Food Source

"Are you not eating that?" he asked confused, and Flora looked at him surprised. She then noticed the other one he was holding and asked, "Could we not, please?" Her tone was gentle as she explained, "I found a way to hopefully grow some food so just a few days and if my plan doesn't work then we can eat them, yes?"

"But I can't just live on vegetables," he said, and she smiled saying, "I packed some meat before, what do you want to eat, fish, chicken, pork, beef, and I also have eggs."

He sighed before saying, "Fine, but these things run fast so it's best to injure them," he reached for the hare's legs, but Flora stopped him.

"There's no need, see," she said as she created a chain around the hare's neck and let it down, it tried to run but after a few feet the chain pulled it back to her. She reached for the other hare, and he passed it to her.

"Oh right, I wanted to ask if you could create more flames," she asked placing the hare down and the two walked inside.

"I can, how many?" he asked, and she smiled saying, "Just 4 more," He nodded as he closed his eyes, and his hands moved together slowly as a bright light was created in the center of the two palms. He repeated the steps a few more times before he finished.

"You should rest," Flora said as she gathered up the flames. He nods walking over to the bed-like structure. He didn't sleep but he did close his eyes and sat down as Flora started to work with the other flames.

She had a total of 6 different vegetables growing within the next few hours. Flora had used up most of her energy now so all she did was sit down as the hares came to her and she held them closing her eyes.

...

Azrael glanced around noticing the sleeping fairy in the corner and he sighed getting up before picking her up and placing her on top of the bed where he was sitting. He looked at the hares who rushed to sleep next to her and he turned glancing at the warm light coming from the flames he created.

It was a feeling of contentment he didn't know how to explain. He sighed thinking, "I might be going crazy after being alone for so long," before he walked out of the cave again.

Flora woke up hours later again to see no one was outside, she sighed her track of time was being diminished and she needed to find a way to track it. She flew up, after chaining the hares to the wall, to find nothing but ice and cold winds, strange why was she feeling cold?

She frowned focusing on the chill and it was on her back. She turned to fly down when she noticed a familiar figure. She smiled at Andras only to frown upon noticing the creature behind him. It was the same species as the one in the sky she shot. Andras slid into the rift and as he did the bird's attention was drawn to Flora the next best thing.

Flora flew into the rift only to be caught by her feet. Its claws dug into her skin as she tried to fight it. She was able to get herself free but at the expense of injuring her legs. She fell into the rift after being dropped by the bird. She tried to recenter herself as she flapped her wings.
