Chapter 47: Too Soon?
"Good morning sleepyhead!" Alex cheered in a soft voice as she sat on the bed next to a half-asleep Birdy.
Birdy groaned and cracked her eyes open to glare at Alex, feeling extra disgruntled by the energy in her tone. It had been about a week since they'd had their first date and they hadn't been apart since. They had fallen back into their original routine with Birdy staying the night ever since - the only difference was that they had shared a bed every night.
"Go away!" Birdy grumbled as she shut her eyes again.
Alex laughed and put the coffee mug she was holding down on the bedside table next to Birdy, gently prying one of her eyes open with her fingers. Birdy grunted in annoyance and glared at Alex before starting to sit up slowly.
"Fine," Birdy said in a grumpy voice. "I'm up, what do you want?"
"I brought you a coffee," Alex responded with a smile. "It's time to get up. You have a lot to do today."
