Chapter 6

Brian didn’t ask, he just drove them home.

“Nice place,” Angel commented, when Brian let them into his apartment.

Angel headed in first, carrying the food bag and gazing around at Brian’s home.

Brian followed him in, wheeling Angel’s case. He shut the door after him, and set Angel’s case by the sideboard. “Uh, well, it’s not much, but——”

“No, it’s great,” Angel insisted. “I like what you’ve done with it.”

“Thanks,” Brian managed, feeling the blush creep up his cheeks. “Um, I’ll just get some plates for the food.”

Angel huffed a laugh. “Plates? Aren’t we going to eat out of the cartons like men?”

“Uh…I don’t know?” Brian said, taking off his jacket and shoes. “Are we?”
