Sylvie, A New Companion

The spirit awakened her bloodline and her body seems to have grown from a 5-year-old to a 10-year-old. After observing her aura, I realized that she became a 2-Star Spirit. After she came out of the pool Aella who couldn't control her curiosity asked her what her bloodline was.

The spirit's smile widened and she told everyone that she awakened the bloodline of the 'Chaos Spirit". As everyone was congratulating her Fiona exclaimed and said, "Your aura feels similar to my brother". As she heard this the spirit's eyes locked onto mine, and she descended landing on the ground. Unexpectedly, she knelt before me. Aella who was bewildered, asked the question that echoed in everyone's minds: "Why do you kneel?"

The spirit's voice, though soft, carried immense weight. She began, "During my evolution, I heard a commanding voice. It told me that to continue evolving, I must serve the future Chaos Dragon. My ancestors were once of those powerful beings. Now I pledge my loyalty to you—the one destined to become the Chaos Dragon."

Hearing this I remembered in my past life that the chaos dragon did have a powerful spirit as a subordinate. I responded in a serious voice saying "I accept" and then I immediately changed my tone to be friendly and told her that she didn't need to be so stiff. Even if you are my subordinate, you are our friend.

Hearing this the spirit was delighted and suddenly Fiona asked the spirit what her name was. Everyone stopped and stood still for a moment and the spirit was the first to break the silence and asked me to give her a name. After her request, everyone glared at me as if to say 'Give her a good name or I will kill you'.

I pondered for a few minutes and finally decided on a name that suited her. From now on your name will be 'Sylvie'. Suddenly her body glowed a bright light and when the light dissipated, I didn't spot any changes in her and suddenly remembered something.

I asked Sylvie to say Status and when the other heard me say this everyone's attention turned toward Sylvie. She didn't understand why I told her to do that but listened nonetheless and did as told. Then suddenly a screen appeared in front of her.

Name: Sylvie Darkwood

Stage: 1 Star

Race: Forest Spirit

Bloodline: Chaos Fairy

Talent: Forest Guardian [SS]

Skills: Chaos Vine (lv-1), Spirit Shield (lv-1), Forest Guardian (Lv-1).

Everyone was surprised by the status of Sylvie but I wasn't because I knew she would go on to become the strongest one in the forces of the Chaos Dragon. And this level of talent is appropriate. So, after all of this, we finally did what we set out to do. We covered the entrance with Adam's and Sylvie's power.

She already became a 1-star spirit Huh! Aella was confused after seeing her status and asked why her Stage seemed different from ours. I quickly spoke up saying maybe the evolutionary path of spirits is different from us. After hearing my explanation everyone assumed that to be the case.

I heard from a powerful Spirit Saint in an interview that spirits directly evolve in major Stages but the evolution of each stage requires large resources but the spirits who successfully evolve will be many times more powerful than people of the same stage.

I asked why there was a name "Darkwood" after Sylvie and she replied that she didn't know the reason. I thought for a second and assumed it was her family name. It should have been given to her by her ancestor when she was evolving. And when I gave her a name it combined with the family name.

Afterwards, we returned to the place of the massacre and we built a mansion with Terra and Sylvie's powers. The mansion is nothing special we just made four big walls and covered the top with similar blocks using Sylvie's "Chaos Vine" skill and carved windows and doors using Aella's "Air Blade" skill.

We made 10 rooms: one storage room near the tree, one main hall beside the tree, and 8 small bedrooms beside the main hall and front of the tree. We also made a pergola outside the house and built a large fence around everything to create a complete home.

We wanted to make a 9th bedroom but Sylvie said she doesn't want to sleep on the floor and would rather sleep on the tree. So, we didn't argue as she was a Nature Spirit and she would most probably prefer to sleep on a tree. Before we went to sleep, we held a meeting in the main hall to decide what we would do from now on.

I asked the other if they had anything they wanted to do. Cyrus and Ramiel glanced at each other and said they would like to spar with each other to grow stronger. Noelle after thinking said she would like to do absolutely nothing and chill at home. Aella wanted to explore the surroundings.

Adam wanted to fortify their territory and make more things for the home. Fiona and Ciara wanted to hunt monsters to get stronger and stock up on food in case of an emergency. I thought about their ideas and pieced together a schedule that fulfills everyone's needs.

I started to explain my plan: We all help Adam create more things for the house and fortify this place. Then we hunt at least 5 monsters each and bring back their carcasses. Then we each contribute information for the large map at the house. Then in the evening, we can spar to control our powers better. After completing our tasks we can rest while Sylvie stays guard.

Noelle initially protested, but I told her she could skip helping Adam if she assisted with all other tasks, allowing her ample free time. She agreed, and so did everyone else. I was about to send everyone to bed when Aella asked about my goal. After deep thought, I answered seriously, "I want to get very strong so that no one will ever bother us." Everyone laughed and nodded in agreement, and we all went to sleep.
