“What is MCTD?” Luca interrupted.

“Mixed Connective Tissue Disease,” he answered.

“What a mouthful.” Luca smiled, now that he knew he’d achieved his goal.

“It is an incurable condition that sets in when the connective tissues of the body…” she began.

“Whoa, Doctor,” Luca held up his hands in surrender. “I’m tired and I need to go home. I own a computer company. I know how to use the internet to find the details. In the meantime, please take care of my—of Mr. O’Shea. I will be here at ten tomorrow morning.”

“Yes, of course. Good night, Mr. Ferone. I’ll be off duty, but I’ll leave a note for the day staff.” They shook hands. He turned to Nurse Conti who was hovering in the background.
