Maybe I knew.. (Neel)

"I couldn't control myself when I saw Ahaana looking so vulnerable. I immediately stood up and hugged her so tightly that no one would ever take her away from me.

"Are you all right?" I asked with concern. She didn't reply. "Ahaana, I asked if you are all right. Are you hurt anywhere?"

This time she replied quite absent mindedly "Yes, I'm fine. I will be so if you're with me forever"

Her words were like sugar. The thought of me being with her forever tempted me so much but alas! if only that could be possible.

I quickly ungripped my hands around her and moved to a side. I almost completely forgot that Aunt Susan was standing there.

"It's good to hear that you are totally okay and not hurt." I said quite formally. Aunt Susan interrupted "Neel came here running when he heard that you fainted at school."

Her remark made me blush and when I turned my head to look at Ahaana, she showed the same expression. Her cheeks were so red that I couldn't believe if it were the real colour or make-up.

I swear she looked so pretty and beautiful that I could kiss her there and then in front of Aunt Susan. But no, I had to control myself. Neel, you cannot give in to this temptation.

But Ahaana was more than just an addiction. She was my need, my necessity, maybe my life. I had given my heart to her a long time back even though she wasn't aware of it yet. And maybe she would never know.

But it didn't matter right now because she was in front of me, standing beside me and i was drinking her every imperfection.

Just then Ahaana suggested " Mom, if you don't mind I would like to talk to Neel alone in my room. I have a lot of pending work to complete and lessons to cover." Aunt Susan hesitated but agreed finally.

Her face lightened up as she held my hand and led me to her room. When I entered her room, I could smell her sweet deodorant and felt blissful.

Then she closed the door and locked it from inside and turned to look at me. She took out her books from the closet and sat beside me on the bed.

Suddenly I could see it all clearly. What had Ahaana been thinking about before she fainted. I could see Natasha holding her hand and leading her somewhere.

Ahaana was unaware of where was she being taken to. She was silenced by Natasha when she asked about it.

But maybe I knew and I was sure that this is the starting of something disastrous.
