should be normal for humans." Malik's voice was unsettled which showed Jen that she should just ignore it for now.
"That aside, what else are you thinking about so hard?"
"My class quest. It appeared earlier than I thought and I have to decide on a class. I just don't know how to do that." This made a lot of sense. Anyone would struggle with this.
"Some classes are based on your race. They are only accessible because of what race you have. Just like the fairy needle swordswoman, the tiger claw martial artist, or even the roaring dragon mage." There were just examples, but well known ones.
"Others are based on your unique experiences, battle master is one of them. He is at your academy and you take his class. He learned various weapons while ignoring his class change quest until he had the opportunity to take the battle master class that let him use all those weapons whenever he wanted."
"The last are the unknowns. Classes that appear because of a god or goddesses actions. Classes that appear due to random items. Even someone that experienced something entirely unique may get a never seen class."
This was one that Malik worried about. These unknowns could appear much more clearly when it came to the body he possessed right now. The body that he did not wish to have. "What classes does the world system offer you to take quests for? If you don't like them we can have a training session in the city library to search for one you like."
'The classes available are great in number. From the current situation, I will sort out the useless classes that are not relevant to your desires. Crafting classes will be removed…'
The guide was already acting based on what Malik wished. He was sure that many of the classes were there just based on the many body parts that made up this body.
'The classes available are as follows due to affinities, current skills, body aspects, and various other factors.
Sage- due to elemental affinities in balance
True magic seeker- due to affinities and magic understanding growth rate
Elemental staff master- due to staff skill and affinities
Master Shadow assassin- due to dagger and dark mana affinities…'
Many other classes existed like this. But some were unsavory.
'Eldritch chimera- due to eldritch vessel race and multiple body parts being perfectly combined. This will become the user's race as a monster.
True eldritch emissary- due to the creation methods of the body. Will give up soul to assume this class.
Walker of destruction- due to various instinctual aspects of the body. Will lose mentality to corruption much faster.'
There were various others like this. All focusing on losing his mind and becoming closer to a monster. Some even focused on the curiosity that was starting to cause the corruption to grow even more.
"Whatever you see can always get better. The classes you have as an option can grow if you take your time. You can always let the experience pile up. Eventually, your body will be able to properly consume and adjust to it." Jen saw the worry on Maliks' face and knew it was a rough decision.
'The spark of divinity is destroying potential class options. Classes have been altered.'
Malik's eyes were wide when he saw this. Every option was erased but for a few that remained.
'Vessel of the eldritch god of the unknown- due to race as an eldritch vessel
This class accepts the existence of the body and the proper pathways to be taken over by the god of the unknown when the vessel is powerful enough. The divinity will be used to destroy the soul and prepare the vessel over time.
Divine mimic- due to the various perfect body parts and spark of divinity
This class will forcefully change the race of the host over time. As done so, the body is enhanced and the mimic blood is purified. This allows a greater adaptability and growth rate of monster parts, or other racial skills with divinity as their center. There is no growth potential beyond this as the race. It is the highest form of mimic that can exist.
Seed of the unknown- this is only possible due to the spark of divinity that resides within the body.
This class is unknown. Due to this, the potential for this class is unknown. It focuses solely on the unknown divinity within the body. It has the classifications to ensure that all skills of the body and elanred are available. All affinities are available. All potential is available.
The more the user carves their path out of the unknown, the more defined this class will become. This is a growth class that switches multiple quests throughout its lifespan until a certain goal is met. The race of the user will also change depending on the accumulation and acceptance of divinity along with the unknown.'
All three of these new classes were unsettling. One that's literally meant he would lose his own will. His soul. It would be the end of him as Malik and the start of him being part of the cult that caused so many the pain he wanted to prevent.
The second was the same as becoming a monster through and through. Who cared if it would be the best of that monster. The absolute top of it. Even if it had the word divine in it, he couldn't just accept that. He wanted to be him, not a monster!
The third was the only one that Malik stuck on. It was unknown what it would be. But could he trust it? The curiosity for the unknown to him was causing the corruption. Or was it the divinity itself? Or was it this god that was attached to him as his race was a vessel for it.
There were mentions of carving his own path though. Changing his race to suit that path. Couldn't that mean he could separate himself from that god? Or couldn't it at least mean he could resist it better? If that was the case, then there was only one option there.
'Class quest for the first stage, seed of the unknown is being created. Prepare yourself.'
sorry not sorry, but the mage classes couldn't match up to this suggestion, I liked the name better too
