Chapter Three

Saturday morning.

I love the weekends.

Lazy Saturday morning.

I pull the blanket off my body then roll out of bed. Alexia is still fast asleep but probably because of the smoking.

I leave her to sleep and make my way downstairs where I see her mother in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Good morning." I greet her and she looks up from the stove and smiles at me.

"Good morning, sugar." She flips the piece of bread in the pan and then places two slices of cheese on the omelet in the other pan. "I shouldn't even mek breakfast for unnu cause unnu come in and all heat up pizza and never even knock pah mi door fi see if mi want." She laughs and then closes the omelet.

I give her a small laugh as I make my way to the fridge for a glass of apple juice.

"Next time Aunty."

"Mhm." She makes a plate for me and puts it on the island.

I take a seat at the island and begin eating the breakfast.

"Where did you girls go last night?" She asks as she takes a bite of her own breakfast.

"Oh, I was at the club and I needed a ride so I called Alexia." She simply nods in response and silently eats her breakfast.

"Good morning!" I look in the direction of the voice to see Alexia just coming out of bed. "Mommy, I'm so happy you made breakfast."

Aunty Denise starts sharing some breakfast for Alexia while she makes herself a glass of orange juice.

"Did you girls sleep well?" She asks and takes a seat beside me.

I slowly nod my head while continuing to eat my breakfast.

"Myself as well. You?" Her mother responds.

"Yeah, the weed knocked me out. Amazing sleep." She giggles to herself and her mother gives her the plate filled with french toast, an omelet and fruit.

"Oh, by the way Jade, we have got to go to the club tonight. Last night was just embarrassing and I think you need something to shake you up from that." Alexia says to me.

So said? So done. It was evening before we know it and we ware making our way out to Alexia's Audi.

"We a guh a Rick's Cafe." She says once she starts the car and allows the AC to cool it down before she reverses and started the journey.

Alexia drives easy while taking a few puffs every now and then so the car is filled with clouds and music until we get there.

We immediately make our way over to the bar where Alexia orders a bottle of Remy Martin and a couple margaritas then begins smoking.

"This is what I love!" She screams over Shenseea's voice after a few drinks of VSOP and some more margaritas and about three spliffs.

She pulls out her phone and starts recording her freshly ordered set of margaritas while singing along to the song. "Yesss mek gyal upset! Yes dem sick a bloodclaat mi!"

"A guh outside and come back." I touch my friend. She nods at me.

"Mek sure yuh call mi if anyting."

I go outside and slowly sipped my margarita.

Sometimes when I'm by myself I really wonder what I'm doing and if I am on the right track. Standing outside in the parking lot, looking up at the stars, I always feel at peace though.

My thoughts are interrupted when I hear a skid and feel some small bits of stone flash on my calf. I kiss my teeth then look up in disgust.

A black crown.

The door swings open and the first thing I see is a pair of feet decorated in black Desert Clarks step out. The whole person is eventually revealed and of course my good luck brought this dutty foot bwoy right back to me.

He slams the door shut after another friend stepped out. One of his accomplices from the last time I saw him.

I look away but to no avail.

"You one come ere?" He smiles at me.

I take a sip of my margarita. "Oh my God, are you stalking me?"

He lets out a small laugh. "Yeah, that's why I decided to come here."

"Then you'd know if I'm here by myself or if I have company." I roll my eyes.

He walks over to me and rubs my shoulders which causes me to immediately involuntarily relax. "Why yuh nuh deh inna di party?"

"Need fi breeze off."

He continues to slowly rub my shoulders. "Cyaah come a party fi breeze off." He whispers to me.

"Trust me, I need it." I chuckle.

"Jade!" I swing my head around to see Alexia. She is stumbling a good amount as she makes her way over to me.

"Jade! Babe!" She yells once more and starts walking faster.

She pulls me into a hug once she is standing in front of me. "Baby, I missed you. I wanna go and lie down now. Di dolly tired nuh fuck."

The guy's friend laughs. "Wah yuh seh? Yuh wah lie dung?"

Her head swings around and she immediately observes him from head to toe then smiles. I am not sure which aspect of him she likes- from his plaits brushing his neck, his polo shirt, his sagging shorts or his polo sneakers but she likes what she sees and I am certain of it.

"Yeah.. yuh nuh have somewhere can make me lie dung?" She smiles at him.

He uses his finger to gesture for her to come over.

"Mi wah fuck him." She thinks she is whispering but she isn't which causes everyone to laugh.

"Yuh know seh if unnu wah lie dung fi true wi have an airbnb booked-" The guy I knew from before is cut off by Alexia. She walks over to his friend after opening the car and gives him the keys.

"Nuh seh forty. You drive cause mi too fucked up." She goes in to sit down and a text immediately comes on my phone.

Alexia: Babe, just fuck him. I love you. Im gonna fuck and suck off his friend. Him betta be a munch

I laugh. The guy's friend goes in Alexia's car and starts it.

wi fi have fun fi true. tomorrow's problems are tomorrow's problems.

"Yuh friend ready doe." I hear the guy whisper in my ears. "Yuh ready too?" He chuckles.

"Mi haffi guh cause mi friend go di deh." I shrug.

We go in his car and all the memories of the previous night flood my mind. I can't even believe that it was just last night. It feels like such a long time ago.

He turns on the AC and turned down his music. "Yuh good?" He speaks quietly.

"Mhm."

"Yuh sure?" He asks. I roll my eyes. "Jus' a ask my girl."

He drives off and signals his friend as he made his way to the airbnb.

Once we get there we all sat in the living room and listened to music on the TV.

Alexia is hugging the bottle of Remy Martin and smoking her weed.

She suddenly giggles then aggressively pulls down the guy's friend and whispers in his ear then pulls him by his shirt to one of the bedrooms.

"Mhm. Damage aguh deal now." The guy exclaims.

It was the first time I heard him speak since we got there so I was a bit startled and I never even heard him speak the night before.

"Yuh ready fi guh in too?" He chuckles.

I am not sure if it's the alcohol or the amount of weed I have been around all night but I nod.

His eyes widen. "A lie." He lowers his head and holds my hand and leads me to another bedroom then locks the door.

"Yuh fuck good?" He asks before taking a pull of his weed. His eyes red and low observing me like a piece of meat presented to a starving person.

Fuck.
