A Small Skirmish

The [Ogres] look at Zhihui with widen eyes, stun for a second because of the surprise attack. Zhihui took this change as she channels her Qi, using her wand she controls the earth beneath the monsters. Making large earth spikes sprout from the ground. A total of 10 spikes came from underneath the monsters.

The board-like monsters with their sharp instincts were able to dodge most of the spikes, but even then some of the spikes still hit true. The spikes pierce the thick hide and the muscles of the boar monsters. Their red thick and fatty blood spilled into the ground and painted it red.

The [Ogres] finally came to their senses as they took control of their mounts, their eyes clouded by their hunger for flesh and meat. To the [Ogres] eating new and exotic things is one of the best feelings and accomplishments. Humans' meat is very luxurious within their ranks, but now presented with the opportunity of eating a Human they forgot their original job of just getting information and leaving.

One of the [Ogres] takes out a javelin, made of thick ugly wood and with the tip made of animal bone and stone. With all of its strength, [Ogre] 1 throws the javelin at Zhihui. His fat jiggling while doing so, the javelin flying towards Zhihui at a frightening speed. Cutting through the wind like it's nothing.

Of course [Ogre] 2 and 3 did not stay still. As they did the same thing as [Ogre] 1. They are a scouting party, armed with only a bow, some arrows, and javelins. Range weapons to keep their distance and allow for easier running away. Zhihui looks at the flying Javelins as she started to control the wind around her with Qi.

She spins around, making some wind currents change into wind blades. Countless wind blades form around her as she sends them towards the javelins. The wind blades and the javelins clash midair. The tip of the javelins gets chipped away, changing their course as they land far away from Zhihui.

The [Ogres] click their tongues as they get ready to attack again with their javelins, but Zhihui would not allow them to do so. With her greater stats, she runs towards [Ogre] 1. she taps the wand with her index finger, using the force of the tap to create lighting with her Qi. A light ball started to form on the tip of her wooden wand, as she gets closer to the [Ogre] its boar mount started to show off its teeth, launching forward to bite Zhihui's head off her body.

But to everyone's surprise, she was able to stop the warrior stage monster with her hand. Holding it by the snout as she pushes it upward, making the boar show off its weak underside by force. Pointing her wand at the underside, she shoots a lightning bolt at the boar. Using as much of her Qi as she can.

The lightning bolt pierces the board's underside hide, hitting the [Ogre] that is sitting on top of it as well. As the lighting spreads across their bodies, their organs get cooked from the inside out. Their brains become fried as their lives end in one of the most pain full ways.

The smell of roasted meat enters the noses of Zhihui and the other [Ogres]. She turns around as fast as she can, channeling her Qi and controlling the wind current created by the spin. She makes a large wind blade, and the wind blade clashes and cuts the two flying javelins in half.

"Nice try"

The [Ogres] came to the realization that even if they are of the same stage as Zhihui, they are not to match for her. It was at this moment that they remember their mission, as they try their best to control their hunger for Human meat. They commanded their boars to turn around and run away from Zhihui. But Zhihui won't let them as she runs towards the [Ogres] tapping the wand and once again creating a lighting ball at the tip of the wand.

The [Ogres] heard the sound of the lighting and knew what was going to happen. [Ogre] 3 turn around and started to charge toward Zhihui. Wanting to run her over with the strength and mass of itself and its boar. The moment Zhihui saw that she started to channel the element of lighting into her body. Lighting spreads across her body as it started to burn and kill her cells. But thankfully her first dantian started to heal and make new cells with the fire.

She uses as much of her Qi as possible as she shoots a lightning bolt at the charging [Ogre], the large lightning bolt envelops the [Ogre] and boar in seconds. Zhihui body felt the recoil as she takes a few steps back, she felt some pain in her right shoulder. As that took the brunt of the recoil from the lightning bolt.

The [Ogre] and boar scream in pain, their skin completely burns alongside their muscles and organs. [Ogre] 2 thought it was safe, as it was now a good distance away from Zhihui. But it soon felt a burning sensation on its back, as he turns his head and its meet with a large lightning bolt, the same one that kills [Ogre] 3.

"Fuck!!"

The [Ogre] screams as its envelop by the lightning bolt. Its skin, muscles, and organs completely burn by the lightning strike. Thanks to Zhihui's new wand, she was able to control the lightning bolt direction by using a lot of Qi and concentrating. Sweat builds up on her forehead as she stops controlling the lightning bolt.

She breathes out in relief as she cleans the sweat off her forehead. It seems like her stats really help in defeating the [Ogres]. The mechanical voice of the system rang in her ears.

[Killed 3 [Young Ogres], 3000 fate points will be given]

[Killed 3 [Lower Mammoths] 3000 fate points will be given]

Zhihui smiles at the notifications, they sure will earn a lot of points in this war.

"Maybe we can use some of the points to buy some ranks in our skills"

In the system shop, in the martial art tap. You could buy a rank-up with fate points for any skill that is below Primordial. But doing so costs a lot of points. The cost is the rank number you want times the stage. So, to upgrade her [Spirit Water(Heaven)] to rank 10 would cost 30000. Then she has to pay that amount for her other skills. The reason Zhihui and Mors are even thinking about this is that once they break through to the next stage they can't upgrade their skill anymore.

Either they don't break through and upgrade all of their skills, or breakthrough even if they haven't upgraded one of their skills. But that is something to think about later and when they get the points. Zhihui looks at the corpse of the monsters, turning back as she walks back towards the Elf camp. She needs to inform them of what just happened.
