After the group's shock, Morgana began telling the story of how Abaddon started working for her.
Before the Red Calamity, meaning before Aegis was a game, the developers had added a new challenge.
It was a one-week event where players had to compete with each other by fighting in an "infinite boss gauntlet."
The rules were simple: A player would start from "stage 1," where they would fight a boss, and after successfully defeating it, they could move on to "stage 2."
Each stage was more challenging than the previous one, and whoever managed to get to the highest stage by the end of the week would win a special unique prize from the developers.
After Morgana won with a score of 350 stages defeated, she was given an item called "Abaddon's Bell," which explained how it worked in the item's description.
Once the owner rang the bell, they would make a contract with the Archdemon, tying them to their service.
