'None of this could be real'

..."I will need your help"

He replied.

"How? "

She asked him in a worried tone.

"I need you to cast a protection spell about April . Can you do that?"

He asked.

"Yes. Sure.."

She replied.

"But could  you  do some sort of bonding spell too?" 

He asked.

"Bonding spell? You have no idea what that is"

She replied to him.

"How??"

He asked.

"If I cast a bonding spell on you both, yes, you will feel her every move, every thought, every emotion, enough for you to tell if she was  in danger but it's a bond, works like a pendulum, she will feel yours too , everything, and when she begins to see things , her mind cannot comprehend, you'd lose her to madness" 

Freya explained.

"Fine...then what other way is there?"

He asked desperately.

"Well I could make it possible for you to track her "

She replied to him.

"Okay… "

He replied almost like he knew she wasn't done talking.

"But .. I will need your ring"

She added .

"My ring? The one that makes me immune to my weakness as being partly vampire . 

Stace stressed almost as though it was too much of a risk to take.

"Yes that ring, same ring I prepared for you, that ring, now quit sounding like i wasn't worthy of your trust and take it off already, you're wasting time. I will apply some modifications to it , make it serve as a beacon, if she was ever in danger, you'll know, it would also open up a portal for you to get to her exact location."

Freya explained.

"I would go with that"

He said. She smiled, turning towards her mini lab.

…" I would need a sample from her  , since you're good at cutting women's hair, I would need some of hers for the spell to work. "

She added.

APRIL .

In a taxi , she sat at the back seat, staring out the window , reminiscing on the love making she had shared with Stace. It made her blush. She smiled to herself. She felt good. She felt loved and at peace, she thought about Dave, remembering how she had turned him down publicly at her welcome party, her mom's face and dad's rage, she felt free, 

'Mo is so gonna love that part'

She thought to herself while she smiled. She caught a glimpse of the side mirror just by the passenger seat in front of her , it made her turn to see through the window screen behind her just to get a clearer view.

"Excuse me.." 

She said to the cab driver as she turned back towards him.

"By any chance, have you noticed that car?"

She asked him.

"What car Miss?" 

He asked.

"The car behind us, it's been following us ever since we left the apartment "

She said,

"I noticed for a bit but I didn't think it would follow this far. Perhaps they're heading our way" 

He said.

April turned again to look back for a bit and then took a deep breath.

She felt uncomfortable, she knew they were being followed but couldn't make sense of it.

She reached out to her phone and just then she got a call from Stace.

"Hey , baeb, where are you?" 

He asked.

"I'm still in the taxi, not close yet but I kinda feel like I'm being followed"

She replied, peeping at the side mirror once more .

"Followed?"

He asked.

"Yes, ever since we left the apartment, a black sienna has been on our tail with every turn" 

She affirmed. 

"I don't mean to scare you but that's a clear intention for a kidnap."

He explained to her in the calmest way possible.

"What?!"

She yelled, frightened.

…"yes but you are gonna be okay, alright? Just trust me and do as I say.." 

He added. 

"Okay..okay.." 

She panicked. 

"Good..I need you to tell the driver to take a turn and bring you right back to my apartment, can you hear me?" 

He asked.

"Yes, yes… I can.. "

She replied , holding on to the phone against  her ear, she tapped the driver on the shoulders .

.."please I will need you to take a turn back"

She said,

"No can't do Miss, you messed with someone pretty bad " 

He said.

April's eyes grew bigger from the realization that she was already kidnapped. Stace overheard the driver's words from the phone , it hit him hard that she was in danger.

"I would need your phone "

The driver said, stretching one hand behind .

.."now!!" 

He ordered.

She ended the call dropping it on his palm. 

"Who is doing this?! Macoy? Dave?" She asked him.

"I'm gonna need you to hurry, they already have her" 

Stace said to Freya .

"I need a sample from her. If You don't have any, how am I gonna help??"

She asked him. He thought hard for a while and then ;

"Her hair brush .. she forgot it" 

He said, rushing up the stairs to his room.  He found it lying on the dressing table , and had enough strands stretching out of it. He picked it up hurrying  back to Freya's room.

"Here , now hurry!" 

He ordered.

She collected the ring he had taken off his finger , put it in a tube and some strands of hair too,  she muttered some ancient words into it, shutting her eyes with so much concentration.

"You don't have to do this.. what have I done??"

April asked the driver.

"Shut your mouth and keep still" 

He warned sternly.

"What do you want? Money? How much were you paid? I could double it,  triple it  "

She said desperately.

"Shut up!!!"

He yelled .

MAGIC…

 Freya recited the words for the third time and some tiny bits of lightning was seen flashing  within  the tube, the strands of air floated above while the ring sank to the very bottom, and suddenly like magnets of opposite poles , they glued to each other , meeting at the center of the tube, the strands wrapped around the ring till it was sucked into the silver stone at the top of  the ring , she quickly reached out for it with a thin long metal, placing it on the table. Stace reached out to pick it up.

"Wait ! "

She stopped him.

.."you'd burn" 

She warned. 

..."Be patient. She will be fine. I will perform the protection spell now" 

She said, picking up more hair strands , she placed them in her palms rubbing them together continuously as she shut her eyes, reciting more incantations repeatedly and humming in between .

FRIGHT .

Soon the taxi stopped at what seemed to be an abandoned warehouse. The driver came down, pulling her out the backseat by the arm. She observed the other car that had been trailing , stop as well, two men looking like wrestlers came out of it . Their faces were stern .

"Let me go!"

She resisted as he pulled her towards the door of the warehouse .

It was ineffective. She soon found herself being strapped to a chair by her hands and feet  in an empty space .

"You won't get away with this!"

She threatened. The men laughed mockingly . 

"Such a pretty thing , can't wait to have a bite"

One of the men spoke , the others cheered him on and they seemed to be having their fun. She watched them with so much disgust , and only wished it were a nightmare. Soon the men were silent following the footsteps of a shoe's heel clicking on the tiled floor . April listened to the sound of the footsteps till she could see the bearer.

"Miss Luna?"

She asked unsure.

"Oh hi.. April"

Luna responded as she approached her. She drew out a chair , sitting in front of her. She grinned, boring her eyes in April.

"W-what..why..are you doing this?"

April asked, confused.

"Oh come on..you really don't know or you're just playing stupid?"

Luna stressed.

"I have no idea what you're talking about and whatever it is , I think it's rather cowardly for you to do this to me!"

She retorted.

"Hah-hah.. cowardly you say? Wow, I am impressed by your guts.. you really don't fear me" 

Luna responded leaning her back against the chair, as she smirked, folding her arms.

"Why should I?"

April asked unbothered.

"Why should you not? Hmm , you've been spending more time with my fiance and it's made you bold, I perceive. It's quite alright , I understand you, he has that much effect on his women" 

She responded .

"Oh that's what this is about? I guess you don't need me reminding you of the truth you already know, he isn't your man "

April fired back.

"Oh I see he's told you so much yea?" 

She asked with a smile. April looked at her spitefully but Luna remained calm.

.."I hate to be the one to break it to you but, Stace can never be yours "

She added.

"Heh.. like he was some property that you owned?"

April responded.

"I love that you are a tough one . I will enjoy every bit of what I am gonna do to you. Apparently, keeping off my man is a no-no for you, well I am just fine with that .. but here's the thing.. couples, they fight, they settle, it's like that, goes on and on. , doesn't mean another b*tch should take advantage" 

Luna spoke.

.."Stace and I have come a very long way, I can assure you, he is mine"

She added.

"Until you f*cked his brother" 

She replied to her spitefully. The men on standby rolled their eyes in shock at the discovery clearing their throats.

"Yea yea yea  I did.. but guess what, he did horrible things to me too that I forgave. I can see that you are not willing to come to a compromise anyway, so I'm just gonna go straight to the point "

She replied, bringing her face closer to April's from where she sat.

..." If I can't have him, no one will.."

She threatened in a whisper tone bringing out a pen knife from her purse. It looked so sharp , her eyes blinked.

..."I am not one to be brutal so I'm just gonna be easy and slow, few careful stabs , just to see your blood spill spill spill " 

She whispered with a devilish look.

"I 'm not scared of you , psycho b*tch" 

April boasted.

"You don't need to be, let the pain make you "

Luna responded in a low tone looking deep in her eyes. She swiftly lifted up the knife and energetically moved to drop it on her wrist . April shut her eyes expecting it , but it didn't come.

"W-what ..what is this?" 

Luna asked, confused. The men too. She tried again and again but the knife wouldn't get to her . It provoked her. She stood up trying harder .

April is surprised and confused.

"No..no , you must die !"

Luna screamed angrily.  Just then she heard the screams of her men from behind her. She turned to see their lifeless bodies fall to the ground.

She looked around from where she stood . She had seen flashes of something or someone else as the bodies dropped, but it was so fast. Too fast for her to decipher.

"Show yourself !" 

She yelled  looking around like she was ready for a battle. But there was silence . April remained in confusion , trying hard to make sense of what was going on and it frightened her terribly but with Luna's back turned towards her, she tried to loosen herself from the ropes that held her bound. In her quiet struggle, her eyes fell on the feet of a man out of nowhere, right in front of her, she could almost hear her heartbeat.  She slowly and carefully lifted up her eyes from the feet up to his head , he stood with his back turned to her, and directly behind Luna. 

Her eyes grew bigger , and she couldn't speak a word .

'None of this could be real ' 

She voiced in her head.
