Weird...

[No ones pov]

Todays task is a rank duel after 3 months of training,the 1st duel starts.

Each member has to have a duel with another member of the opposing rank.

"Students,Ill announce which rank and student will compete with each other for this task" said King Yuzhi.

"Rank B vs Rank C,Rank A vs Rank D" he soon announced.

"And the last pair to compete are...Prince sanwol and Xianye" he said then dropped down the scroll.

"Gosh im not ready for this" Xianye Whispered,he clutches onto his clothing and tugs them occassionally while trying to relieve his anxiety.

"Why does Father have to pair me with Sanwol?!,he is a great Fighter how can i compete with him?" He whispered.

"Now let the Duels begin!" King yuzhi said.

The 1st pair starts from ranks c and b.

A disciple from the Lan clan,vs a clan member from the Maharlika nation.

"Lan clan has very fluid Skills while The opposing clan has Strength and agility...good thing we are using Hard wood sticks" he mentally spoke while observing the duel,Honestly trying to distract his anxiety.

"Woah!" They all reacted,Well of course Sanwol didnt.

The lan disciple did a move but the Maharlika clan member managed to quickly dodge it.

"WOW!" "And your duel ends here!*snap*"

The King ends their battle with the snap of his fingers as the Maharlika clan member tackled down the lan clan disciple and Won.

"It seems like that this Maharlika clan member Has improved alot,You are now on the C Rank Congratulations" Said King Yuzhi.

"And you Lan disciple,Thank you doing your best,You may claim your rank again in our next duel" Said King yuzhi with a bright and comforting smile.

[A few duels after][Xianye Pov]

"The final duel,Between the A rank vs the D Rank" said Yuli

I took my Combat stick and slowly walked over to the battle ground.

"Goodluck" I said.

He grinned

The Sound of the Go signal sounded.

Sanwol Started charging

I dodged his Attack and Attempted to swing but missed.

He missed me when he started to swing

I Flew over him and swung my combat stick horizontaly hitting him in the back,but he dodged.

"Gosh his relfexes are On point" i whispered.

I decided to use my skills and shut my eyes and concentated while Flying around to dodged his attacks by the sound of the swings of the combat stick.

I finally got focus and used My ears to Fight.

Hearing his footsteps from the south and the sound of the swings from the back,I knew he is going to hit me by swinging his sword vertically and hitting my crown(Head)

So i dodged to the East and spun while floating in the air and landed.

Im really good at these martial arts moves.

Those are the 1st things i learned,rather than Swords i learmed it From Yuli,she loves to Dance so she thought me when i asked her.

Swings and charges and Dodges,our Duel was the longest and the most inticipating.

But one mistake made by me ended it.

I fracking tripped.

I tripped on his foot and fell over.

I fell on my stomach,having no time to focus while my eyes are closed so i opened it.

But i felt another weight on my back.

"I finally gotcha" Said sanwol  above me while holding my head up and the combat stick on my head like he is going to slice a line on it.

"You need more practice,Jared"

"Um...Can you get off me...our position is kinda...inappropriate,Hehe" I said

"Oh" he said and got off me.

"Congratulations Prince Lee sanwol,you had managed to keep your rank" Said King yuzhi.

I got up and Did the ending bow with Sanwol and headed out of the Training grounds with a Heavy heart.

"Gosh this is so dissapointing" i said as I sat by the corner outside the Training grounds.

"With just a Single trip,I cant even make it right" i sighed as I said it.

I felt so dissapointed in myself again.

But to be honest swords Arent my type to hold.

I just like to stroke things like Paintbrushes

"Yo yo yo,wait!" I said as she Drags me and Flew with me in the air to fly over the walls and into her room.

"Why am i here?" I asked.

"I brought you here for something" she said and took out a big box of

"Papers?" I asked.

She nodded and showed 2 paint brushes and Ink

It took me just a second to realize

"Now way..." I said in a Happy shock

"Yes way" she said

"We are making Talisman spells?!" I said

She nodded

"But should it be with human blood?" I asked

"No you idiot,You may summon a demon with it,Using human blood might Use Demonic aura then turn you spell into a demonic one" she explained

"And besides your Golden core Isnt even fuller developed yet since your not an active cultivator,unlike me and Zhangxe" she said

"And without a fully developed one you may have a hard time using spells" she said.

"Well I can do some spells like protection spells and shied spells" I said.

"well thats the only thing you can do,In your age you should already learned how to Exorcise and Summon spirits,and you have already developed your golden core,you are literally falling behind other teenagers there,so thats why I am here to mentor you into fully developing your Spritiual energy and core" she said.

I nodded and sat opposit to her.

We started with some Paper puppet spells that you can control.

It is also used as toy by kids these days,they can make it at a young age.

Next are Exorcism talismans and Anti Ghost and Demonic spirit spells that prevents demonic Spirits and things from getting near you and many more

(A few hours later)

"Oh no" I said as I looked at the Sky outside.

"What?" Yuli asked

"I have to go for something now,Thanks Yuli!" I said then ean off

"How the fuck did I forget that i have Instrument lessons from Sanwol"i said as I quickly ran.

"Im here!*pants*" I said as I opened his door but i knocked and barged in.

"Good,I wont wait for you if you are going to come late" He said and sat on the table where the Qin is.

I lowered my head down "Sorry"

He let me sit next to him and started the with the continuation of the basics

And took out books of Songs and Melodies from Cultivation songs to normal songs.

"If you hit a wrong note,you have to repeat again" he said.

I nodded and played the melody that he thought me.

He said that it is the melody of the song from his kingdom that his great grandma Composed.

I looked at the book of all the songs written and composed by his family

He has his own composed song but its Forbidden by him.

Everything is in korean so he sings the korean lyrics while i play the Qin.

"And i will Find you and i find our lost love" He sang the last part Charmingly in his Baritone voice.

"Was that in english?" I asked ofcourse in Chinese.

"Yeah obviously" he said.

"My family was visited by americans so we know english but not all of us  especially in my generation" he said.

I nodded not wanting to ask more or else it will irritate him.

"You have a nice voice to be honest" i said in a complimenting way

He didnt look at me and said "thanks"

"Your welcome" I replied.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" I asked in which his face slowly turned into an annoyed one.

"No" he said in a straight tone.

"Why?,Arent you the only one left in your family?,then who will be the heir with your own blood when You die?" I asked.

He inhaled deep while closing his eyes and exhaled.

"Look...Im the Crowned prince of my own kingdom and that means that i can choose whats best for my Kingdom and besides,im focusing more on developing myself rather than focusing on someone else that will become irrelwvwnt to my life...in conclusion,I dont like Love" He said in a Mad but calm tone.

"But why?...Love is good for you,your heart and soul needs it" I said.

He then slammed his hand on the table and stood up.

"I said i dont like it, prince Huang Jared Shixianye,You may leave my room its getting late" He said with a poker face.

"Ok,ok,ok,ill go now,Goodnight" I said then cleaned up the stuff and went out of his room.

I went back to my room to put the books of songs that he wanted me to practice alone.

Tomorrow is the 2 days break so i have sometime to practice

"Where is that flute" I whispered as I rumage through the chest in the corner of my room.

"Found you-ew its dusty" I said as I blew on it.

All the dust came off but i wiped it clean.

And a c key flute that i made with older sworn sister Yuli.

I also hove smaller key flutes but this c key one is my favourite.

I decorated it myself but i can only play a few notes and songs.

I opened one of the books of thag i have here.

And tried playing one and

Coughed because the damn dust entered my esophagus.

Then played it again

With the use of my musical memory,It brought back so much memories  from the past 7 years.

It's been 7 years since I last used this flute and played the songs

It all stopped when I gained more interest on arts.

As I played more notes and songs

It came from the box behind my bed.

"Oh yeah right my emblem"

I approached it and it busted out of the box and Flew around me in a excited and happy way.

"Woah woah woah,Calm down you Hyper Creature" I said it circles around me.

Then it soon calmed down and Landed on my Hand.

It glowed brightly indicating its good mood.

Maybe it got Excited because of the music.

I picked up my flute but the Emblem Landed on it.

It emitted a Brightblue and white strings and It wrapped around the Flute redecorating it.

"Woah how did you do that?" I said and picked the new looking flute.

It has the same patterns as the emblem.

"Oh so I think you possess the Flute?" I spoke to it and it shook up and down,indicating a Yes.

I nodded and played a few notes.

It emitted white and blue colors which shook me.

"Wait how can did it emit magic when I haven't even fully developed my core?" I said.

The emblem charged towards me and hatred my chest, which glowed.

"Woah...is this my golden core?" I asked and it did the Up and down thing.

I Raised my hand slowly in a meditating way and surges of Spiritual energy came out of my hand and my core glowed Deep blue and gold.

"My core is developed" I said and smiled.

I picked up the emblem and Placed it back in the box. But placed it in the darkest corner of my room.

"You still need to stay hidden but thankyou" I said and closed the box and placed my flute in its stand.

I went out to get some fresh air.

I walked around the garden but something caught my eye.

A piece of Talisman stucked on a tree.

I took a look at it.

"Who would put a Talisman in the palace's tree?" I whispered.

I couldnt get what type of Talisman it is,but im guessing its a Exorcism talisman placed by the Royal night hunters.

It has the Strokes of a Exorcism talisman so I should not touch it.

So I just left it alone and shrugged it off and continue my late night walk.
