Chapter 10: The Morning After
Birdy's eyes fluttered open as she slowly started to wake up, becoming aware of her surroundings. She spotted her dress and shoes on the floor, not far from the bed. The room started to spin slightly as she sat up tentatively and leaned her head back against the cool wall.
She was definitely not sober yet, she wasn't drunk either but most definitely not sober. She furrowed her forehead as she went back over the sequence of events, trying to see what she could remember.
Alex had invited her to go to an afterparty for Marc and Alaia, that she remembered clearly. She also remembered meeting Marc and having a drink with him but from there…things were more than a little hazy. Birdy hadn't had that much to drink since college and she'd never had that much expensive champagne - it definitely packed a different punch to the cheaper stuff.
