It has been three days since the party started to explore the large cave system, in search of the magma spirit. During these three days they fought two other outposts in their long exploration, each time they cleared one they went in deeper underground. Fighting more Artificial Spirits as they theorize they are getting closer to the source, the Magma Spirit.
During these three days, any time they would rest, Mors would make more Sunlight Dandelion tea for its effects. While he would have loved to buy containers to hold the tea, he did not have enough time to do so before going on this adventure. As such he has been storing any excess tea in tea cups. He had already shown the rest of the party the effects of the buffing tea. Making them rely more on him and allowing them to fight with more wiggle room.
During these three days, Mors has gotten 2000 fate points. Not from killing the Artificial Spirits, but probably from Zhihui hunting. But soon Mors is taken out of his thought process, as the party stops moving. Bujir, with a wet forehead and hard breathing, spoke.
"We found it…. The Magma Spirit"
"That is great, but why did we stop moving?"
Girina said while looking at the shaking Bujir. His voice shook in fear as he spoke, taking a step back and getting closer to the party.
"This Magma Spirit is not something any of us can handle.. Its general stage"
Bujir said, as his words echoes through the tight hallways. The party is taken aback by this new information. Their motivation hits rock bottom. They knew that even five of them at the commander stage could not kill or deal with a general stage cultivator. That is how big the difference is between those of different stages.
Even Mors who is OP within this world power system, could not deal with a general stage cultivator while being two stages behind. As the Dwarf talk among themselves about what to do, debating whether or not to push forward or to go back to the settlement.
"I disagree! We have to push forward and deal with this Magma Spirit. If we don't handle it now then we will continue to be attacked!"
"But if we die here then no one will be able to defend the settlement! We are the only ones that can deal with the commander stage Artificial Spirits."
"We must go back and preserve as much of our knowledge as we can. We cant let the technology of our ancestors be destroyed by the Artificial Spirits."
"Alright alright! Enough debating, we will be decided this with a vote. All in favor of going back raise you-"
But before the Dwarfs could do their voting and decide on what to do, Mors steps forward. In his two extended hands blue color Spirit Crystals. The cold air that emanates from them gathers the Dwarf's attention.
"We are not going anywhere. With this six [Spirit Crystal Ice Grenade] we can freeze the Magma Spirit."
"What!? How can you be so sure?!"
Okin said while looking at the blue color Spirit Crystals. He did not believe for a second that these six Spirit Crystals can freeze a general. But the excited voice of one of the female Dwarf took Okin by surprise, as Seche spoke while holding one of the Spirit Crystals.
"With this…It might be possible to defeat the Magma Spirit with these"
"What!? How!?"
Okin screams out once again, not believing his ears as Seche turns to face him. Pushing some of her own Qi into the Spirit Crystal, not enough to make it explode. Enough for the temperature of this hallway to decrease.
"You all saw how I was able to freeze the magma lakes with my Qi. This Spirit Crystal would do the same thing. As long as we put enough Qi into all of the Spirit Crystals, we could freeze the magma lake and the Magma Spirit"
Okin stay quiet, he still did not like the idea of using this unknown item. What if they malfunction and so on, but is hard to argue against Seche. The Master Crafter of the Steel Gears is tasked with all the religious rituals and conservation of ancient technology. Because of that, her knowledge is as vast as the ocean.
Mors steps in as he explains his plan.
"I have the highest amount of Qi out of everyone here. If you guys can distract the Magma Spirit, I can detonate these Spirit Crystals and free the Magma Spirit."
"You want us to distract a general stage Magma Spirit!? We are only at the commander stage, that thing can kill us in one shot!"
"Enough!"
Bujir said as the party focus their eyes on him, as he breathed in his eyes hardened as he gave out his command.
"This is the plan, Ming will handle the Spirit Crystals and with his large amount of Qi freeze the magma Spirit. We would drink Ming's tea and distract the Magma Spirit with his copies. If you feel like you can't hold it any longer, you are allowed to escape the battle. Is everyone in agreement?"
Bujir said as the party nods their heads to show that they understand. With their approval and no one else voicing out their concerns, Bujir takes a step forward. As he does he feels the tyrannical aura that emanates from the Magma Spirit. Even when they are not close to it, he could feel its pressure pressing against his body.
But they can't take a step back from this, as Bujir channels his Qi around his body. To fight back against the pressure and allow him to take another step forward. The other party members also did the same thing, as the party moves deeper underground. With every step they take the aura of the Magma Spirit gets closer.
The amount of Artificial Spirits that they had to fight increased in frequency. But thankfully they were only warrior stage and Mor's copies were able to kill the Artificial Spirits. The party continues to move forward, as they soon arrive at a crossroads. They can either continue to go forward or enter the cave room. But they all knew where the Magma Spirit is. It is in that room and the intense heat that is coming out of the room opening became extra support for that theory.
"Alright people, we found the Magma Spirit. Is every ready?"
The party nods their heads, Mors gets ready as he started to channel his Qi into his Spirit crystals. The Dwarf getting their weapons at hand, ready to distract the Magma Spirit.
