Elfar was engaged in combat with two other demons, while Blanca fought the remainder of the enemies with extraordinary speed. But all of a sudden, a hail of arrows descended upon the demons, filling them with wood and iron and igniting them.
They screamed out in agony. The majority of the beast died instantly, but others were pinned down and left to bleed to death.
When Blanca and Danny looked up into the parapet from below, they saw that Countess Matilda's troops had already scaled the walls.When they waved to their Danny, he waved back very reluctantly. "Thank the goddesses for ensuring that they come on schedule. I'm not interested in barbecuing another demon, though. It has an offensive odor." He mumbled as Elfar transformed into his human form and smiled at him. Danny's last resort must have been this at the time.
Blanca remarked, "I believe that would be a medal for you, young Danny." Danny agreed. The lads exchanged friendly smiles.
