The party walk out of the dining room in silence, but once they were sufficiently far away from it. Mors started to speak
"This makes no sense; you are the daughter of the clan head. How can this type of treatment go unnoticed?"
Mors said with an angry tone, he expected people to not show respect to Zhihui because she lost her talents. But to go to that extent is really pushing it, a leader must always keep their subjects in line. This kind of disrespect will undermine the current leadership.
One of the two options lies before a government that is losing the respect of its people. Dictatorship or civil war, he knows these sects have no such thing as democracy. But a dictatorship that paints the ground in blood and gore is very much still a possibility.
The multiple countries that fell to fascism and authoritarianism before the Unifications Wars were all trying to keep to their crumbling power. If not for the United Effort of the last remaining democracies, his old world might have turned into a dystopia.
"I don't wish to alarm my parents with such mundane things. Things will change as I continue to grow stronger"
"That good and all, but you should not stay still and let them walk over you. Beat them up to an inch of their life and they will understand to not mess with you"
"I don't wish to become the same as them! They will come to respect me because of my strength and my achievements! Not because I beat them up"
Zhihui said as she looks at Mors with serious eyes, as they once again had the same discussion. With a defeated sigh, Mors raises his hands up in defeat.
"Fine, we will go with your idea"
"Thank you, Mors..I am sorry for screaming"
"Don't worry, I am the one who needs to apologize"
She looks at Mors confuse as to what he meant, only concluding that he was apologizing for aiming his blade at that male cultivator. The two servants stay silent as they follow the couple, they agree with Mors. Their lady should not be suffering like this when it's completely avoidable.
Fen respects her good nature and wants to keep to her own morals. But as someone with twice her experience, he knew that certain people only respect violence and no matter how much you take the moral high ground. They will still act on their base instinct like brainless monsters.
The group continues to walk in silence and soon arrives in front of stables full of horses and carriages. While walking to the capital city is possible, taking a horse or a carriage as your ride to the capital city is faster and more comfortable. Huan moves towards the stables as she talks with the manager.
She has already reserved a carriage for the group, as the manager brings forwards a well-crafted but simple wooden carriage. Fen climbs the carriage as he will be today's driver. The other three enter the carriage, only to find some boxes inside. Zhihui could figure out what was the meaning of this, as she looks at the blushing Huan.
The group sits down as Zhihui speaks.
"Are these her gifts?"
"Yes.."
"What did you get her?"
"Some clothes, perfume, and flower seeds"
"I am sure she will like it"
"Mind filling me in on what is going on?"
"Oh, Huan is trying to court this flower girl"
"Oh! How is it going Huan?"
"…."
"I take it is going bad?"
"Yea…"
Mors sighs as he nodded his head, he would love to give her some advice but doing so will require asking her question about her crush. He does not know Huan that well and does not want to see intrusive by asking her that type of question. This kind of conversation made Zhihui want to ask Mors something.
"Mors do you got any past relationships?"
"Me? Well, a couple, why you ask?"
"Oh nothing, I was just curious"
Hearing this Huan looks at Mors, he is someone of around the same age as her, unlike Fen. Has experience with relationships, unlike Zhihui.
"Sir Ming, do you have any advice for me?"
"Um? You want my advice? Well, I don't know if they will be of any help, but sure thing. Tell me about your crush"
Like this, they spend the rest of the carriage ride, as Huan talks about her crush in detail. To the point that Mors was getting tired of hearing so much about this woman, he slowly raises his hand to stop Huan.
"Alright I get what is going on, you are putting her too much on a pedestal. People don't like to be treated like that; you must be more down to earth with her. You also need to talk about yourself more, just listing to her and not putting your own input will only make her bored"
"But.."
"No buts, she is a human like you and me. Don't treat her like that as you will look back at yourself and cringe at the memories. First thing first, the number of gifts. Cut it down, giving someone so many gifts can feel like you are buying their love without even trying. While you did get the part about thinking of things she might find useful or want, giving her too much at the same time is bad"
Huan nods her head softly, his advice makes sense. The only problem is to implement them and change how she acts.
"Also stop being so shy around her"
"How di-"
"It pretty obvious to see that you become putty when she is around you, some people like shy partners, but having some base level of confidence is good. Speak with confidence"
"But that sounds hard"
"Is ok, I can give you some pointers on how to become better"
"Thank you so much, Ming, your advice is so much better than old man"
"Well, I am sure his advice work for his time"
"Haha~"
Huan laughs a bit, as the carriage stops moving. They did not notice they were already inside the capital city of the Sect, known as Jian City. With large, towering buildings made of brick and stone surrounding them, the road is made of brick. People with clean clothes walk on the pavement for pedestrians.
"Huan this is your stop and good luck"
The voice of Fen from outside reaches the inside of the carriage as Huan started to breathe In and out to get herself ready. Graving some of the gifts as she walks out of the carriage, her destination is the flower shop her crush manages. The carriage moves behind her as she comes out of it.
She will be joining them later, as the rest of the party makes its way toward the Sect.
