Unknown Chasers

CHAPTER 2: Unknown Chasers

Laura POV

I could feel the extreme pain in my head, I squinted my eyes open and saw that I was lying on the ground.

I wondered why I was there but everything came back to me the moment I heard the loud trumpet which was still sounding.

I quickly turned my gaze to where the sound came from and saw that the train was still moving.

I guess I was only out for seconds. I quickly stood up not wanting to risk this only opportunity I had. They shouldn't be able to find me soon if I run now.

I did, running as fast as my legs could carry me. I didn't know how but I ran until I was exhausted and it would surely be nighttime soon. The thought of spending the night with no shelter over my head made shivers run down my spine.

I swallowed hard and walked gently letting my legs take little rest from the hide and seek they'd engaged in today. I was sure the guys were nowhere around, not when they didn't even know which direction I took. I also don't know where I am but one thing I knew was that—This wasn't the countryside.

I was in the city but just couldn't fathom where I am exactly. Walking through cars and buildings, I finally got a place to stop.

I sat down thinking about everything that had happened today. Whatever might have happened or might still happen. I don't regret leaving the house. I really don't.

Minutes after, I had my eyes closed, resting my lids for a while. Heavy footsteps approaching me with speed made me open my eyes without hesitation with the only thought in my mind. "They are back, aren't they?" I looked up to see those people I expected to see but saw a young lady instead. She ran past me like she was being chased, I became afraid.

I didn't know why she was running with so much panic.

I swallowed hard trying as best as I could to calm down.

But then she came back, she ran back to me, stared at me for a while before attempting to speak.

"Run! They are coming for you!!" She said and left with the same pace she came back with. I became alerted.

They must have figured out where I was. I don't know how but they found me again. And thanks to the angel who approached me just now, I get a chance to at least get away from them once again.

I started running like she had instructed. I ran passing by buildings with speed, one I've never used before.

I was desperate at the moment, my strength was back and I would do everything not to get caught.

I stared back and truly they were chasing after me. But something made me stop.

The people chasing after me were cladded in suits which looked hellishly expensive!!.

I stared at them for a while and realized they weren't the same people who had been chasing after me since hours ago. But one thing is certain!

They were chasing me and I won't stop! I continued running but then a sudden force grabbed my shoulder making me turn. I was startled. I wondered how they got to me in just seconds.

They were professionals, more capable and stronger than the ones I encountered earlier in the day. I tried breaking free from the man but he dragged me along, not letting go of me even a little bit slightly. I knew there was no way to get out of his grasp.

I tried the swift turn movement I learned in movies but it didn't work on the hefty guy. I was alarmed.

Maybe returning to the house is the only option for me, they were going to get me back to the house at all cost. Suddenly, a black car pulled up,

I recognized it immediately, it was a black limousine, I knew it was expensive no doubt. They dragged me in even when I resisted so much.

I knew then that it wasn't the same people who were after me coming back to the house doing this.

A rich man or woman is doing this to me right now, not the wretched beings from earlier.

I ended up panicking, I wondered who could have sent them and why they were taking me. They treated me gently and I didn't get hurt unlike the previous ones who hit me with bats. But they did worse, they cuffed my hands. I wouldn't be able to fight back even if I wanted to. I observed everything and could hear one of them reporting over the phone.

"We got her boss"

I knew then that I was really in trouble. They really did take me when I didn't even know who wanted me to be gone. I knew only one, but they aren't the one behind this one, I could bet my life on that.

The drive was smooth and fast, all I could think of during it was how to escape. I had stared at every part of the road so I wouldn't miss the route when I finally made my grand escape like I always do. Whatever the person behind this is trying to do with me will surely fail because I was sure I would escape before I got taken to him or her. Soon after, the car halted at a clean warehouse. Maybe this would be the opportunity to strike. The last opportunity to escape.

They got me down from the car and only one was holding me.

I kicked his d!ck and was glad I didn't miss the target this time.

He groaned letting me go and I tried to run, but just before I could move three steps forward. Something smacked my neck, my eyes rolled to the back of my head before I slumped down into someone's strong arms. One of the guys probably. He had hit me so hard that I felt life draining out of me. It took just seconds before I succumbed to darkness.
