THE BLACK APPLE

In a world built with lies, does the truth still matters? Who cares about the truth? When we're all slaves to power. .*. Her sharp sword reflects the moonlight as she drags its tip across the blood-stained floor with her right hand. Her floor-length white nightgown- now stained red with blood flutters as she walks barefoot in the dimly lit hallway, slashing anyone who comes her way without mercy. The pupils of her eyes turned into a dark shade of red with golden streaks, filled with rage, she could only see red. She walked until she made it outside the east palace, her home— her prison. Several assassins appeared out of nowhere and attacks her altogether, before they could even touch a single strand of her hair, they were suppressed mid-air, unable to control their bodies. The swords they were holding fell to the ground as their hands try to pry off the invisible hand tightly squeezing their necks. "That's just the first step of suffering you'll have to endure, soon your blood will flow backward and out every hole in your body." Seconds after, the words she uttered happened and the assassins fell lifeless on the hard cold cement floor, bathing with their blood. Not bothering to spare them a glance, she continued her pursuit and walked forward. Arriving at the main palace, she scans her surroundings before going inside. Just as she excepted, six assassins flew down from the ceiling and launched toward her. They were much stronger than the ones sent to her residence. "This isn't too bad for a warm-up." Raising her sword vertically, she parried an attack. Kicking the opponent's knees, she hopped and landed on the other assassin's shoulder causing him to tumble back with a loud thud. Without falling with him, she turns mid-air and twirled her sword, slashing the previous assassin in the neck, whose attack she blocked earlier. Veering around, she slashed the torso of the assassin behind her, landing on the marble floor. She released her sword, and it floated, and moved on its own accord towards the three remaining assassins, piercing their hearts in one swift manner before returning to her right hand's grasp. As she walks forward more assassins appeared, and getting impatient she decided to use magic. "Halt." With a single command, everyone came to an abrupt stop, others who lunged toward her were left floating mid-air. "Hell's Tango." After uttering the command, the assassins were able to move again, but could only attack one another. She took a few steps and stopped before the palace's golden double doors, that's separating the throne room and the receiving area. She just woke up from a deep slumber, she didn't expect to be welcomed this way. She closed her eyes as if trying to calm down, everyone close to her is gone. Their deaths shall not be in vain. Inhale... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale... She sharply opened her eyes, and a gust of find blew from her back and pushed the double doors apart. Smirking, she looked at the person across her, sitting on the golden throne. . . . . . . . Instead of attacking, she stretched her limbs and yawned. "I was asleep for so long... did you miss me?"

CHAPTER 2: TRUNK

*AMARIS*

As the annoying guard keeps getting closer, and with this hell of a snake above us. I'm finding it hard to decide what to do.

When I don't know what to do, I just kill the problem, but I surely can't just kill anyone right now. I looked back up at the snake once again and I saw that it was blind. What a unique snake, even its skin is white. How would it taste if I roast it for dinner tonight?

Suddenly it arched its body and was about to attack us. I raised my right hand, holding the dagger, and was about to slice it to pieces if ever it comes any closer when it suddenly turn around and launched at the guard a few steps behind the tree we were at.

I took the chance and tightly grasped the idiot's arm who was beside me and drag him out of here as fast as possible. He even tried to scream, but I immediately clasped my free hand over his mouth.

When we arrived at the road, I immediately pushed him away and he stumbled back immediately vomiting in the bush.

"How gross." I covered my nose and looked away from him. Without reporting, he slowly walked toward me as if he were about to collapse. How weird, shouldn't he be running away and I'll run after him?

"W-why aren't you escaping? I'm not holding you captured anymore." I stepped back when he was just a few steps away from me. Disgust must be written all over my face, I saw realization dawn upon him.

"Are you disgusted at me? You're responsible for this, What kind of prank is this? Your eyes are red and you're so freaking fast, what are you and where am I?" Is he yelling at me?!

I can't help but glare at him. In just a blink of an eye, I'm already in front of him, pointing my dagger at his neck.

"Are you asking for death?"

*3RD P0V*

The man's face paled when he felt the cool tip of the dagger in his neck. He stared at her fiery eyes and his knees almost gave up when he verified that she was not wearing any contact lenses.

"A-are you a vampire?" He asked stuttering due to his nervousness.

Amaris was confused by his question and retracted her dagger. She rolled her eyes as she crosses her arms.

"Why the stupid question?" She asked him with her raised brows. 'You're-stupid' was written over her face.

The man felt his heartbeat getting louder and everything seems to be still and he lost consciousness. Amaris can't help but furrow her brows at the man.

She really can't believe a person as frail as this exists, she should have killed him the moment he looks at her with his stupid eyes.

Her dagger turned back to its original form and she put it back under her sleeves. She walked around him and crunched down to reach his jacket's collar. Gripping it, she started pulling him toward her car which she is nowhere in sight of yet.

Amaris was sulking while dragging him. Not only did she not get a chance to see the clone that escaped, but she was also almost discovered, and now have to drag an anonymous human person.

...

Crystal was worried when an hour passed and there was still no sign of the princess, she was already waiting outside of the car, half an hour after the princess's departure.

'What's taking the princess so long?'

'Could it be that she was caught?'

'Did something happen?'

She can't stop thinking about the princess's welfare. She already imagined a thousand possible scenarios of what might have happened to her.

'Should I go and find her?'

She stopped walking back and front and decided to just forget the princess's order and go inside the laboratory and find her, but just as she was to take another step, she saw a silhouette of a person from a distance. It didn't take her long to recognise who it was and started running towards the princess.

When she was close enough, she came to an abrupt stop when she saw that the princess is dragging another person behind her.

The princess stopped in her tracks as well and they both looked at each other, she asked her with a confused look.

"I-is he dead?"

The princess who was previously annoyed got even more annoyed when she heard Crystal's question, and immediately let go of the collar of the man's jacket as she was dragging him, and hastily left and walked towards her car.

"Put him in the car," She told her before getting in the back seat of the car.

Dumbfounded, Crystal kept looking left and right toward the princess and at the unconscious man on her left.

"W-what?" She asked not sure if she was asking the princess or herself. She can't believe that instead of just finding and peeking at the clone, the princess even brought someone back.

'Who's this person?'

She asked herself. She patted his right cheek to confirm if he was still alive and check for his breathing. The man groaned and she can also feel his breath. Calming down, she finally started dragging the man towards the car.

...

Fast forward, they arrived back at the east palace where the princess resides. Crystal and the princess went out of the car and no one was left inside.

The princess was about to step inside the palace when she turned her head around as she hear a noise coming from the inside of her car's trunk.

She remembered that she brought someone home today.

(FLASHBACK)

Crystal opened the passenger seat and was about to throw the heavy man in when the princess asked.

"What are you doing?"

Confused once again, she thought that she was a fool for not understanding the princess. She brought the man back, of course, she wants him to seat beside her.

Dragging the unconscious man back to the other side of the car, she was about to open the back seat of the car. But it won't open since the princess locked it from the inside.

Confused once again, she looked through the tinted window. She might not be able to see the princess, but the princess could surely see her.

The car's window rolled down where only the eye of the princess could be seen. Her pupils were glowing red with annoyance.

"He stinks, put him in the trunk."

She said before pressing the car door's window button, and the window rolled back up.

She thought wrong again.

'If this person isn't special to her, why is she taking him home?'

Exhausted, Crystal lifted the man's arms and dragged him once again to the car's trunk.

(END OF FLASHBACK)

Amaris looked at Crystal who was already looking at her. Understanding her command, she bowed at him and walked toward the car's trunk. Once she opened it, the man inside immediately sat up, breathing heavily, gasping for air, as if he had just been brought back to life. The man looked at the princess as he struggles.

The servants around the princess gasped when they saw his flawlessly handsome face with his aggrieved look and dishevelled hair.

Amaris spared them a glance with her shark eyes and they all got scared and bowed their heads.

His body is aching all over. He can't help thinking about what the woman did to his body when he passed out.

The princess was looking at him with her usual emotionless eyes. He cut off their staring session and scanned their surroundings, the place was clean and peaceful. There are lots of flowers, trees, and bushes, but all the flowers were just roses in the colour red, black, and white.

The palace exterior walls were not painted and had vines growing in them. The windows were big and tinted, although the place is majestic, he can feel its loneliness.

When his done scanning the area and is breathing fine, realization followed suit after.

He remembered what transpired before he lost consciousness. He immediately looked back at the princess with his eyes bulging from shock.

'Don't tell me he's gonna collapse again?' Amaris asked herself, she thinks this man is incredibly unbelievable in terms of idiocy.

She can't bear to see another breakdown of his, acting like a damsel in distress. She shifted her gaze to Crystal who was still standing beside the man, waiting for her order.

"Take him to the guest room."

She looks at the servants at her side again, feeling her stare, they bowed their heads even more.

"Spread my words to the others. No one shall know this man's existence outside my residence, those who fail to abide shall have their neck slit."

"Yes, your highness." They all replied, sure in their hearts that the princess is in no way, kidding.

The man can't help but gulp at her words as well. He watched her back as she take each step, leaving them behind.

When the princess was nowhere in sight, he was still looking her way. Crystal turned to him and was deliberating whether to bow at him or not. In the end, she chose to show him her respect and bowed slightly.

"Please get off the vehicle, and follow me."

The man turned to her and realized that he was still sitting in the damn trunk where he almost thought, he was about to meet God. That is if he goes to heaven.

He immediately unloaded himself from the vehicle and Crystal closed the trunk and patted it three times, the car immediately drove off itself, heading towards the palace's exclusive garage.

Turning to him, she bowed once again.

"Please follow me."

The man who seem to shock by everything bowed to her in response and followed.

The servants around bowed as they passed and followed suit after them inside the palace.
