Chapter 4: We Could've Been Friends

[ Overhaul... The Capo of the "EightFold Cleansers", huh...? ] Deku muttered as he continued to walk under the bright lights of the crowded city.

Holding a pencil, and a piece of paper in his hands, he started to write something.

- Hero Analysis For The Future: No. 42 - Quirk: Overhaul - he wrote on the top corner of the paper.

As he continued to write in the piece of paper while blindingly walking in the corner of the street, he suddenly bumped into someone.

SFX: *Bump*

The pencil and the piece of paper Deku's holding fell to the ground.

He then immediately sat down to pick them up.

[ Hey! Watch where you're going! ] the girl he bumped into shouted at him.

Hearing the protest of the girl, Deku stood up and faced her. He then bowed his head and apologized.

[ I'm sorry... ]

SFX: *Sparkle~

[ Uwah... ]

As if she was stunned by the appearance of Deku, she unconsciously let out the sound of amazement from her mouth.

She thought that Deku was very charismatic and the type of guy she likes.

[ Excuse me? ] as if being confused by the sudden change of attitude of the girl, Deku awkwardly asked.

[ Umm... Ano... My name is Ochaco Uraraka! It's nice to meet you! ]

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the girl introduced herself. She then bowed her head and held out a single hand towards Deku - waiting for him to shake it.

Deku immediately thought that the girl was weird but he still decided to humor her.

[ My name's Midoriya... It's nice to meet you too... ]

Introducing himself, Deku shook the girl's hand.

[ Midoriya... Kakoii...! ] Ochaco whispered to herself.

[ Umm... I'm sorry, but I have to go. ]

[ Huh...? Oh... Right... Can I ask you where you work? Are you a waiter or something? ]

[ Aaa... I work at a bar near here. ]

[ Oh? Is that so!? Where is it? ]

...

[ I'm sorry...But that's a secret... ] Deku answered with a sweet smile on his face, the same smile he always does.

[ Uwah... ] Ochaco immediately turned red.

[ Anyway, I really need to go now. I'm sorry about earlier. ]

Leaving the girl alone.

Deku decided to continue his walk.

And not a moment later -

SFX: *Riiing~! Riiing~!

The phone inside his pocket rang.

He took it out from his pocket and put it close to his ears.

( We're here, Boss. The group's already assembled. Should we infiltrate now? )

[ No, wait for me, I'll be there in a moment. ]

As Deku answered his phone, he continued to walk in a calm manner.

Mister Compress - Quirk: Compress

[ It seems like everyone is already here. ] said Deku while folding the piece of paper he just finished writing at.

[ Of course, Boss! ] ( Spinner )

The large lizard man, Spinner, replied as he then readied his large sword.

[ How's Kacchan? ]

[ He's fine Deku-sama! ] ( Mister Compress )

Mister Compress replied with a gentle man-like tone.

[ Well, at least some parts of his body is... ] ( Magne )

Magne, the large man carrying a large magnet on his back added.

[ Is that so...? Then, Kurogiri. ]

Calling his name, Kurogiri immediately went in front.

[ You guys will take care of the minions, I'll get the boss myself. ]

[ [ Hai!!! ] ]

[ Kurogiri. ]

[ Hai! ]

Without Deku telling him what to do, Kurogiri immediately knew what he meant.

As Kurogiri's eyes shone brighter, eight portals appeared from the thin air.

[ Be careful, Deku-sama! ]

[ Uhh~! I can't wait to see Deku-sama's most serious face! ]

[ Hey! Watch what you're sayin' Spinner! ]

[ Anyway, focus on your own enemies. Make sure to come back alive. ]

[ [ Right! ] ] They all immediately replied.

[ Then, Let's go! ]

Shouting those words, they all went inside the portals all at the same time.

- And the view in front of them instantly changed.

Exiting the portal Kurogiri made, Deku entered a very large dark room.

[ Huh...? Who the hell are you...? Where the hell did you come from? ]

Inside the room, a man wearing a strange mask immediately noticed Deku and asked him.

Deku only ignored him and continued to walk calmly.

He then stopped and put the piece of folded paper in his pocket -

[ Let's just say that I'm here for a senpai's unfinished business... ]

Deku answered.

[ What...? ]

[ Are you "Overhaul? ]

[ And what if I am? ]

[ ...Is that so?? Then this would be easy. ]

Deku then raised a finger and -

SFX: BAM!!!

Out of nowhere, Overhaul suddenly got hit by a large piece of metal on his side.

SFX: CRASH! BANG!

Overhaul was thrown to the wall and he then fell to the ground.

[ Chaa-! ]

After getting hit hard, Overhaul puked blood on the ground.

[ ...Tsk! Psychokinesis!? ]

He mutteres angrily as the pain raises into his body.

With the Quirk of the enemy, he immediately knew that he has the disadvantage in the sudden fight.

But -

[ Hehe... ]

Overhaul made a smirk on his face.

[ What are you laughing at? ] Deku asked, confused.

[ I guess you're now pretty confident that you can beat me, huh? But that was just a fluke. You won't hit me twice with the same attack. You're not the only one with a Quirk A**H***!!! Take this! ]

Shouting those words, Overhaul put a palm on the wall and then -

Thousands of solid spikes suddenly appeared on the ground - every one of each can impale a man to death.

...

The enemy got instantly killed...

At least that's what he thought.

[ Wha-what!? ]

The enemy he thought was already dead is now floating in the air.

[ Flight!? How...? ]

[ What you said may be right, I may not be able to hit you with the same attack twice, but that means I can hit you with different ones every time, right? ]

[ Are you saying you that have more than two Quirks!? ]

[ That's right... ]

[ But that's impossible... ]

[ It is! And you can see it now. ] Deku said with a laugh while still floating in the air.

[ You Bastard... Just what the hell do you want...? ]

[ I heard that you are hiding someone here... Someone with an Incredible Quirk that I may be able to use... ]

[ What!? Where did you here that from!? ]

[ Now - Now, we're still in the middle of our fight. We'll talk about that later... Well, if you manage to survive. ]

Hearing those words, Overhaul suddenly felt fear for the first time...

His enemy is incredibly confident about himself, and from his tone, he was sure that he would win the fight.

Overhaul isn't sure of what the enemy's real Quirk is, so he's afraid of what might happen or what he's going to show next. He also can't use his most dangerous weapon since the enemy is keeping their distance far from each other which will make the fight even harder for him to win.

And just like that, Overhaul's confidence earlier turned into worry and his face easily showed it.

[ ...Please don't get so easily discouraged like that... ] this time, it was Deku who has the smirk on his face.
