"I have not seen the stars for what feels like centuries," Pharai gently twisted as his head rested on my chest. His maroon-burgundy hair spread across my chest and partially on the white sheets that were tangled with our bodies. 

We laid naked on his bed, the room I barely entered when Ruthor was younger. When we were both younger. I had only visited Ruthor's room twice, both when she had snuck me in when Hathor and Horus were gone. It was stupid, she had her own kingdom and I had mine but she wanted me to see her home. 

It made my skin crawl knowing I was in my enemies home back then. I still wanted Horus dead. I blamed him for everything that had gone wrong in my life and unknown to Ruthor I was simply using her to get closer to killing her father. I did not know she was my mate when I met her at the river but the instant our eyes connected, I knew she was the one.
