the trip to main island Part 3

"What is going on right now?" thought red as he could see the women dancing and saying things like. "I finally don't have to only see my mother and sister any more" and also "I can finally make a friend."

"I think this was a bad idea" thought red. As he was about to return to his root body he hears "So what do you want to do."

Red "turn around" and looks at the women as he could see the outline of happiness on her face. "Are you going to trust me that easily" said Red with Telepathy. "Well if you try to attack me I can defend myself from you. After all I am a rank S creature."

Hearing what the women said Red became a bit confused.

"Rank s? What is a rank S" said Red while looking at the women.

Hearing the words of red the women was taken aback. "You don't know what ranks are? Strange I thought all monsters did" the women said while looking at Red.

"Since you don't know about it let me explain. Ranks are titles that gods or greater beings have given us. It determines how strong we are. The weakest rank is F while the strongest is S. Of course there are more ranks above S, but those could only be accomplished by God's. There have been exceptions to this rule, but they were usually beings blessed by God's."

"Ranks have another purpose except for ranks. It is able to make any beings weaker to you submit to you, if you are higher rank than them. Like so."

The women then lifts her hand up and points it at Red. When the palm faced his direction he was hit by a wave of pressure. As if he was being pushed down by a Boulder. No by a mountain.

The women then lowers her hand and the pressure then disappears. "Ok you do it to me" said the women ready to be hit.

"Uh how do I do that" thought red as he had no clue what to do. He then remembered his skill [Aroma], since it was close to sending pressure he used it. He decided to make it smell as fear making as possible. He then released the skill.

"Ok I'm going to release it."

"Ok I'm ready." Said the women expecting a weak pressure. As she waited she smelled something in the air. It was faint but she could still smell it. When she focused on it, she was hit by a wave of fear.

The women fell on her butt, with fear in her eyes. The fear she felt was making her body tell her to run. She couldn't believe that a small thing was making her terrified. As she looked at the flower she could see a faint outline of a little boy standing behind it. She couldn't see the boy clearly, but she could see one thing.

The boy was smiling.

The smile sent shivers down her spine. She was feeling despare, she began to think "I'm a rank S creature how is this being making me terrified to this point."

The women was losing her mind as she tried to think. This scene was caused by a single skill of his.

Seeing the women act like this, Red changed the smell of [Aroma] to one of peace and tranquility.

When the women smelled the Aroma she began to calm down. She was finally regaining her senses once again.

After a couple of seconds of taking deep breathes, she was back to her original state of mind.

"Ok so was that your full pressure" said the women as she was looking at red. "Yes that was it."

Hearing that Red sent his entire pressure at her she breathed a sigh of relief.

Ahem*

The women cleared her throat. "So do want to play anything" Hearing the women's words red said one thing.

"Yes."

After that one word Red said several.

"But first allow me to create a appropriate body that allow us to play any game" said Red as he began to use the skill [Root body]. The reason he agreed to play with her aligned with his goal. To pass the time, even though it wasnt killing monsters, it would still pass time.

"Ok I can wait as long as you need" said the women as she sat back down onto her chair and stared at Red.

Red began to create his root body. A mound formed underneath the flowers, and over time it grew in size.

The mound finally burst open and what appeared was not Reds regular Root form, but instead one that looked completely different.

Instead of regular elbow of a humanoid, it had a sharp point that went stretched about one foot. It had several flowers growing on its back and it had an open mouth instead of the closed one. Everything else, including the flower on its face, was the same.

Red looked at the women expecting her to be freaked out in his appearance. But instead he saw a face of joy "wow so this your humanoid form" said the women who had sparkling eyes and was looking at Reds body at different angles.

"What is with this women" thought red as he felt weirded out by her. After she was done inspecting she walked by to where her seat was and grabbed her book. She then started flipping the pages of the book as if she was looking for something.

She then tapped her fingers on a page and said "Wait here I'll get some things we need to play the game." She ran out of thw built in garden room and after a couple of minutes came back with a small box.

"Were going to play a game known as poker."

"Okay" said Red not knowing what poker was.

"Can you tell me the rules?"

"Of course" said the women with glee on her face. "Here are the rules we will bet chip pieces as points, and who ever has the highest amount of chips wins."

Hearing the explanation of how to win red still had one question "Ok but how do I play?"

"Oh right" the women went I to great detail on how to play the game. It included the usual royal flush hand and the pair as well. The usual things that are in a regular poker game.

"Actually let's make it more interesting. The loser after each round of poker will have to answer the winners question, do we have a deal."

The women extended her hand out towards red. "I only have one big secret so I don't mind telling it a bit" thought red as he shook her hand.

The game began and the women opend the box reavealing cards. She placed them on the table and began to shuffle them. When she was done shuffling dhe handed the deck to red "go ahead and shuffle." Knowing what he had to do red began to shuffle the cards at a high speed. After the shuffle the women put two chips into the pot and they marked the start of the first round.

After the first round which ended up with the women winning she asked the following question "what is your species."

Hearing her question. Red answerd truthfully "I'm known as a petal flower. We are treasured by demons and used to increase their strength, though my kind is usually used by the royals."

The women looked at Red with wide open eyes for a bit until she grabbed the cards and began to shuffle again. Red handed her his cards and she shuffled them as well.

They played the second round and the women also won that round.

"Tch how is she getting good cards" thought red as he folded.

"Ok second question. Are you related to the Demon of the forest."

Hearing this question Red thought for a bit "do I know anyone by that name."

He thougth for a bit and remembered his title the got.

"Yup thats my title" Red then looked at the women. "Well I am related to him, since I am him."

The women, upon hearing Reds answer, stood up and looked at Red with wide eyes "Your the Demon of the forest."

"Yup, you have a problem with that?" Red then handed his cards to her.

"Well I kinda do, you see my sister told me to never meet any beast that is given a title, since they are all cruel" Hearing her response, Red now knew that creature with titles on this island were known to be cruel.

"Well do you see me a cruel creature."

"I don't know since I only met you just now" she then shuffled the cards and handed the deck to red who then shuffled them as well.

After shuffling Red passed the cards out and they played the third round. Which ended with Red losing once again.

"Why do I suck at this game" shouted Red as he now lost for the third time. "hehe" the women. chuckled at Reds response.

"Sigh* ask your question" Red handed his cards to the women. "Ok will you attack every creature you see."

Red had to think for a bit, sure he did attack creatures that he saw, but he doesn't kill every single one.

"Nope, unless they attack me or harm something I care about then I won't attack." The women smiled at the response.

"Last round you ready?" Hearing it was the last round Red began to freak out a bit. Not because she could get important information about him, the real reason was because of pride.

He has pride after all. He was known as the demon of the forest, he doesn't know how high the title was, but to him that title meant alot. So him losing to someone in a card game really hurted his pride.

"I'm not going to lose this time" said Red as he looks at his card. He grins as he got three cards needed for a straight flush. He looks at the women as she has a frown. The sigh of her frowning made Red have higher hopes.

"I can win, I can finally beat her at this frustrating card game." said Red as he was finally ready to win.

The next emotion to flow through Red was happiness, to confusion, to shock, and then sadness.

As many could guess he lost that round to the women. "God damn it, how did she have the cards needed for a royal flush. She was literally frowning."

"Ok I guess I'll ask you one last question ok" Red stopped thinking about the situation and looked at the women. "Fine go ahead its your win after all."

"Ok, will you play another game with me?" Red's brain stopped for a bit when he heard her question. "Hmm, I guess so since I have nothing else to do. But can we not play poker or any game close to poker."

"Sure I'll look for a game for us to play" the women then grabbed her book and flipped through the pages of it. She then tapped her finger on the book "Ok let's play gold fish."

"Sure as long as it's not poker, then I'm down for it" said Red not realizing that he is going down a lane of a losing streak against her.
