chater 15 The Cave

(Lillian's pov)

We make our way to the cave and stare into the large gaping hole, I throw one of the lights inside then draw out my short sword. Carra enters the cave first using her light magic several orbs of light flew up above her and in front of her lighting a 8 to 10 ft around her. Carra stats collecting moss and other vegetation that is around her, ahead of her she can see several glowing things that are up ahead in the dark.

" Carra do not run ahead like that what if you get hurt or there were beasts in here" I said while going ahead of her looking at whitish blue mushrooms, when I almost bent down grabbing one Carra quickly stopped me.

" no stop or you'll be hallucinating your ass off" Carra said while taking out clothed gloves handing a pair to me then putting a pair on herself.

" I'll help collect stuff your point me toward what you want" I said as I noticed bright blue vines with fluorescent while flowers coming out of cracks in the rock, I walk over looking at them noticing the vine and flower moving as if it was alive.

Carra walks beside me pulling out long tweezers and scissors carefully cutting sections of vines with flowers on them, I go picking up moss and the shrooms bagging up everything I see. We clear out the 12 ft radius of any vegetation and move further in repeating the process three more times of a 12 ft radius, we notice a incline going down further in the cave.

" I see a pink glowing orb over here Carra" I said while slowly moving a head with our lights, hundreds of pink and yellow bulbs on thick stalks were standing tall near the side wall.

" Lillian do not touch these I'll handle them, just continue picking the things we've already picked and do it exactly as I've shown you" Carra said while wrapping a scarf around her mouth and nose, I see more of the vines growing out from

the wall so I take tools doing exactly as Carra done. I finally collected everything in this small cavern and walk back over to where Carra is finishing collecting all the bulbs, they move with a ton of liquid collected in a sealed sack.

We see a small tunnel that we will have to crawl on all fours to go through, I tie one of the ropes around a rock then use the chalk marking the walls. I enter first only able to have my dagger out with Carra directly behind me and after ten minutes of crawling we enter another cavern.

" Lillian I think we came across those bats Kae spoke of" Carra said when we heard scurrying and flaps of wings above our heads, I quickly put my hand over Carras mouth pulling her close to me then pressing her body against the wall, I feel her hands tighten on my waist when a humanoid bat twice the size of us lands right behind us.

The bat sniffs the air then tilts its head from side to side opening its flaps on its ears listening. I lay my forehead against Carras she can only look into my eyes and not of the beast behind us and I see her eyes become hazy.

The bat flew off and i gently get the round pills out that the twins gave us an throw a handful at the opposite wall, we watch over a dozen land eating up the pills that I threw then I mutter a spell. Gold translucent chains stretched from my chest to all of the beasts in front of us, when I see no more in this cavern I let Carra work on the collecting part while I sign contracts with all of he beasts but two I assigned those to Carra.

" come here" I said taking her hand i use my dagger slicing across her hand sealing a contract with these two for her familiars.

" Lillian you should keep them they'll benefit you more than me, I will only be for healing and barriers" Carra said while she healed the cut on her hand, the bats move closer to her nudges her with their head an she couldn't help but giggle at them while she patted their heads.

We walk through another tunnel up ahead, we both see a purple and black fluorescent flowers the size of half our bodies. Carra points to the flower with a wide smile, I motion for her to wait because the amount of bats here is unimaginable.

I put her behind a large boulder than throw two handfuls of those pills to the opposite wall making a clattering sound while we watch hundreds of them fly down consuming the pills I threw. I mumbled the spell again making a contract with them, I throw another handful in the opposite direction and repeat the process getting almost 400 bats for our armies familiars.

(' I'll have to get more of those pills to get more of these beasts later') Lillian thought to herself while looking at the dozen pills that's left, she noticed smaller ones that was acting anxiously so Lillian tossed more to them and doing the spell.

Carra makes her way to the giant flower taking out a small shovel gently gathering the dirt around the roots, I did a double take at what she was digging into and its bat shit the flower grew from. I couldn't help but to roll my eyes at this woman conviction, we head back out of all the caverns. We get to the entrance when a strong storm was crashing down outside, the cold wind blasted through the entrance making us back out and then I hear Rae on the telecommunication jade slip.

" baby please tell me your fine, I tried to hold off talking to you and this storm hit( let me talk to her as well, hey Lillian how many beast did you get) you can wait second" Kae and Rae said then Mal cut them both off taking the jade from them.

" Lillian we've camped at were you pointed to and be careful, I've noticed a couple shadows here. We will keep chatter closed unless a emergency happens, just keep your eyes open." Mal said with the girls bickering in the background with two smacks residing then it went quiet.

" I'm guessing Mal has taken after me with the head smacking" I said while laughing with Carra. I can't help to feel anxious after hearing Mal speak of shadows, I will send out some of these bats to watch them.

Carra has a fire already going with a blanket for us to lay down on, I move closer to her and sit beside her. While we watch the storm rage outside of the cave, we pull some fruit and bread from our ring to eat while we wait and I notice the two bats always watching over carra while she throws them fruit to eat.

" they will keep you safe, I will assign more to you and not only these bats" I said while laying back staring at the caves ceiling, then I look back toward the other cavern and send 8 bats out to the spot I want them to watch.

They're connected to my will so they'll protect the ones I want them to, but I want the ones following them brought to me. I feel Carra lay back against me then cuddles into me, I put one of my arms around her neck pulling her over to my chest.

" Get some rest it'll be a while until the storm stops we will leave once it calms down" I said while holding her and I watch her eyes close, then I think about what Issy has told her then a strong feeling to smack her comes over me while I shut my eyes to rest.
