Ariana was on the verge of rejecting the offer once more, but the Elder's compelling gaze held her back. She was already grappling with a multitude of challenges, and the thought of adding another burden to her mind was daunting. Yet, she couldn't deny the allure of the offer.
"Then, I'll think about it."
"Good. Also, don't hesitate to come here after this. I might not be able to offer much help, but at the very least, you can confide in me and I can serve you tea. I understand the profound loneliness that you are currently battling. I'm sorry that this is all I can offer you." The Elder's words resonated with Ariana, making her feel less alone.
Ariana shook her head.
"No. To know that the door here is always open for me is already comforting me enough. Thank you, really."
She really feels touched at this point. To know that there's someone who knows about her true story makes the burden in her heart a little lighter.
