THE MIND

(Philip has taken over command, Allen is plotting and Kenviar has possessed Kai.)

Kai woke up or at least it felt like waking up, but he did not feel the laziness one feels right after doing so. He felt light, at ease and quite fresh. He was in a weird place, although it appeared oddly familiar.

Kai was surrounded by nothing as if in a lonely part in space. Where one would find stars glowing, there was something quite off. Cubes, of varying colors floating in the air, constellation after constellation of them. Spreading as far as the eye could see, many, many miles away. Upon noticing Kai realized that each cube had a unique shade to it. Their gentle glow felt strangely warm.

Kai realized his lack of clothing, feeling surprised he tried to gather his thoughts. Some cubes far away shot away like shooting stars. Kai redirected his attention to where he stood. Slabs of tiles just perfect enough to fit his feet, aside them the nothingness continued. Realizing the lack of space to stand on, Kai lost his balance. His feet shook and his body leaned instinctively but as though not him but everything else had tilted to match his posture such that without realizing he was upright again. Kai stepped forward, the tile beneath his foot vanished and a new one appeared where he placed his foot. Pondering for a while, he sat down. A large tile appeared to allow him a place to sit. The surface was neither cold nor warm it was like if he hadn't seen it he wouldn't be able to discern it existence.

"Where am I?" He wondered aloud.

"You are here" came an answer in his own voice, slightly off though.

Kai's words echoed

Along an echo

"Wha.. Who said that..." echoes…

"I, Me, you, we"

"Alright show yourself, whoever you are..." echo

"Why?"

"err, cause I want to know who you are ..."

"Do you really?"

"Ok then, I shall show you"

In front of Kai sat himself, exactly as he looked but the color of the other Kai was wrong, he was just black and white with eyes a yellowish gold. They stared at each other.

"Hey, you look like me, but your color is..."

"No, really?? Idiot," the figure said sarcastically.

"oy, why did you call me an idiot, Idiot, anyway who are you?"

"The Idiot."

"Are you messing with me?"

"Exactly."

"Look buster I have had a long and hectic day, so stop the f..."

The figure cut him off, "I know"

"hmmmmm..." Kai was getting agitated at his situation...

The figure in front of him smiled, then with a light bow it began "Kai let me explain," its voice lost the sarcasm, and had a mature ring to it.

"You are, to simply put it, in your own being."

"What ...?"

"I am serious; I am not messing with you now."

"Ahaan" Kai uttered through clenched teeth.

"Well, you are in your being, and this place is your world. You are bare here, everything that you are is here, in a way..."

"Does this have something to do with me not being clothed?"

"Sort of, yes"

"If what you are saying is true... then who the ruddy hell are you?"

"I am you, a part of you, the embodiment of wisdom that belongs to you or so I like to think."

"You... entity... does this have anything to do with my contract? my damnation...?"

"Kai be patient and listen," Wisdom sighed, "I will start with the basics... every soul

that is born is born with two major entities, both reside in it. One is the voice of good and the other is the tempter of wrong. These entities through the life span of the soul try to influence it to act according to their will... you with me?"

"Yeah, so you are one of the two?"

"Not quite... see these two are the voices in your heart. There is a way these two can be materialized, within the soul itself of course, much like me, but that is not common. Not everyone can enter their being as you did. It takes years of training and meditation. Anyway, once materialized you can converse with the two, interact with them and also beat them into submission."

"So how come I got you?"

"I am getting to that... now as I understand the pure blood lines are gifted with the ability to acquire these two entities quickly or rather many times faster than a non-pure."

"Ahaan"

"And then there are the double pures, they can get them even faster. Also, what's unique to the double pures is that they can merge the two along with their soul... after which their soul can be split into quite a few entities. I am as such your entity of wisdom."

"But I never did any of that..."

"Hold your horses Kai, you are special. Probably because you are part demon, see I materialized when you were still in your mother's womb. I don't know why or how but you had accomplished what I said even before you were born."

"I don't quite understand"

"Neither do I, and that really annoys me. About the contract with Kenviar, I really don't know much about it. Besides, you made the contract yourself... or at least that is how I know it...not so sure about the details..."

"... Ahaan, so Ken really does stay in here?"

"That perverted Demon does indeed burden me unfortunately, but it's thanks to him that I know most of what I told you"

"Hey, if you are my wisdom, shouldn't I already know all this?"

"Kai I am a separate entity within you... That is, it is my choice to share my knowledge with you or not, but I can also see and hear what you do as well"

"That's no fair... well wisdom, how did I get here?"

"You see those bracelets you were wearing were draining too much of your energy, so Ken was supplementing with his own. He was getting attuned to your, aah, frequency by the minute... while he was busy there, I was constantly trying to hear his thoughts, so a part of him was trying to keep me out without hurting us. one of the two bracelets was completely affecting Kenviar, so he himself was quite low on his own power. The pressure was great and on top of all that you called him, while he pondered to how he should meet your demand and voila he stuck you here and took control of your body easing the pressure."

"How is that easing the pressure?"

"Well, I don't know the details, but it seems that Ken can absorb energy from almost everything... I am not sure though."

"So that's how I got here, how do I get out?"

"I am thinking about that; one way is that he himself lets you out or..."

"Or I am stuck here?"

"More or less, it's not that bad a place Kai."

"So, what's up with the cubes?"

"Everyone is different, but most of them, most of which I have seen are memories, your memories."

"So how far is that?" said Kai pointing at the largest Cube.

"I don't know the distance but a day's journey."

"Shall we go there then? It's not like I have anything else to do"

"Sure, why not?"

Kai and wisdom began walking towards the cube. They walked for about what seemed like three hours,

"Kai keep going towards the cube, I will meet you there" Wisdom spoke suddenly before disappearing without a reply.

"wha. Wait, hey..." but wisdom was gone.

Kai continued the rest of the journey alone, he neither got tired, nor hungry nor thirsty.

When Kai finally arrived, wisdom was already there waiting for him.

"Damn you, what the hell was that you fucking sh.."

"Kai, I went to get something for you, believe me it's worth the lonely journey." Wisdom opened his palm, on which was a small cube, solid gray in color.

"Do you remember your parents?"

"No..." said Kai now wondering what wisdom was up to, forgetting his rage.

"Kai touch this cube"

And Kai did.
