I Want to Become A Demon Slayer

<Fey's POV>

"Shinobu-san?"

After being in her care for so long my grudge against her had mostly disappeared, although this means I'm even more affected by her beauty.

She walked to the side of the bed and turned the blanket over revealing my neatly bandaged leg. It seems that aside from being one of the Hashira, Shinobu is also a physician and is rather knowledgeable when it comes to poison.

She gently raised my leg, undid the bandages, and proceeded to inspect my wound with great care.

How cute.

"Seems like it is healing nicely. Thankfully the wound wasn't too big, which means from now on you can start using crutches to walk around and get some fresh air."

After having said that, she carefully bandaged my foot once again and handed me a pair of crutches, which she got from one of the closets nearby.

"Here. How about we take a short walk, there's someone who wants to meet you."

Who could that be?

Either way, while I hate to admit it, I'd love to take a walk with her. Seeing her beautiful face is really soothing for my soul.

"Sure, but who are we meeting."

She looked at me and chuckled.

"Someone special. Come on, better move on or I'll leave you behind."

That's odd I don't remember acquainting myself with anyone of importance lately. For a brief second, I thought she might be talking about her boyfriend and once these thoughts took root in my head they wouldn't leave.

Perhaps my face looked rather dark for Shinobu stopped and tilted her head. She looked confused for a few seconds but then she brought her finger to her lips and thought for a while before replying.

"If you come with me I'll give you a special reward."

No good. I think my heart skipped a beat there.

"W-w-what kind of reward?"

She smiled, almost as if she expected me to react this way. Dammit, she played me! Even so the curiosity is killing me. She clapped her hands together and gave me a brilliant smile.

"Well didn't you ask me out before? How about I come tomorrow and we can spend some time together."

WELL WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? LET'S GO!

"SURE!"

I think I played it cool there.

On our way out, we ran into three little girls. The one with black hair that's been tied up into two low-hanging twintails is called Sumi Nakahara. Next to her Kiyo Terauchi, who has short black hair with a few strands hanging off her forehead. Then lastly is Naho Takada who has two braided twintails tied up with a cute little green butterfly clip.

They are the servants of this manor, as well as the most adorable trio of nurses I have ever seen, not that I've seen many. These cute little kids were the ones who took care of me when Shinobu was busy with her demon slayer duties.

Although I must admit there was one rather awkward incident the day I was stabbed where I had to go to the bathroom. I could still remember their blushing little faces, how cute.

There are two more people living on this manor but it seems they are not here at the moment.

"""Good morning, Shinobu-sama."""

"Good morning. I am just taking him to see Ubuyashiki-sama, I won't take long. I'll bring him back in one piece."

I could feel my eyes twitch as said that. Wasn't she the reason I was here in the first place, her words seem a bit unreliable.

"""Okay!"""

Sometimes they talk in unison, which I find really adorable. I should buy them some sweets on my way back with the money I was given.

After walking (limping in my case) for a short while we came upon a grand manor surrounded by tall and vibrant trees. The scene looked very serene and I could see the wind gently blowing on the leaves. It seems Ubuyashiki-sama has a lot of money, but so what, that isn't gonna stop me at all.

"We're here. You go on ahead, I have to meet up with someone first. I'll wait for you after you are done. Just go past the courtyard and he should be there waiting for you."

Having left these words Shinobu gave me a pat on the back and walked away.

Good, I'm looking forward to meeting him too.

A couple of steps in, and I have to admit this Ubuyashiki fellow is extremely rich. I can see beautiful water paintings and intricate vases adorned with blooming flowers everywhere I look.

There is also a small little stream running through his courtyard, with a couple of small fish swimming about, and a mini bridge connecting both sides and sitting on the opposite end of the courtyard, I saw him.

holding a cup of tea with both hands, he gently took a sip and turned his face towards my direction.

"You must be Shiro? I apologize for the sudden invite, I wanted to wait until your wounds had healed before calling you."

His smile gentle, while his silky black hair fluttered gracefully with the wind. His kimono was also straight as was his posture.

It was as though he was the very definition of grace. Every action he took, every word he spoke, and every breath he took seemed to be as serene as the landscape itself. He looked so natural as though he was a part of nature itself.

"I wish I could've come to visit you myself, but I'm afraid my body won't allow it. In that regard, I hope you can forgive me."

Unfortunately, as graceful as he was he had a single blemish covering the better half of his face, as well as part of his arms. Although I was initially slightly hostile to the idea of meeting him, now I can't help but feel guilty for being petty.

It seems that he was sick and from what I've seen so far this world isn't very technologically advanced, which means he's probably not going to make it past his thirties.

"Please come closer, although I can't see you I don't want you to feel awkward standing over there."

I approached him very slowly, as though my very being there would kill him even faster, and then sat down a couple of feet ahead of him.

Once I was comfortably situated in front of him, the air shifted and he bowed his head slightly towards me.

"Shiro I'm afraid we've wronged you."

"Ahh?"

"We put you in a very dangerous situation, and not only did we fail to rescue you properly, but we even put you in prison and interrogated you harshly, and for that, I apologize on behalf of the Demon Slayers Corp, Shiro."

At this point I realized that he might actually be a very important figure among the slayers, he might even be the leader, which I found to be rather surprising. The leader of such a powerful organization is actually so sickly and pale, can he even hold a katana in his current state?

I was also rather surprised that such a dignified figure would bow down and apologize to a nobody like me, and it felt rather refreshing. Finally, I could feel the last bit of resentment leaving my body, if anything I actually somewhat pitied him.

I... I'd think like to help them.

Either way, I need something to do while I wait for Sirius to wake up, and he did say that I should try to solve the people's misfortune. Maybe that will give him strength, or maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to live out my dream.

Yosh, I've decided.

Having said these words, I stood up suddenly, faced Ubuyashiki-sama, and declared my intent to him.

"I want to become a demon slayer!"
