Chapter eleven : Company anniversary 1.
After the confession of love that happen between Lari and Henry, things have turn out fine. Though they are not dating Yet but at least they know how they feel. Lari has return back to work.
Arrangement for the company's anniversary is on going. They agree to use the company's hall to host their party. The preparation is almost over, Lari and Henry have been so busy working on getting things done. Though Henry hired an planner for the event but you know how it is, if you want things to turn up good to your tastes you ought to be the to supervise the work.
Finally everything is over and the event is tomorrow Lari has been working hard forgetting that she has nothing to wear for the party and now they ate in her room going through her closet to find what she can wear for tomorrow. "No not that one, it's too old. I wore that for our graduation remember?" This us the fifth dress she has rejected do far, giving one complain or the other. "what about this one? you've never wore this one before" The dress Abby just showed her was a dress she got from her suitor a year a go and yes she hasn't wore the dress not because its from a suitor but because its too revealing. You can't even call it a dress. "Are you joking with me right now? That dress is so revealing. I can't possibly wear that and plus am going to our company's anniversary and am Henry's PA which means I'll be by him most of the time and his patents will be there. I can't go wearing that" she explain more like complaining.
"so why don't you just ask Henry for help? Anthony got me dress for the occasion" yes they were invited and Anthony did got her a dress though she didn't ask for it but she's grateful for it though.
"I can't ask Henry. He might think that am only out for his money. I mean we only said I love you just few days ago and am already requesting for gifts? common it doesn't work that way"
"OK let's go to my room and check. I have some cloths I haven't wore before" Abby suggested standing up. They went to Abby's room and went through her cloths but didn't find anything suitable for the occasion.
And today is the day yet Lari still has nothing to wear. The time is quarter to four and the party is at five just an hour and thirty minutes left.
Like God could hear her cry, he send her dress. Hearing the sound of the doorbell, Abby went to check who is outside. Seeing that it's a delivery man "hi are you Miss Larinet Wills"
"no am not but am her friend and I can receive the package for her" nodding the delivery guy show her were to sign. After the procedure is over she receive it. Going back inside she yell "Lari it's for you and I think it's from Henry" Rushing down the Stairs "hey I thought you said its for me then why are you opening it" she ask Abby taking the package from her. opening it she sees that its a dress, it so beautiful. Its a green dress, long but had I split by the side which ends just after her left knee, its has little straps, with a little v-neck and the back us open. It has little diamonds on it with sparkles. "wow it's just wow" Abby commented not knowing what to say "yeah it is"replied Lari running her hands through it. "Oh there's more" Abby said opening a little box. "oh wow check this out" she said removing a pair of white heels and diamond earrings and a chain. "wow but is this a little too much? am sure this cause a lot" Abby just gave her look which say 'are you kidding me' "what?"
"oh its nothing, we can switch dresses if you want"
"huh no way" Lari said going to her room with her dress of course. Lari and Abby agreed with Henry and Anthony that they will meet at the venue. So after getting ready they both went out heading to the party. It took them fifteen minutes to get to the company at the time was five at the dot. Their dates were waiting for them outside. Seeing Lari wearing the dress he bought and how it look so perfect on her like it was made for her, he couldn't wait for her to reach were he was standing so he walk to were she is smiling. "you look beautiful"he complement when he was close to her hugging her and giving her a little peck on her cheeks. "thank you" she said blushing. Its been long since someone complemented her.
Anthony felt rooted to his spot as he couldn't move memorize by how Abby look tonight. She wore the dress he bought for her. Its a blue dress, just like Lari's. It is long and had a split on the right. Its strapless having little pearls on it and its body hugging. Her shoes were black and she wore an emerald necklace with earrings, putting on light make-up. Abby stood in front of Anthony feeling shy because of the way his looking at her. "how do I look" she ask hoping that she looks OK "huh? oh you look.. you look gorgeous tonight" He said finding his voice. The couples stood outside for like five more minutes before going in.....
