Chapter 3

Astrid's heart sank as Dante declined to accompany her on her quest to retrieve her sword. "Fine mortal, you were not that helpful or useful anyway," she retorted, trying to hide the hurt and anger she felt. As she marched off in the direction of the Blue Mountains, Dante felt a pang of guilt. Astrid clearly had no idea where she was or where she was going.

"Blue Mountain is in the other direction!" he yelled after her, hoping to set her on the right path. Astrid stopped in her tracks and adjusted her course accordingly, but Dante knew he couldn't just let her go off on her own. Despite the late hour and the fact that he had school the next day, he set off after her, determined to help her retrieve her sword and find her way back home.

As Dante caught up with Astrid, he could see the determination in her eyes. She was clearly on a mission and nothing was going to stand in her way.
