"How did you know?" Ysabel asked Kian, the latter smirking as they sat on the bench hidden among the oak tree that stood close to the end of the garden.
"Someone had to follow you or the queen might think you had run away for the rest of the evening."
Ysabel pursed her lips.
"How thoughtful of you."
Kian shrugged.
"I'm only looking out for a friend," he uttered, emphasizing the word 'friend' heavily. Ysabel snorted at his expression, shaking her head but also grateful for his persistence to follow her.
Had he not been around, she would have been forced to expose her hiding spot and revealed that she was spying on the couple.
Although in her curiosity, Ysabel would have preferred that to happen.
Her curiosity would have been satisfied. However, was it wise to expose that she was onto them, whoever they may be?
Pursing her lips, Ysabel let out a sigh.
