The Demon Twins

"I've heard the rumors but you two truly look nothing alike." "Does it matter?" "I suppose not, kill me off then." "It's my turn, Louis." "Get on with it then." With a loud laugh, the giant man brought down his hammer. With a squelching sound, a head was ground to a paste. This story centers around twins, starting off from their youth they go through a gradual progress in getting stronger. The stronger they become, however, they realize more and more that they will never get peace. *** Disclaimer: Firstly, this is my first long novel. This story will be slow, hopefully, I can do proper world-building. Power progression also won't be all too fast. I have no editor, so grammar might be off at some places. Hopefully, you'll enjoy reading it.

Chapter 5

The middle-aged man, around the age of 30 who came into the room was wearing a black blazer and white shirt underneath, both of which had no signs of wrinkles. He also held a small cane, similarly black, although it didn't seem that it was used to support his walk. His face was stern and showed his age clearly.

The man soon walked to the front of the class, "My name is Jack, you all will refer to me as teacher Jack for the next ten years. Similarly, I will be your teacher for the next ten years. As you all know, this is a school for those who wish to have an advantage when attending your mandatory military service at the age of 16. As such, I will not go easy on you from the start, even if all of you are young."

"Firstly, there will be a ranking test every two months, in which we will go over the power of your attributes, and your developments in them. But what matters isn't how much you develop, but rather how powerful it becomes by the end of it. This is based on individual performance. The military will only want results, and we will hold the same principle. All of our classes will be based on war, there will be separate rankings for theory and individual power, but the individual power ranking will always be held above theory. I will take no questions." Several students with their hands raised could be seen flinching.

Jack, or rather teacher Jack immediately led the students outside, where there were several dummies used to practice their attributes. Jack hit his cane on the ground which made walls of dirt from the ground in front of several dummies before saying, "The more walls you pass through, the higher your score, after passing through all the walls it depends on how much damage you do to your dummy."

The children murmured among themselves, they were informed ahead of time how school life would be by their parents, but they had never heard of having to go through walls of another attribute before hitting the dummy. Teacher Jack seemed to turn sterner by the second. Louis, who had been studying teacher Jack's expressions from the start asked a question, "Who will go first?"

Jack's stern expression had a hint of slight approval, "The one who goes first will get extra points because you've asked first you have the choice to choose your order." While the other children looked on with dismay, Louis thought quickly to himself, the walls are all made of dirt, freezing it would only hurt me. "Do we have to go through the walls in one blow?" "No, you can spend as much time as you want to get to the dummy, you'll only get one blow on the dummy though."

Louis smiled slightly, it's easier than I thought. "I will go first."
