Chapter 10: Nina

It was finally the day I could go back to the Centaur village. "Ok well thanks for the help brother and sister-in-law. We best be going now." "Hey Calder take care of that daughter of yours." "I will do my best. Thanks again." Father carried me over to the gate and put me on Sparkles who was worried about me. "What happened? You were gone for a few days." "Sorry things happened. I will be in pain for a couple of days. Just go at the same pace as yesterday. It may hurt but I want to get back." "Ok then." "Ready Rhylie?" "Yes father lets go." So our horses galloped on. We took a break then headed back towards the village and finally got there.

"OK lets get you to the healer then I will take those two and have the stable boy take care of them." "Ok father." He carried me to the healers. "Hello. Anybody here." "Coming." Said one of the healers. "I had her checked out. She just has some aches. She strained herself to the point of making her nose bleed. Please take care of her." "We will give her some medicine to help her sleep so she doesn't sneak out." "Thank you." "OK Rhylie. I'll take Sparkles and Blaze to the stable boy and get some work done." "OK father." He kissed my forehead and left.

Prince noticed that Blaze and Sparkles were back. Since he could understand animals he asked Sparkles what happened to Rhylie. "She is in the healers right now. They gave her medicine to make her sleep so she doesn't get up. She strained her body to the point of making her nose bleed. According to her father." "Ok I will talk to the healer. Thank you Sparkles." SO he headed out.

"Hello healer." "Oh Prince. I take it you heard about Rhylie." "Yes may I see her?" "Yes she is asleep now. You may go in." "OK thanks." He went to Rhylies bedside and saw how she looked. She looked to be in pain even in her sleep. "Oh Rhylie. You need to stop this. You are going to kill yourself if you keep this up." "Hm.. Ha..Ha.." "Rhylie are you ok?" He felt her head and she had a little fever. I'm going to get the healer. "

"Healer. Rhylie feels like she might have a fever. Her breathing is getting pretty heavy too." "Ok let me go see her." They got into Rhylies room and she looked worse. She started looking a little pale. The healer felt her head and said. "Yep she definitely has a fever. I have to call in the head healer. Find out what's causing this. Just aches and pains wouldn't be causing this fever. You need to stay here with her. I will be right back." "Yes sir." Said Prince. So he left quickly to find the head healer.

"Oh good. Head healer. Its Rhylie. Something is wrong with her." "Take me to her." The head healer followed to Rhylie's room. "Oh boy. She really is pale. I better check her out. You said all she had were aches and pains from straining herself, right?" "Well yes. According to her father that's all that happened." "Hmm. Ha…ha… Father." "She does look in more pain than before. How long has it been since you gave her the sleeping shot?" "About a half an hour." "Good. Give her the shot for the pain. If that doesn't work I have to find out what's causing all this." "Yes sir." He gave her the shot and in a few minutes, she was calming down. "Lets hope it works through the rest of her healing time."

After a few days Rhylie was starting to wake up. "Hmm. Where am I?" She was confused at first then realized where she was. "Father? Prince?" "Yes we're here Rhylie." "Why am I here?" "You don't remember?" said Calder. "Do you remember going to the castle of flowers?" Then I thought about it for a minute and remembered. "Oh yeah. I cleared some of the village." "How are you feeling?" said Prince. "I feel re-energized. Like brand new. I don't know why." "Its what happens when you don't escape from resting." Said Prince. "Hehe I guess so. I had no choice. They gave me a sleeping medication. So when do we train again?" "Woah now. You just got better. Lets wait until tomorrow. Until then go walk around the village. Maybe hang out with Ezra he always seems bored." "Yeah good Idea. Bye guys."

I went to Ezra's house and knocked on the door. (Knock Knock) "Coming!" said Bane. "Oh hello Bane. I'm here to hang out with Ezra. I'm Rhylie." "Yes I know. I'll go get him. Ezra! Rhylie is here to see you!" "Coming dad." "Bye dad. See you later." "Be good Ezra." "Hey Rhylie I heard you were in the healers. How you feeling?" "I feel great. Your uncle said that this is what happens when I don't sneak out." "Haha you do that too huh?" "Yeah I can't just sit in bed all day doing nothing. There so much to explore." "I know what you mean. Want to got into the forest with me?" "Yeah lets go." So we ran to the forest and started chasing each other around.

I stopped for a minute and Ezra looked worried. "You ok Rhylie?" "Yeah I'm fine. I was just thinking. I broke the spell that Prince put on me. I can probably sing something now." "Are you sure its safe? Father told me about it." "I hope so." "Ok then go ahead." (She sang the song of wind from Lost song which I don not own. You can find it on youtube.) While she was doing it, a nice breeze blew through the forest. Then she finally finished. "Wow you have a beautiful Voice." Said Ezra. "Thanks Ezra." Then I felt a presence. I said, "Ezra go back home. Tell your father I was in trouble and I can take care of myself. He will probably get your uncle and my father to look for me. I'm sure they will know where to look." "Be careful don't die on us." "I'll try not too." He ran back to the village and I turned around. "Hello Nina." "Oh so you did sense my presence. Very good. I also noticed you are starting to clear the air at the old flower castle." "What do you care Nina. I know what you want and I am not going to do it." "Oh really? So you know what I want? If you know why don't you tell me." "You want my voice to use as a weapon." "Uh no. well part of it. Its not so much your voice I want. It's the power inside you." "You mean my dark power?" "Yes I only need a little bit of the voice as to not stain you but your power is different. My moms plan was to use your voice as a weapon until it killed you. I didn't believe in that. I don't want to kill you I want to use you." "I will come with you willingly but you have to promise to leave the centaurs and my family alone." "Yes Yes that's fine. Now come." I hopped on her Pegasus twilight and we flew off.

Just as they left Prince and the others just saw Rhylie fly off with Nina. "Shit. We were too late. Calder you might have to miss a few days of work." "Yeah I'll have mizuki send a letter to my master." Mizuki was a messenger bird. Bane send a letter to my master by Mizuki. Prince and I are going to rescue Rhylie. "Alright. Be careful out there." "I will you know me." "Yes I do that's why I worry." "Haha alright I will do my best not to get hurt." "You better." "Ok men lets go back to the village." Then Prince and Calder headed towards Nina's dark lair.

"She must have broken my spell somehow and sang." "Oh yeah I forgot to tell you. She did. When we were at the castle she sang the song to clear some fog." "Why didn't you tell me idiot! No wonder Nina came after her." Then they quickened their pace hoping Rhylie was ok.

"I'll show you to your room." Said Nina. "My room? Aren't you going to throw me into a dungeon and torture me until I do what you say? That's what a normal kidnapper would do." "Hehe. Well as you know I am not a normal kidnapper. Follow me." I followed her to a certain room. When I opened the door I was surprised. It looked like the things were made from the forest. I looked at Nina. "I thought it would suit your tastes and make you feel at home." "Why are you being nice to me? Just because you are doesn't mean I will use my power." "I know. Once I give you time to get settled, I will come by and get you. We will talk about why I need your power." I nodded. Then she left and I was alone in my room. I checked the drawers and closet. She had clothes for me here as well. I crashed on my bed and closed my eyes for a bit. "Father mother and brothers. What are you doing now? Also Liam. I want to see you." I whispered to myself and felt tears roll down my face and wiped them off.

After awhile there was a knock at my door. (Knock Knock) "Yeah come in." I said. "I came to get you. Follow me." I followed her to a place that looked like a small office. "OK So lets talk about why I need your dark power. You know what It can do right?" "All I Know about it is it's a greyish fog that makes people depressed. Singing a certain song helps clear it away. Why would you need such a thing to make people depressed?" "Well the stronger you are the more depressed a person can become if you try. To the point of killing themselves or dying from the symptoms." "If you want me to kill someone, why not do it with my voice?" "Like I said I don't want you to strain yourself." "I see so you know what happens to my voice when I sing." "Yes I do. Every time you sing a part of you dies." "I just love singing. Maybe that is why I have been feeling strange this whole time." "By the time you clear all that fog, there might not be much life left in you. It would take a miracle for you to live more than a year or more." "I figured as much. I'd rather lose my life than see these people suffer." "You are a goody two shoes aren't you?" "I guess so." "My mom was right about that part of you anyway." "I'm sorry to hear about your mom." "She was sick. I tried to heal her and the healers couldn't do anything either. Its fine." "So you never told me what you want my power for. I need not only one person but a few people killed. I'll have you look around the town here and you tell me if you think they deserve to live." "Ok take me to the town. I will see for myself." Nina took me to the town and we walked there staying hidden. Then I saw what she was talking about. The way that these people treated eachother. I got so mad the some of my powers started blasting out. Then covered half the village. "Oops sorry." "Yes! I knew if you saw this you would let out your power." "No! I know they don't deserve to live but it was an accident." "Come see the other part of the village." "No! I will not. I am not doing this anymore. I told you this was an accident. I can't stay here anymore." "I sang the song of wind and eventually got away from Nina. I was halfway there when I saw my father and Prince. I lost focus and fell. I didn't scream because I was exhausted.

Father ran over to me and I was barely awake. "Rhylie! Oh my god! Rhylie are you ok?!" "Hmm." "Can you talk?" said Prince. I was too exhausted to answer then and closed my eyes. "Let's get her home quickly." "She fell pretty hard. You think she is going to be ok?" "I hope so." They Ran like the wind and made it home. They rushed to the healers once again. "Healer quick its Rhylie again. She fell from the sky. She must have used the wind song and lost focus. She fell pretty hard. She didn't say anything or move at all. She closed her eyes." Said Calder. The head healer rushed over to look at her. She has a concussion. She will be fine with rest. She couldn't move from the shock of falling." "Oh thank goodness." Said Calder.
