The Horror (I)

It has been two days since Ryu started going with John to help him. Now today three people are in the forest, as Roland joined. Two are hacking the tree and one is keeping a lookout.

Roland was keeping watch and letting the father-son duo work. This does not mean he was slacking. The role he was playing was the most important one.

In this part of the crimson forest, there are not many beasts that can harm John, as he also has combat experience and when to retreat.

the reason for Roland to be here was to make sure that no harm comes to his loving grandson, as Ryu does not have any combat experience if any wild animals come in the way he can make use of them for Ryu's experience.

At this moment, Ryu smacked the tree with all his strength. His whole body was drenched in sweat and his breathing was heavy.

As he and John smacked the tree, after an hour of work later, it fell, making a loud noise.

"Boom.."

As the tree fell, the trio went behind the bushes. This was not because of their cowardice, but because they cared about their lives.

After a few minutes, Roland stood up and said,

"It seems no wild animals are coming this way. We can start our work,"

As he said John and Ryu stood up, but as usual, John stopped Ryu from working saying

"You will only help with smacking trees for this week. Remember the state you were in two days ago?"

As Ryu heard this, he stopped and became a little nervous.

The reason for this was what had happened two days ago. As he overworked himself, his whole body pained that day.

Amilia gave him a message that day to ease his muscle pain, and she warned him to remember the limitations of the body.

Thinking about seeing his mother getting angry if he overworks himself, he felt a shiver in his spine.

The anger that Amilia showed when he got injured still lingers in his mind, As he saw another side of his mother.

That day he learned that 'Mother can be scary if you don't listen.

So Ryu sat down again, then he looked here and there. After some time, his eyes fell on Roland, who had a little worried face. Seeing this, Ryu asked,

"What happened Grandpa? you seem to be worried?"

Hearing this, Roland said,

" Hmm, I am getting a feeling of eeriness for some time. I don't know what it is, but I hope it's nothing."

getting an answer Ryu again saw here and there but he found nothing so he said:

"I see nothing. Do you see something, grandpa?"

Roland shook his head, saying, "I don't see anything, so maybe it's nothing."

As this feeling of eeriness was lingering around Roland, there was another living being was looking at the three humans.

It was not human.

This was a beast that was looking at Ryu and John for the last few days. It wanted something to eat, but John and Ryu both were in the Body awakening realm.

But this beast was in the Body Strengthening realm. It would only eat anyone of the lesser realm if it did not have anything to eat. This was another reason it was looking at John and Ryu.

It was planning to eat them as it was hungry for some time, but today it saw a prey that was worth eating and so it began to think of attacking.

As John began packing the wood pieces, the creature knew it had to move, otherwise, these humans will go away and it would lose its chance to have its prey.

John stood up, holding the woods in his hands while his axe was placed on his back with some cloth. As he was about to walk, he heard rustling behind the bushes.

At this moment Roland, who was with Ryu sitting, stood up and shouted, "

"John, get away from there"

As John heard the voice, he threw the wood in his hands towards the bushes and ran towards Ryu and Roland. As the Wood pieces fell on the bushes, it appeared.

Two golden eyes with black fur, while having Blue straps all over the body making it look like the Darkness is on Pure fire. It stood there growing as the wood fell in front of it.

"Grrrrrrr..."

"It's a Lentor. Be careful, it is in the body-strengthening realm," Roland shouted while gauging the enemy.

At this moment, the Lentor was also starting to examine the enemy. Although it was watching them, it was not there all the time.

As it found that these humans make a massive sound when they come into the forest, it would wait for that.

But seeing the humans on guard made the Lentor angry as it planned to take one weaker one down before attacking the stronger foe.

The problem was, as he was about to attack, the human shouted and made its plans go awry. The Lentor began taking slow steps toward the trio.

As Roland saw this, he hurriedly said,

"John, get your axe ready. I will hold this beast in one place, and when you get a chance to attack it"

As John heard this He tensed up, he had already removed his axe from his back and was ready to attack the creature.

As Roland spoke, he was ready to attack the beast.

Roland was not your everyday joe who will get afraid of a Lentor in the body-strengthening realm. Roland was an experienced cultivator.

He fought with many beasts and had many experiences in battle in his prime, though it cannot be said that he fought anything above the body-strengthening realm, but he had fought a peak body-strengthening beast.

Roland was confident, so he readied himself and his weapon. He glanced at his side and saw John.

Roland regained some confidence. If it was one-on-one, it might have been hard, but he was not alone.

So Roland spoke again.

"Ryu, fast and get behind us and climb that tree," while pointing at a tree behind them.

just as he was about to take a step forward, he stopped,

'Why did Ryu not move yet? He should be going towards the tree, so why is there no sound of him moving?'

As this thought came into his mind, he glanced at Ryu and saw that Ryu, who was still on the ground, had a terrified look on his face.

Ryu seemed fully shaken as he looked at the Lentor, who was also looking at him. As their eyes met, Ryu's fear rose. He wanted to move, but couldn't.

Seeing this, Roland shouted,

"Ryu, wake up and get behind us"

Seeing an opportunity, the Lentor attacked Ryu as he seem terrified of it. It wanted to take out the weaker ones so they would just hinder his hunt.

The Lentor paced and lifted its paw with Big Sharp fangs toward Ryu.

"RYUU"
