The First Battle Part 2

The battle has finally begun in Earnest. As both sides bite and cut each other into pieces. Their lives do matter not, both are monsters and expendable. Mors was in the middle of these two large armies, fighting at his full power. Using the sounds of this beautiful orchestra as his background music. His steps are like a beautiful but deadly dance.

He will step over the corpse of the monsters, using them to get a high advantage. At the top of the corpse, Mors, still with his spear in hand. Started to channel his QI all around the spear. As the QI enters the spear, he started to slowly pull the QI from the blade tip of the spear.

As he does that, the QI becomes visible, elongating the blade of the spear. Of course, this takes time to do, but his loyal monsters will throw themselves at the enemy to protect him, as well as the great battlefield support of Zhihui. Now with an elongated range, he swings his spear around. The extended QI blade tore apart the armies. Cutting both ground, monsters, and the sky in half. Each cut that lands are followed by a large explosion.

Mors QI in seconds got depleted, his muscles were screaming, and his face was full of sweat. It seems like his control of this way of using the skill is still lacking but also very taxing. But he can't argue against the results, a new large portion of both armies are dead. In seconds, the humanoid monsters made Mors a high-priority target. His AoE is very large, adding to that his single-target potential. The hive mind demands he be taken out to assure victory and strong biomass.

As the humanoid monsters rush towards Mors, a blue crystal vial appears in his right hand. As he opens the bottle and drinks the 50-point QI drink. As his QI recovers, Mors smiles at the charging humanoid monsters. As he puts his spear away and takes out his sword. Ready to meet them with a beautiful dance.

While focusing on the more personal fights, control of the battlefield depended on Zhihui. Zhihui's skills and rank in them were higher than Mors. As such with more versatility and range, she could change the nature of the battlefield whenever she wants.

She stubs her feet into the ground, channeling her QI through it and into the ground, as in on the left flank, countless earth walls form and protect the monsters from the range attack from the corruption side. The spikes bounce or get stuck in the earth's wall.

This gives the left flank some protection as they can easily focus on the blade monsters and the flying monsters of the corruption side. Ants and Termites, being the ones with the largest numbers will surround these monsters. But because they are weak compared to the corrupt monsters, they are the ones that die the most. As they leave the killing to strong monsters like the mantis, beetles, or bees.

But that was not the only part that need its help, as Zhihui channels the element of fire through the fire gem on her back. Before she only had this one gem, but now after buying some of the bloodline upgrades, blue, brown, and gray color gems now decorate her back.

As the fire enters the red gem and into her body, increasing her body temperature and slowly turns her skin red. Zhihui could now make fire appear more easily. As she makes countless fireballs appear on top of her. These large blue hot fireballs raise the heat around her a couple of degrees. Sweat builds up in her body as she waits for a very special note. The sound of this battle grew larger and larger, she just needs to wait for the right note to attack.

The anticipation continues, as more from both sides die. As more of the common monsters die, the first real death happens. A humanoid monster had its head cut off. As their head lands on the red color ground. Its headless and lifeless body slowly falls to the ground, as its body hits the floor. The right note has finally appeared. As Zhihui launches her multiple blue fireballs across the battlefield.

Her QI getting sucked in by these fireballs at incredible speeds. But the fireballs in turn got bigger and darker, their heat becoming so strong that it started to bend the light around them. The blood that painted the ground evaporated in real-time. This is an effect of Mors [First Symphony of War], while the skill is made for only him to use as he can distingue the beautiful cruel music of war, she can use its effects if she knows the music. As this song was already something she has learned during the two days she has spent with Mors fighting and conquering. She sends these fireballs toward their targets with all her might.

One of the blue fireballs finds its victim. A spike monster all the way in the backline. Shooting its spike at the Mors and Zhihui army. But this monster, save from all other monsters, was not safe from Zhihui. As the blue fireball encountered its head, the speed of fireball was too fast for it to dodge. In a second, the skin burned to ash, its blood evaporated from the inside, and its brain was reduced to a pink liquid. The fireball did not stop, it consumes the whole body, only stopping as it meets the ground.

As the fireball exploded into pure heat and energy. Its strong energy makes pieces of rock and earth fly off the ground. Chattering the bone and muscles of surrounding monsters. The heat from the explosion evaporated their blood and melted their brains. In seconds a portion of the enemy's backline has perished.

Across other portions of the battlefield, the same thing happen, multiple lives were claimed, as some small friendly fire happen. Not like either of the two humans care. With their great skills and AoE potential, they have claimed a large portion of the enemy monster's lives.

But while their own numbers are limited, they are in enemy territory. From the very edge of the battlefield, more mini hordes of monsters started to appear. All from the corrupt side as they started to join the fight, claiming the lives of the monsters in Zhihui and Mor's armies.

As these monsters join the fight, they become more organized as the humanoid monsters made orders of the hive mind clearer. Zhihui could not help but click her tongue as she saw this happen. As she started to focus her strength on fighting the new reinforces of the enemies. But the reality could not be ignored that her own army has started to die in greater numbers than the enemy.

They need to kill more monsters or kill the central commanders and make the enemy disorganized. Thankfully Mors was already on that job. As the humanoid monsters had happily charged toward him at the very start of this battle. Already claiming two of their lives.

But still, 8 of these monsters remain and only 2 of them are away from Mors. Mors with his sword in hand, blocks as many of the attacks of these monsters. Kicking some of them away to buy himself some time. To his right side, are two, on his left, are another two, and in front of him are the last two. A total of 6 monsters surround him as the final two are a distance away.

Mors makes his sword disappear as he makes the spear appear instead. As he channels his QI into the spear, the monsters knew how deadly that spear can be as they get ready to dodge or defend against it. But Mors does something different, as for the same time, for a while, his and Zhihui's mind synchronize.

Both their strength and QI increase as Mors stabs the spear into the very ground. Channeling his QI Into the ground, he slowly twists the spear to the confusion of the hive mind. As he twists the spear, the ground breaks into pieces and a large explosion happens. As large chocks of the earth protrude from the ground. His QI spread across these chunks of earth and the very ground itself.

His QI continues to spread across the ground as it meets a familiar QI. The QI of someone they are bound with for the rest of their lives. With a synchronized mind, this other person's QI connected with Mors. As both of their QI become one for a second. Giving Zhihui a large range as she could easily control the chunks of the earth around Mors, even doe is all the way across the battlefield.

As Zhihui makes the pieces of earth into large strong pillars of the earth, she made them all start flying toward the heads of the humanoid monsters. As the hive mind did not expect this attack, it could not react and send its command to the humanoid monsters in time.

As the attacks fly at high speed, the force behind them is a lot stronger than their current rank and stage. Their synchronization and Mors [ Wars First Symphony] made these attacks around warrior rank 4. As these chunks of earth hit their mark, the heads of the 6 surrounding humanoid monsters exploded. Their brains fall all around the ground as only two of these monsters were left.

As their minds stop being in sync, their QI stops being connected as things go back to normal. The organization of the enemy started to fall, as they stop fighting as a complete unit. Giving the normal monsters a greater advantage. Mors rushes toward the final two monsters, as he could easily handle two.

In less than two minutes, both final monsters fall to the ground. The directed connection to the hive mind is broken as its orders become muddy and fuzzy to the corrupt monsters. With no more reinforcement for some reason. Mors and Zhihui easily clean up and destroy this big monster army. Their forces took a large hit. But that will not stop them, as they take a second to rest and recuperate.

As the cold mechanical voice of the system sings in their ears.

But as they rest, across the territory of the corruption, monster groups were fighting and invading it. These monsters were pushed to their wit's end, as their sources of food were being cut off and their habitats are being destroyed. They want to escape, and their only way out is through the corrupt territory.
