Chapter 8
His heart skipped, he knew he had overreacted. Vivian looked at him with guilt, she never believed what he just did. He looks intensely vivid and she couldn't stand it. She walked up to Charles, gave him a helping hand as he was still laying on the ground with his nose bleeding. When he was stable they left Curt with the crowd watching them passing the main building to the school clinic.
On their way to the school clinic she apologized to him about the incident.
I don't understand why he had to do this?She looked angry.
Oh yeah,because he is a psycho... Charles laughed.
Really! A psycho? She hit him.
Ouch! He looked at her.
Sorry! i didn't know you feel pains there too she looked at him
Just kidding. he laughed at her
You call my boyfriend a psycho! She laughed too
Yeah! He is really a freak. He smirked
When they got to the school clinic, he got his wound treated by the clinic nurse.
You have to come back for the next treatment on monday. The nurse told him when they were ready to leave.
Alright then. They left the clinic to her private classroom.
We wouldn't be able to practice today since you are injured. She said sadly.
Come on, why can't we not practice? It is not my legs that are affected here. He looked at her and smiled. We should take lunch first then practice he continued
Oh yeah sure. I will get the lunch she said then left the classroom. After some minutes she was back with their lunch then he noticed she wasn't happy,
He wonders why she was down in the dumps. Some minutes ago, She was active and here she is looking depressed.
They ate quietly when they were done and she threw the left over to the trash can.
What's the matter? He asked her if she was fine.
Yeah, I heard my friends talking about us... what happened between you and Curt… She sighs.
I heard Kate saying i behave to guys in a slutty manner, she just made a defamatory statement about me! I trust her, she should trust me too. She said, almost tearing up.
Charles moved closer to her and hugged her.
You should just overlook all that… They are all jealous of you and waiting for you to make a mistake… for them to put the blame on you! So you should be strong and let us focus on our dreams. He said
She remembered what her sister tells her when she feels down just like what Charles said. She looked at Charles and smiled. You just talked like my sister.
Really! he smiled back
Yeah, she always encourages me when I am down. I miss her... She was perfect! She smiled faintly.
Okay, we got to practice now! Charles said when I noticed She wanted to tear up… he went towards the back to get the MP3.
Yeah sure. She cleared the leftover then threw it in the bin.
He played a south african hip hop music, Charles danced first to teach her the steps.
Wow, look at you dancing African dance really well. She laughed
Yeah! I am African… I love African dance. They are super cool. C'mon let's dance. He said
They practiced for an hour…took a break before they continued.
*In their class*
Have you seen Curt? Brody asked Kate
I have no idea but I guess Vivian is in her private classroom. She said and left.
He went to check if Curt was with Vivian in her private classroom… He met her dancing with Charles. That son of bitch! He hissed then left.
Where could he be? He asked himself
*In the first gate of the school hall.
Curt sat at the entrance of the school hall… looking pale with the regret of making the whole scene. All he could do was to put the blame on himself for what he had done, he couldn't imagine how Vivian felt… Trying to call Vivian but he couldn't. He felt embarrassed with what he did. Recapping the scene, he knew he had overacted.
At that moment, Brody called out for him… He knew his Best friend would look for him.
Dude,I have been looking for you! He tapped Curt's shoulder. What's wrong? He sat next to Curt.
Curt remained silent, he wanted to be alone in his own world. Brody understood his feelings so he remained silent too.
After a few minutes, Curt started pouring out how he felt.
She must be really mad at me. He said looking sad. I shouldn't have reacted to that extent. Now I don't know how she feels about me.
It's fine, I guess she understands your feelings and you should apologize to her after school. Brody said, tapping him on his shoulder.
*After break*
Curt, Brody, Charles and Vivian didn't go for class. Curt and Brody were in the field playing basketball while Vivian and Charles were practicing for the next competition. When they finished practicing Charles suggested they play a hide and seek game.
That's a good idea. She smiled.
They played the game until they were exhausted.
I am so relieved. He said
Same here. She sighed just then the bell rang which indicated that school was over.
They left the classroom to the school park, some students entered the school bus while some entered the car their parents sent to pick them.
Charles's driver was waiting for him, he stopped and looked at Vivian
I know we will do better tomorrow. He said
Yeah sure, bye! She waved at him and left.
She looked back then waved at him and smiled at him when he entered the luxurious car… She walked to where the school buses were parked then entered one of the school buses… She looked around to check if Curt was on the bus.
She was trying to avoid him... Luckily for her, he wasn't on the school bus. She sat down and sighed. Some minutes later, she was in her own world…lost in thoughts. Even When the school bus got to the front of her house, she was aware of her whereabouts as she was in her own world… forgetting the real world exists.
A student tapped her from the back before she came back to herself.
She looked around to check where she was then noticed she was in front of her house.
She realized everyone was looking at her… she got down embarrassed.
She stood still for a while before she went inside… her parents were not back from work. She entered her room, took a quick bath then went to the kitchen to prepare coffee for herself. She enjoys drinking coffee when she feels down so she can get better. When she was done drinking the coffee she went back to her bedroom to take her diary, she started writing every bit of thing that happened at school. She was so disappointed in Kate… it pains her that her friends could kvetch about her… When she was done writing, She put her diary aside, took her bag to bring out her mathematics notebook so she could solve some equations. According to her personal timetable she has to solve mathematics.
When it was 7pm, she went to the kitchen trying to cook dinner and got the table ready. She never enjoys cooking because she hates the stress of cleaning the kitchen after cooking. When she finished setting the table she went to the living room to watch her favorite station. After a few minutes, She was engrossed with the series she was watching until she got distracted by the doorbell... She walked to the door then opened the door to her surprise it was her Dad and Mom.
Mom, Dad, she couldn't believe they came home together, it has never happened they always come home separately.
You came home together! She folds her arms waiting for a reply.
Yeah, we went on a date together. Her dad said
Wow I can't believe this, like going out on a date! She giggled then opened the door wide for them to enter.
Mom, Dad I made dinner for you. She said looking at them.
Oh dear, I am okay! Her Dad said
She changed her face immediately when he looked at her, he could tell that she wasn't happy.
He immediately told her he would eat with her, and she looked at her mom.
Yeah sure, I will also eat with you but I need to take a shower.
Okay! I will be waiting for you. She said smiling. Some minutes later they joined her at the dining table.
They all eat quietly… After dinner, she went back to her room and jumped on her bed then was in her own world thinking about what happened earlier at school.
Why would he react like that! She soliloquies.
She took her phone then saw missed calls and messages from Curt. She read all the messages without replying or calling. After laying down for a while she fell asleep.
